Houston Texans fans... WOW!

I have seats in the Bullpen but had my first chance to sit in the club level (section 334). Why do people pay to sit on a couch to watch the game on TV and pay for high priced concessions? I bet 60% of my section were in their seats at any given time. Early in the first we had a third and 5, I stood and was making noise, the few people that were in their seats looked at me like I was crazy! Give me HEAT, give me SUN, but please give me the BULLPEN FANS! No pot shots against other sections or levels, but the club level was LOADED with "T-sips".... no pun intended Longhorn fans. LOWER the ticket prices and get fans into the damn seats! Make it affordable for the average fan that WANTS to be there!

Are the people in Houston STUPID? Why did I see red jerseys, blue jerseys, and just whatever on WHITE OUT DAY? How freaking hard is it to wear something white? The Texans did not do their part today, but the Texans fans did not either!!!!!!!!

Bob, I have been with you since day 1. You expect a return on your investment, SO DO THE TEXANS FANS! I have taken your ticket prices skyrocketing since 2002 and my paking pass has almost doubled in price. I keep thinking ONE day we are going to turn the corner. You sold us on a first class organization in 2002 and I believed you. The confidence is starting to wander. You have a coach and QB that is still unproven (BILL COWHER where are you?). Now you have a cornerback that is making close to $10,000,000 for playing 16 games and he has the balls to write, PAY ME RICK" on his shoes??????? Its just getting sad that the middle class people that sacrifice to be in the seats for you is having to endure this time and time again. You have to get this stuff fixed and soon!

Texan fans..... get in your seats and BE THE HOME FIELD ADVANTAGE! We can ***** and moan all we want, but from 12-3PM get there early, be loud, and stay late! Lets make this a bump in the road..... not a TRAIN WRECK!

Sorry...... had to vent! :headhurts:

Welcome to my life in the club level.

I dont think blaming Bob has anything to do what you are angry about, perhaps blame the NFL who have made it where the league/teams make money from suites/club levels.

well for one i also m usually the only one cheering even when we are getting our but kicked

- 1 There are ALOT !!! of familys/casuals that go 2 the games and older people and they usually stay pretty quite

-ALOT of KIds 12 years of age or younger while some make nosie others dont fully grasp it yet

- After 7 years of Lows some fans are getting tired ... just tired and not caring about getting loud

But for me i try to pump up the crowd and i usually try and make has much noise but iam only one person in a sea of people

i think in due time when winning happens the crowds will get louder

I just wish tho i see the Pittsburg games the Chicago games and heck now even the Oakland games and there fans i get Jealous

Everyone whines "show up in your seats by kickoff". Why, when the team never bothers to show up until at least October? The fans aren't perfect, but we are better than this team of no-effort quitting losers deserves.

The same thing happened to me last year.I was sitting with my father-in-Law in the club level when we played the Bengals last year...There was a play I saw Andre Wide open. I jumped and screamed AJ"S OPEN!!!! I had multiple people turn and look at me like i disturbed them...I actually had the person in front of me give me a dirty look because he was on his cell phone...Excuse me I thought I was at an NFL game..

I haven't sat with him since and not planning on it...Those Stuck up people can enjoy on there leather couches and I will enjoy sitting near the top screaming my head off and cheering for my football team...Everyone around me seems to be doing the same....

Shame to have Yuppies ruin the fun because they don't want to be bothered by some person" cheering" for there team..

And I have to also agree most of them do sit inside and watch it on Tv. Why the hell would you do that?? Pay all that money to sit on a couch and watch it on TV..I'm really good at that during away games.

Just my 2Cents.

What do you think they did with the cups? I'd be prepared to back up any accusations that you may be going to make.

I "think" they cut them down in half, but still asking us to pay the same $7 for a beer. I've got the cups from last year, they're twice as tall. Same diameter, but shorter.

The same is true for the cups for sodas.

IMHO, if they want to get fans in the seats early, they need to make it happy hour from 11 to kick off. $2 drinks.

