Ravens @ Titans

I'm digging this one.
"Attention Oppossing Fans"

http://forums.titansonline.com/forums/showthread.php?t=43333

"Oppossing"? Really? That's a little too close for comfort to "Opossum" for me. I think somebody was tryin to type about opposing fans while at the same time thinking he was hungry and this came out.

Sigh wish I could mod right now there - wanted to fix that amd merge it with my own...

Some Steeler fans came over to rub salt on the wound....like I needed any more grief.

That';s why we don't stop. Ask Red Sox fans after Aaron Boone or Buckner. They don't know why, but they come back for more.

Sports fans are idiots, when you think about it.

After a bad loss I always wonder why I care so much. Why do we love something so much that will always (unless you win the championship) end badly.

I feel for you since you've stuck with them so long....no time like the present to cut your ties and join the Texans! We've never lost a playoff game.

Is the TOMB the official board or is it a spin off like TT? They sound like a bunch of young kids, telling people not to talk to them, stating they are going to have to beat someone up.

Hey Titan fans, better build Bud a new stadium quick or else he will move your team. :specnatz:

I will say this: Good strategy on Ed Reed's part to see how far he could bend Chris Johnson until he broke like a twig.

9 months til kickoff. sigh.

If you do not have the balls to take it when you lose then you need to stop going to message boards.

Hey now, if your going to talk smack and stomp on there towel then you better be prepared to man up and take your lumps when you fail.

Thats all I got to say about that.

We stick with 'em for the payoff I guess. I just fear I'm gonna be too old and too ugly to dance naked when it happens. Hell the ugly's already happened.

I made my bed and stuck with Bud's team, even as an Houston diasopora (sp)....for better...and definately...for worse.

I don't blame you for dancing on the 2009 Titans grave....I'll take it on the chin.

.

Sorry but as an outsider that has been here a bit I find it frustrating that there isn't more anger towards team progress. My bad. Enjoy the weekend

Wait, you want *more* anger from Texans fan, or fans, in general? I think the mentality of too many fans is childish and takes the joy out of following sports. The Texans have been improving, have coaches and players who work hard and don't have members of the organization embarrass the city. That's all I ask.

I want to unveil a new Avatar for this thread.

A pic for good measure :

Ed Reed was trying to take the football away. If Johnson had enough since to give it to him then he would of been OK.

Actually I thought the same thing when I saw it. Thought Flacco took a step out. Must have just been the angle since no one else seems to have seen it.

coverage of this game, production, camara angles, lack of replays, announcers, all sucked. The best thing about it was Titans lost a game they should have won :doot:

Was Johnson injured and if so when?

Apparantly suffered a high ankle sprain on that play, which you could see on one shot was very heavily taped. Which was also why was you saw about 60 shots of him on the sidelines while Fatty Fatty Fat Fat chugged his way to 2 yards a carry the rest of the way.

Interesting. I wondered why "Fatty McButterpants" was the only guy getting carries in the second half. If he were Ronnie Brown I'd be openly wondering if his injury was bad enough to keep him out of the Pro Bowl so Slaton could go and thus rectify the glaring oversight that left him out. Chris Johnson however (even though he's a Titan) easily deserved to be voted in. I'd not be pleased if his injury was enough to keep him out of the game.

I agree with one poster on the Titans board about the delay of game. I'm obviously happy that it played an outcome in them losing since I despise the Titans, but they really should make that like the NBA shotclock. If the playclock goes down to 0, a buzzer or something should go off.

It's 3 in the morning and I still have a big smile on my face after watching the Titans LOSE. You'd think, them being an NFL team and all, they'd know how to HOLD onto the ball. One less turnover and they probably win this game.....Damn, at least the 35-3 fiasco they were on the road. When was the last time the Oilers/Titans had homefield throughout the playoffs?

Me too. I knew the Bud curse would do them in. I was hoping for somthing a little more painful like a last second 40 yd rush that comes up one yard short or blowing a 50 pt lead in the final seconds after Fischer was already soaking in Gatoraide.

I really really don't like the Titans and everything bad that happens to them makes me happy. Is that wrong?

I just want to say that this board maybe needs to go back to the days of respect for others and having posters who enjoyed each other and who could debate without being childish. I don't appreciate some no name poster called Fox, who doesn't know my history here sending out Neg rep and writing "Stupid, pointless post."(above post)I don't think I've ever given neg rep and I've seen some dumb stuff. People need to grow up and at least join in the conversation instead of neg repping and running. Get a set. This is getting ridiculous. It's an opinion, pure and simple from someone with no ties to any of the teams

I agree frog. People sometimes just can't agree do disagree. They get childish and start insulting. Pretty lame.

