Bebe Thomas to annouce his decision today

But it looks like he might be declaring.
Demaryius Thomas will announce whether he’s staying at Georgia Tech or going to the NFL on Friday.

A press conference is scheduled for 1:15 p.m. at the Institute.

Thomas caught 46 passes for 1,154 yards and eight touchdowns this season. He led the ACC in receiving yards as well as yards per catch (25.1).

A 6-3, 230-pound native of Montrose, Thomas’ combination of tight-end size and wide-receiver speed gave Tech’s offense a dimension of physicality that few others could match. A powerful blocker on the edge, Thomas was also fast enough to outrun cornerbacks and safeties or strong enough to knock them over after the catch.

He was third-team All-American this season, first-team All-ACC, and a semifinalist for the Biletnikoff Award, given to the nation’s best wide receiver.

...

Thomas may have made his decision known on his facebook page Thursday evening. There were several friends congratulating him and telling him “Good luck in the NFL,” though there was no message from Thomas indicating that he had made his decision.

I think this kid is going to be a great NFL player, maybe more successful than Calvin Johnson (more successful- not better. CJ got screwed by being on the Lions).

He's got the tools. His ideal situation would be going to a team that has an aging #1 (Indy, NE, etc.) to be groomed for a couple of years. He has the size, athleticism, hands (despite the crucial drop against Georgia), and blocking ability, but I assume he could use some polish on the route running (disclaimer: I don't know that as fact, but assume it given the nature of the offense he plays in).

You nailed it. It is hard to scout him because GT only throws the ball 10 times again, but I saw him running mostly fly routes. He is going to impress at the combine and his pro day. 2nd, maybe 3rd rounder.

Thomas needs serious serious serious improvement on his route running skills if he is going to be a player at the next level. Physical tools are all there. He is a beast. But you cannot just out-athlete people in the NFL.

would be the best year for him..bryant is the only real competition & he's not all that great to me so...

Morgan Burnett, S, Jonathan Dwyer, RB, and Derrick Morgan, DE, join BeBe Thomas in entering the 2010 NFL draft.

Hell of a junior showing for GTech in the draft.