The beer cups are two ounces smaller but the soda souvenir cups are not. Fill up a cup from last season and pour it into this season's cup. I did that after the Saints game. I was like... what thuhhhh.... The cups look smaller! They're actually shorter but they're larger in diameter. They hold exactly the same amount of soda as they did last season.

I'm not much of a beer drinker myself but I do like my sodas and I hate paying 5.75 for a fountain drink. I was ready to raise heck about the size of the cups myself.

I guess I'll try the "scientific method" when I get home. But they definitely look smaller.

& 2 ounces is still 2 ounces.

That was a melee whatever it was

I wonder if there was one in Sec 124, I was in row K there, and there was a Jets fan there with a Naimath jersey flipping folks off and giving us the "shush" sign....a few folks were not having it....I left after the last Jets TD so i'm curious if anything happened down there too.

I actually was impressed with how much of the stadium was wearing white. It was very loud in the first quarter, until fans realized that it didn't matter how loud we yelled during third down, the Jets were going to convert at a rate of 55% (though it felt higher).

But yeah, you can't go to the Club Level and expect it to feel like a football game. Which it wasn't, but still.

I am in Section 124 Row M and left after they went up 17-0. Where was Naimath?

I think Naimath guy showed up with the girl in the pink Sanchez jersey and she was whooping it up too at the crowd....they were a few down around maybe row H or I in like seat 12 or so....he and she were really **ssing off folks....

They showed Joe Namath on TV and it looked like he had a seat in the crowd.

Kind of surprising...none of the Jets higher ups would let him sit in their suite?

and on another Joe note..he looks VERY old and feeble. Too many decades of alcoholism I guess.

If you see an opposing fan doing that, narc them out to the yellow shirts or call the fan hotline.

I had the worst case scenario. There are two stubhub seats in front of mine that usually have opposing fans in them. Yesterday, fans sitting there wearing their Jets jerseys were clearly idiots because they would cheer the loudest when their team was on offense.

After one of the TDs, the guy turned around to high five me. He is lucky to still have a hand. Then after a late stupid TD, he turns around and pats me and my friend on the knee in celebration. I gave him the verbal whatfor. He says, hey it's okay, I'm from Dallas. He is very lucky that laser beams do not shoot out of my eyeballs. Actually, the entire Texans team and coaching staff should feel fortunate as well.

Cowboy fan pseudo Jets fan. Blurgh.

If he had cussed or anything, I would have totally narced him out. But then again, he wasn't in his seats much because he was all about getting food.

I was impressed with the fans I was sitting around, my first time sitting in the bull pen as well, until the mass exodus that is, I stayed to the clock said all 0's, but I am beginning to wonder why I do this to myself. Getting up at the butt crack of dawn, driving 3 hours each way, spending my hard earned money just to be let down over and over. Granted I don't drive in for every game, like some do from the Austin area, so I imagine they are more frustrated than me.

Too many lows and not enough highs with this team. Kubiak did not have this team ready to play yesterday plain and simple, they looked terrible. Kubiak is definitely on the hot seat after that egg they laid yesterday.

They are still my team and I still bleed battle red, and typically after a loss I am upset for a couple of days and really gets me down. But at least when we lose after playing well and fighting hard I can take some comfort in that. When we lose like we did yesterday, when we show up with no heart, it's a huge sign that we are just that mediocre team we have been. I am still going to watch every game, but my expectations are very low for the season now and I will do my best to not let it get to me. Hell, I have been the only one at my job representing the Texans, trying to convert fans over who don't have a team, etc, it's pretty embarassing when they stink up the place.

So was I Steph! A lot of fans got the message and wore white. The others either just don't care, or they own one Texan jersey and intend to wear it regardless.

