BADBOYS new mock

I have changed my opinion and think Pitts will be re-signed at a reasonable deal. We know what we have in this very steady, solid LG. He is a big strong dude, familiar with ZBS and the players. He has had Kubes support and is always on the field. He will help Duane Brown and Myers and the running game. I will be surprised if we used a draft pick above 4 on a OG. I will now post my most recent mock.

1. CB Kyle Wilson 5'10" 190lbs 4.42 right there with Haden & I think he can start by game 1.
2. RB Toby Gerhart 6'1" 232 4.60 best stats of RBs don't see him at our spot in 3rd. Want him, get him. Dwyer is a similar back but gone by our 2nd.
3. C JD Walton 6'3"305 36 starts for Baylor in a ZBS type offense. Senior Bowl practice on blocking he put 329 lb DT Dan Williams on his butt. Also, frustrated UT Lamarr Houston into jumping off side twice after blocking him successfully. On the next attempt, he brought Houston down. He & Pouncy only two centers that might replace Myers by mid-season.
4. DT Linval Joesph 6'6" 322 gap filler who per BeerLover can play all day at 315. Thanks buddy for putting him on my horizon. I really hesitated to go for DT in draft but BL knows his players.
5. OG/OT Marshall Newhouse 6'3" 326 5.06 (40) Pitts replacement & might challenge Rashad Butler day one. I would love to watch him and Joseph bang. Played LT all 2007. Shrine eval "both positions effective. SLides to either tackle or guard well with good foot work. Gets to 2nd level".
5. FS Robert Johnson 6'2" 197 4.52 I keep thinking he'll be gone but most mocks have him 5-6 round. 2008 INTs 4 2009 INTs 6 + 66 tackles. Very solid player that can back up & eventually replace Wilson. I really like this guy. Great physical specimen and great speed. I had Thomas in my 1st round but this guy + Kyle Wilson make me very pleased with DBs.
6. RB Chris Brown Okla 5'10" 202 4.47 has slipped this year as did his team. Not a gamble at this pick and could have a Slaton type rookie year in our offense. Not sure he will be here if he has the combine I think he will. I can see his 40 dropping.
7. WR David Gettis (Baylor) 6'4" 209 4.44 52 for 675 7 3 TDs. Lots of WRs with speed available but think he could stick at least to PS.

DR is the only ? I now have as I think we will sign all FA including Walter that matter.

should be enough to push the Texans into the playoffs. Adds depth @ OL, RB, FS & DL, upgrades starting CB & RB. would like a better option behind Schaub & Kris Brown, but this can be addressed via free agency or in a trade :good: work

I've seen a number of mocks that having us drafting a Center in round 2 or 3. Do you think that this is actually a possibility or is this just wishful thinking from all of our fans??

Honestly....when has Kubes made a switch at center ? even when they stink up
the house ?....uh that would be never. But I like the idea of moving back to see if we could end with the poundster and a running back. The odds it will happen ? slim to none. And slim just jumped ship. The more likely scenario in my book is ending up with Marshall Newhouse Or J.D. Walton, a swing G/C in the third or fourth. they've been more responsible the last couple of drafts mining for late round home runs when it comes to the o-line players. You'd think they'd stay on that course. Especially after filing the Schaub coffers. Get the QB. Protect the QB. Sack the QB....everything after that is gravy. With a rushing attack, Schaub stands a much better chance making all 16 games.

As 3TP said, it could really happen. Caldwell was a 3rd and most posters thought he'd be starting for Myers. I understand the management thinks Caldwell is strictly a RG. It wil be interesting to see if he beats out Brisiel. Regardless we should have good depth at RG. My guys Newhouse and Walton offer great supporting staff, Newhouse to project to future LG starter & Walton to center even sooner. Myers should start but JD comes from A ZBS and should make very quick progress. I do not see another center later in draft to give much hope other than being projects. If I knew Pitts was not returning, I'd probably draft a guard in 3rd such as Asamoah, Johnson or perhaps Petrus.

Uh that would be twice in 4 years bringing in Flanagan and then Myers. Plus drafting potential C Caldwell.

and the number of times he switch those two after stinking up the house during the season? That number would be zero. Until Myers goes down, he's the guy. Kubes loves the vets. Well we're all waiting on Caldwell for sure. You'd think after seven games or so He would of given Caldwell or White a start just to see ? But he didn't did he ? Kept running Myers out there with the same results...until week sixteen.

Like this mock alot. This should be good enough to get the team to the playoffs.

Changes I would make

3rd Asamoah-Much more natural ability than Walton,Has the ability to play C.
6th L.Coker-my sleeper,can KR/PR, Chris Johnson speed,runs hard between tackles
7th Like Gettis can he KR/PR? I want the team to draft a returner so JJ can concentrate on WR2.

I don't know if you've noticed this or not, but we're not in season right now.

So. According to your logic, if he's going to make a change, this is the time he'll do it.

I bet a coke right now Myer's unless he gets killed or caught is you starting center come opening day.

:spit:

I have to agree with 3TP on this. I don't think Kubes would want a new C in there when they start the season. I think Myers is it for now because of continuity and he's a steady (not great) Center who's been in there now for 2 years. I think it's going to be hard for a Rookie to get him out of there, baring injury. JMHO!

First off, I was just making the point that according to your logic, if he's going to make a change, now's the time he's going to make it.

But secondly, I don't agree with your belief that he won't make a change at center during the season if he thinks a better center has developed.

I think Kubes will start whatever player he thinks is the best center. The odds are against that being a rookie, because like you said, Kubes prefers vets. But to say categorically that Kubes is going to go with Myers all next year is like saying Kubes isn't going to draft a RB before the third round. Neither of those things is dead on 100% certain.

This is a good mock but I'd rather have Anthony Dixon, Jonathan Dwyer, or Ryan Matthews in the 2nd round. I also have doubt that Robert Johnson falls to the 5th round, I think he'll go in the late 3rd or 4th rounds.

Me too but I can't find any mock saying that. One I saw last week had him in 6th.