I slept good last night and this morning the sky seems bluer, the flowers smell nicer and the birds are singing even sweeter.

and another thing, i hope joe f*ckin flacco gets his neck snapped next week and dies horribly right there on the field and derrick mason along with those other MF azzholes suffer career ending injuries. f*ck the media and f*ck the p*ssy ravens. we dominated those f*ckin MF on the field today and they don't deserve any respect of any kind whatsoever. i hope their team plane goes down and they all burn in hell!!!!!!

Their anger and misery are making me smile on this beautiful Sunday morning. :dance2:

Whether or not you like the Titans, not much doubt they gave the game away. If not for all of the mistakes they made, I think they could have won handily even without their rookie RB in the second half.

fixed Bud's wiki page for him...

"Adams was again criticized for his decision not to renew the contract of the team's president, returning to that role himself. Adams is said to have arranged his affairs in such a way as to ensure the team will remain in his family's possession after his death, which appears in no way to be imminent as he has the appearance of a man in remarkably good health for his advanced age. It is widely rumored that Adams made a deal with the devil to give him eternal life, but as a price, his team would never win the Super Bowl."

What I love about that article is that in typical Wikipedia style they have the details all screwed up. They have the "House of Pain" era taking place while Bum Phillips was the coach.

Must have been written by some wet behind the ears Titans fan who thought he knew what he was talking about.

At first watching these guys throw fits was funny. Now its just sad.

These guys are making Cowboy fans look classy.

That's one thing I like about TT. Our mods wouldn't put up with sick talk like that! I don't think they would anyway. Really sad to stoop that low over a ballgame. As much as I DETEST anything TITAN, I can't imagine wishing death on the entire team. Just pathetic to post something like that on a public MB. JMO!!

The Ravens defense leads the league in takeaways for a reason. They always force alot of turnovers, just look at the last two teams they played, both Mia and Tenn were top 5 when it came to not turning the ball over, but the Ravens defense still forced several turnovers against both of them.

Yep, but Tennessee was #2 in take-a-ways and actually had a better differential than the Ravens. This game was a CH..CH..CH...CHOKE job, plain and simple.

Really, one of worst in franchise history? :spit:

no doubt spec. whoever believes that was one of the worst losses much less playoff losses, really hasn't followed our former Houston Oilers franchise and all its playoff futility.

I can name 5 right off the top of my head that were worse than Saturday's chokejob. Much worse. 4 syllables. 35-3. One Yard Short. Either Elway chokejob. Montana's Swansong. Next.

After this year's Colts comeback against the Titans in Reliant, I thought maybe the curse was on Houston and not on Bud's franchise. Thankfully, its painfully obvious that I was wrong. It's the franchise. They are now approaching Cubs-like status of the NFL.

I called my shot on this thread that it was a leadpipe lock that the Ravens would win and it couldn't have been prettier and it was Same Ole Oilers, Same Ole Titans. Complete chokejobs. The definition of chokejobs.

they are the Oilers Herv. like there is any other possibility other than 'One and done'. count on it.

yeah, there are limits in message board smack. i kinda feel bad for them because I walked in their shoes when the Oilers were in Houston and I have felt their pain (as you and many others have as well), but you don't start wishing death or disease on people because of a freaking football game. no class at all.

its just another piece of proof that the Houston curse is over and was never Houston after all. Its on Tennessee now, and we have yet to have a losing season post-DC. Its definitely a time for optimism.

I don't he meant that it was one of the worst chokejobs. I think he meant that it was one of the worst losses for the franchise. And I can see from where he was coming from just from the standpoint that the team was probably on it's way to a superbowl apperance and a good chance at winning it all also. It always hurts more when you know that you are probably the best team in the playoffs and then you blow it when you outplay your opponent but still get beat.

The 92 oilers did blow it but they still weren't the favorites to go to the superbowl that year and still would have faced one of the best teams of all time in the Cowboys even if they did. I think the Titans fans could smell the title if they could just get by the ravens. That is why I think he felt it was one of the worst of all time for them.

i understand. it was a tough loss, no doubt and in a wierd way i feel sorry for the vast majority of their fans and for Fisher...

...I don't feel sorry for Bud though. He can bite me.

SDW

Welcome to being a fan of a Bud Adams owned football team.

Bud I thank you for moving the team.

Thanks for giving Houston a badly needed enima.

We also need Bullocks & Blazing Arrow to tell us how it feels.

Good luck Possum Hollow

PS If only the savior VY had played they would have won right Vincanity LOL.

Man, oh man...

It's Sunday night right now. We obviously know what the 2008-9 titans fans arent doing... Celebrating. They are too busy whining about the refs and bad calls and "dirty" Ravens players. It's so entertaining!!!

Soak it up guys. It will only take but a day for the Cowboy-fan-like mentality to come out. "...at least we made it to the playoffs...our record was better than yours...blah blah".

Just remember that when you hear that, their soul is crumbling, their owner is Bud Adams, and their future at qb goes to sausage parties with no shirt on...