As for fights? If you are a PSL owner you better control the fans who sit in your seats. The guy who sits in front of me got a taste of the Texans rath after the Vikes game. His friend got into a verbal shouting match with another fan, over something silly, a lot of four letter words were exchanged, almost a fight, but, it got stopped by other fans. Someone reported him. He got a phone call from the Texans on Tuesday with pretty much a threat of losing his PSLs because cursing and shooting the finger is not acceptable. They told him they would be watching him. Well, the guy who owns the seats didn't do anything, but, he got the blame, and the threat. I have NO idea how it works with Stub Hub or E-Bay.

BTW: The yellow shirt did NOTHING! He stood at the end of the row with his sunglasses on and watched the game on the big screen. He was totally oblivious to the encounter, as he has been to other encounters in section 116. If anyone needed to be reported, it was him. JMO!

I wonder if anyone called on the guy in Sec 123 row A about that "Let's give Mark a dirty Sanchez" poster he was holding up....the cheerleaders gave him disgusted looks, but thats about it...the guy in yellow with the cheerleaders did nothing....

It's really pretty simple;

when this team wins football games you won't have to beg fans to be in their seats or be loud. They'll be there.

I take full responsibility for the loss yesterday, since I don't buy into the silly-ass, kindergartenish Liberty White, Battle Red or Steel Blue days, I didn't wear white. Plus I didn't stay to the end of the game, for the same reason I don't stop to look at car wrecks. Yea...........

$2 from 11-12????? NOW THATS AN IDEA!!!!!!!!!!:splits:

I did not even know what this was, just looked it up on wikipedia and wish I never knew, and then there is the part about Screech from saved by the bell........I think I might need to puke and find away to unlearn this.

I get annoyed with people who are upset that fans don't buy enough colors of jerseys. Just because the team went with some crazy rainbow of uniforms where they flip a coin to figure their colors for the day doesn't mean that the average fan can afford to.

Want all the fans to be consistent and wear the same colors? Have the team be consistent and wear the same colors. The reason fans in other towns can remember what color to wear is their team always wears the same colors. Imagine if the Steelers went with black, white, and just for fun fuschia. And you aren't a real fan unless you eschew the black and gold for the pink.

The "wear one color" works great for college games..when you watch some of the big games on TV the stands are an ocean usually of the home team colors.

I have a blue DeMeco Ryans jersey but my wife has a white Ahman Green jersey. I wore it yesterday despite it being too small and has a permanent lipstick stain on it. I'm dreading battle red day because my 7 year old son has a Red Schaub jersey...

I'm a fan.

lol. You may luck out if you get there in time for a free T shirt. Don't want you to have to dress like a teenage girl in a belly shirt.

Not picking on you DanB, but c'mon. How many people don't own a WHITE shirt? In the case of the Texans, the colors are Red, White & Blue. I've seen those colors on a couple of flags somewhere, I just can't put my finger on it...

Now Jags fans OTOH...well, just dress like a tarp.

I think everyone who thinks or posts stuff like this should just show up at the game with posters that read "Thank you sir, may I have another?"

Right but my point is that when the Texans sometimes wear blue and sometimes wear white and sometimes wear red if it's a big game, no one knows what the heck to wear on a given day. The Cowboys and Steelers wear white at home. The Packers wear green. The Texans should always wear one color at home. I kind of prefer the red, but frankly I don't care (unless it's teal) as long as they stick with it. I'm just saying when the appear to randomly choose what color to wear they shouldn't be shocked when fans do the same.

The Texans website tells you what Jerseys they will be wearing that day....(too lazy to post it, but its there trust me)

I'm sure it is. But other teams don't need a website to tell their fans what to wear that day. When they wear an alternate, it is promoted in ads and otherwise made clear to the fans or they hand out T shirts for the game. Otherwise they wear what they always wear.

OMG!!! Why is this such a big freaking deal?? Who gives a flying flip what people are wearing and what the damn stadium looks like? Are you serious?

FWIW and for as much complaining as there is about the guy who wore blue, I thought the crowd looked pretty damn white. Mission accomplished for you folks worried about that crap.

Man ... if I didn't know better I'd think this was a ploy to buy more gear .

