why on earth one day before the draft everyone is going goo goo gaa gaa for this guy? so what, he projects to a 3-4 DE I think you could make the same case for Antonio Smith who all the same people said the Texans overpaid to get in free agency. who's laughing now?

anyway all of a sudden the mocks have TJ going KC w/3rd selection & if he doesn't New England moves up possibly #8 to take him. this could help/hurt Texans draft?

I guess he's one of those solid players that you don't have to worry too much about. What you see is what you get!?!?

I dont understand either. This guy has been a solid mid to late round 1 for months. I dont understand why KC would pass on Curry for him, or why the Pat's would trade that far up to get him.

Watched a lot of LSU football while Tyson Jackson was there. When they had Dorsey on that d-line, Jackson was an animal because teams had to focus so much attention on Dorsey. Same for Ricky Jean-Francois. One year removed from Dorsey hopping to the NFL, Jackson wasn't even in the same area code of being the same player. I guess Kansas City is basing there decision off of what I saw with him and Dorsey on the same d-line together.

This is a perfect example of a player so called "shooting up the draft boards". The general concensus is that he was a mid 1st rounder up until few days ago.

We'll see in 3 1/2 hours where he actually goes... but the reality is that teams didn't just jump on board in the last week. They've been scouting him, they've been seeing how he'd fit their team, they've known whether he or another player would make the biggest impact, etc.

I'm convinced if he goes #3, #5, #9 overall etc. that he's been there for a while. He didn't all of a sudden shoot up there, he has in our eyes, but the teams actually doing the work have had the thought of him there for probably months.

I had Denver taking him with their first first rounder and that was a slight reach. I see him as a mid 1st not a high first. The fact that he is even being considered a top 1st tells you how weak this draft class is.

JBZ is right, w/Dorsey one year ago was considered a top 10 pick. now it just doesn't add up based upon his performance past season @ LSU.

back to my other point as it directly relates to Antonio Smith DE could he not fit a 3-4 DE? did this add value & cost the Texans more money because they were in competition for his services with the same 3-4 teams now clamouring for Tyson. in fact maybe the Texans knew something & got ahead of the competition so to speak making the offer sheet above expectations yet in reality in line with his actual market value among specificly teams seeking 3-4 defensive ends :texflag:

Maybe the Chiefs want to put Jackson back on the same D-line with Dorsey again. It does seem like he's come out of nowhere as far as the top 10 with mock drafts go.

Absolutely horrible pick in my opinion. To me it seems like Pioli is reaching for guys that fit his system rather than drafting the BPA. But then again, the 49ers were supposedly high on him, so perhaps he still would've gone in the top 10 if KC passed on him.

With Scott Pioli as there GM coming from the 3-4 Pats, I think Pioli sees Tyson Jackson as a Richard Seymour-type of player. I guess what the Cheifs might do is have Tyson Jackson and Glen Dorsey play DE in the 3-4 and find someone to play NT. I'll admit Jackson is a reach at #3, but if Pioli feels Jackson fits there mold then whateva...
