#14 Georgia Tech vs. #20 Miami (FL)

ACC Coastal Division posturing early in the season tonight. It should be a very interesting game.

Tonight @ 7:30 eastern on ESPN.

I've heard enough from Miami fans over the past week and a half. I feel like smacking the next guy who forms a U in his hands and groans "the UUUUU"

If you can't tell, I am rooting for GA Tech tonight.

GA Tech receives, kicks FG on first possession. Miami answers with a long TD pass on their first possession. Jacorri Harris is the real deal.

14-3

What happened to Derrick Morgan and Burnett???

They aren't really throwing at Burnett. Morgan has been in coverage a lot (don't get it). Other players are busting coverage a lot.

Keep in mind this is GTech's 3rd game in 12 days. Miami had a week off after FSU. They've had a lot of time to prepare and rest up for this game.

Trips set for Miami on the 14. Burnett was playing deep coverage on trips side. Harris pump fakes to the outside reciever running a post but throws to the TE from the trips side who was wide open. Tackled by Burnett but finds endzone.

31-14

It looks like the canes are back.

Let's see what they do with a normal week to prepare. They had all off season to prepare for FSU, they had 9 days to prepare for GTech, and they will have 8 days to prepare for VTech next week. Normal week is only 6 days to prepare. Big difference. It helps when your young team has a lot of rest between their games.

They do look good though.

TD GTech. Long pass to Thomas.

3 games in 12 days is taking its toll on GTech. Their whole team looks dead tired, especially their Dline.

Good tackle there by Burnett on the run that was bounced outside.

Missed tackle after missed tackle by GTech.

Georgia Tech's defense has no legs.

I don't know if Miami is back, but they definitely have some swagger again.

It will be interesting to see what happens to this Hurricane team. Historically, FSU and Miami play terrible the week after the Labor Day game. Miami decided to take their buy week after that game this year. After the VTech game they play 10 games in a row with 6 days (the normal amount) of rest. That could really backfire on them. Most teams wait till somewhere in the middle of the season to take their buy week.

I am still doubtful of this program. Florida State and Georgia Tech are not what I call good football teams. But seeing the Canes take care of business is impressive. Virgina Tech and Oklahoma will be good tests for them.

I agree. They looked like they were gassed from the get go. Not much of a pass rush and the secondary couldn't cover me.

Miami has a front loaded schedule that could leapfrog them up the rankings pretty quick.......if they keep winning of course.

FSU, GT, VT then Oklahoma

I think FSU is alot better than people think....

Christian Ponder is a VERY good QB, I wouldn't be surprised if he lead the Noles to a victory over BYU.

Ponder is very smart. He was in a couple of my finance and real estate classes and would be first to finish tests pretty much every time. He's got a lot of athletic ability and a good coach to teach him, so it's no surprise he has improved as much as he has.

The problem is our defense. Micky Andrews runs an attacking man coverage scheme and its hurting us right now. We need to play zone against BYU and get pressure with our front four or they will run crossing and slant routes all day on us.

I'm not really concerned about the offense. I think our running game will breakout tonight.
