Rick Gosselin's final mock

He's usually pretty accurate in his final mock draft. I'm not sure the Texans could pass on Orakpo if he was there at 15.
 
Much rather have Jerry or Okarpo.

When the best argument is why not and his uncle played here is the rationale, not sold on the pick.
 
Yeah he has Andy Levitre going to the Cowboys at 51. He also has Unger and Wood going ahead of Alex Mack. The one that really caught my eye is he has B J Raji falling to the Broncos at 12.

That's exactly what I thought A-T: the great Rick Gosselins source has to be John McClain because Gosselins compelling reason for the Texans taking Matthews was that Matthews uncle lives in Houston and therefor that would make the pick popular. Huh ?
Gosselin should know that Brian Orakpo, who is also on his Board at 15, is a Houston native if he's basing his picks on sentimental, hometown connections.
Now Beanie Wells would sell tickets - Wells & Slaton, Mr. inside & Mr. outside ! But there's several
players I like on that Board better than Matthews. We'll just have to wait and see ?
 
The Jaguars are in dire need of a left tackle since Khalif Barnes left in free agency. Monroe would be an upgrade at the position.

Dude is slipping - the Jags signed Tra Thomas away from the Eagles and it wasn't to be swing tackle off the bench.
 
I had stated in a previous thread that I could not envision a scenario in which I would be upset with a pick.

Now if we passed on Orakpo with no trade compensation....
 
i doubt that's his rationale for the pick, he's just giving an interesting story.

Orakpo plays the same spot as Mario. Ain't happening gang.

That's different. He's quite a bit off from lots of other mocks, so he's likely to look like either a genius or as having completely lost it. Some of the things that stand out:
- Sanchez, Raji, and Orakpo (especially Orakpo!) falling out of the top 10
- Tyson Jackson going #3
- Andre Smith taken before Eugene Monroe (incidently, what happened to all the concern about Smith that had him falling out of the 1st round entirely?)
- Unger and Wood both going in the first (this would not really surprise me, but I haven't seen any other mocks predicting it)