IF ONLY more fans had wore Surrender White...errrr....I mean Liberty White, the team could have been inspired to pay better.

yeah, riiiiiiight.

I have reached the conclusion that nothing the fans do makes much of a difference to the players on the field. "Homefield advantage" only works for good teams that inspire their fans, not the other way around.

Cheering "another Houston Texans first down!" in a blowout does a lot for confidence, too. [/sarcasm]

I agree with old-school tradition. But I'm not the modern ADD-fan that this marketing company...errr...football franchise is selling to apparently, because I find the whole idea of rotating jerseys to be goofy and Bush League. JMO

Not picking on you disaacks, but how many established winning teams have six different uniform combinations for eight home games? When you turn on the tv, you know if the Steelers are home or away because of their jerseys. Tradition is established through winning, not through marketing.

And what difference does it make what color anyone wears? It does not matter to players, so it's the Queer Eye for the Football Guy fans that seem to get whiny over the subject.

Straight up. I'm only wearing my custom blue jersey to games, and I could give a rat's ass if I'm color coordinating with other fans and what the football players are made to wear. It's utter nonsense for this to even be an issue when you have a team that is traditionally lousy.

Good point. Unfortunately, we put our uni combo tradition before our winning tradition. ;)

It just seems so....manufactured, I guess. All of this would have been fine and dandy and really unnoticed (except for cynics like me) if we were winning more than losing the past 7 seasons. Losing seems to magnify these things, though.

Exactly. I doubt anyone would care if someone wore an old Oilers uni to a Texans game, except for you-know-who taking the records with him. Alternate unis are born of tradition. I know it's still just a ploy to sell jerseys, but somehow it is more legitimate when it's a 1960's powder blue Chargers uni, or even a godawful Bucs jersey.

Actually I agree with you. I finally broke down last season and bought a blue and red cheapy jersey, but I fought it for long time after dropping $230.00 on my white or first one.

oh, and I just realized, TB, that you posted the home and away jerseys for the Patriots.

We have six different combos for 8 home games! All blue, all white, all red, blue top/white bottom, white top/blue bottom, red top/white bottom.

General observations...... (I was in Sect. 109 yesterday)

1) The crowd around me was in their seats at kick-off, along with Jeff Van Gundy sitting a few seats away from us.
2) I had my 6 & 8 year old with us, so I was kind of nervous about any foul language, but I didn't hear any that I thought the kids picked up on so that was good.
3) We're not in to buying jersey's. My son does have a couple. My wife bought us some of the Texan White Out tee-shirts for the game. Probably about 60-70% of the people in our section had on some form of white shirts. Even JVG had on solid white. Overall it really doesn't make much difference to me. We only go to a game maybe once a year, so why not get in the spirit of things.
4) On the last Jets TD that was run into the right side of the North end zone it looked like the Texans fans were really giving the Jets the business, with lots of #1 salutes.
5) It does seem like a waste of money to me to see so many empty seats on the club level. Might as well stay home or go to a sports bar if you're not goign to sit in the seats. I sat club level last year for the Titans game, but we sat in the seats the whole time. It was kind of rowdy, as everyone in our area was definitely into the game.
6) I can't believe anyone would still wear a #8 Carr jersey to the game! I saw at least 2 of those. Saw several Old Oiler jerseys. I even saw one guy in a Packers jersey, and wearing a Cheese Head.

Carry on.......

lol! yeah, I know, I should just be happy we have a team. :bender:

Comrade, do you need re-indoctrination into Texan nation? We will send you to camp in cold north. You vill be re-trained with Capers, Casserly. You vill recite the Texan Nation anthem and you vill be good fan!!

Funny stuff-
I had three people today call me and say they saw me on ABC13 Sports Sunday. They supposedly said:

"And the Texans fans were not happy"....and then showed me looking as pissed off as I've been in a long time for about 5 seconds. One of my friends emailed me a screen shot and wow, I didn't even know the camera was on me in front of me...but yeah, I look as pissed as I've ever seen myself.
