No Texans/Raiders on Austin TV - but we MIGHT get the Texans/Bears game on FOX

I was already positive this would happen last week, but I thought MAYBE just MAYBE the win over Tennessee would change their minds over at KEYE.

KEYE will show Tennessee/Pittsburgh over the Texans. Pretty much everywhere else in Texas will show Houston/Oakland.

Previously, there was NO CHANCE the Texans would be on TV in the final week, because FOX only can show one game that day, and they would obviously choose Philly/Dallas ahead of Chicago/Houston... and Dallas will have gone over the "limit" of national games, thus could not be moved to the flex spot on Sunday Night Football.

HOWEVER - if you read THIS ARTICLE on PFT, it looks like there's still a chance that Philly/Dallas can be flexed!

So let's all HOPE that Philly/Dallas gets flexed to SNF, which would pave the way for there to be coverage of the Bears/Texans game in Austin on FOX!
 
Can't say I'm surprised... Actually, I'm kinda surprised the map didn't turn out like the Pats/Colts game last year when only Houston metro had the Texans/Raiders game and Cleveland and Oakland was blacked out...
 
i can honestly say i haven't been to the watering hole all year, i'm gonna tell my wife that sunday i'm gonna disappear
 
Yeah, I knew this was coming all week. I will be at Pluckers this Sunday in RR to watch the Oakland and game and I will be in attendance for the Bear game, so that gets me through 2008. I will NOT miss seeing them play, no matter what.

This time we will be there Hardcore. Donna and I are looking forward to it, well, Donna will when I tell her.
 
I hope Pittsburgh annihilates Tennessee.. Not just for the obvious reasons, but so that KEYE looks like the idjits they are.

Go 56-0 Pittsburgh blowout of the Tinnbreds!!! Of course if it gets too out of hand Vincent may see some playing time which would cause that asshat at KEYE to get happy in his pants. :gun:

Cool! There will be a group of us then, Hookinreds, DCTxTech, and myself will be there and maybe more. I am bringing my neighbor, I don't believe my wife is coming this time.

I will be at Pluckers S. Lamar. The last several times ive been there there has been a nice Texans crowd...and they put the sound on.
 
This is all because Austin wants to see Collins get injured and "The Man they call Vince" come in and play. Talk about man worship. You will watch a team all year just in case 1 guy gets off the bench.

Damn it, HC, I just got home and will have to make it next week. Man I wanted to be there. If feel violated..lol.
 
the $%&# raiders can't even sell-out their last home game of the season, so I can't see it on sunday ticket either
and there is NO way i'm driving 100 miles in the rain to hand al davis $$ just so i can fight drunk, raider fans 1-on-10 after the win

I was just about to ask if you made it, I looked around for you. We had a nice turnout, only a couple of us from the boards but probably at least 20+ Texans fans there, it was cool to see that many people supporting the team. Sorry you couldn't make it, I will not be there next week as I will be at the game! :woot:

On FOX, the Dallas at Philadelphia game, which is oozing with playoff possibilities, has been moved to 4:15 p.m. EST as well.

They didn't move it to SNF but to the 3:15 time slot.

I totally forgot that BOTH networks get two games each on the last weekend of the season.

So, obviously the Cowboys/Eagles will be on at 3pm... but the Texans could also be on TV at Noon. I have no idea if FOX in Austin wants to show the local(ish) team or not - but the only game that would seem to be a threat is NYG/Minnesota... I would hope the people at the Austin FOX affiliate realize that game is totally meaningless to the Giants. If so, we should be getting Texans/Bears on Sunday.

This could show us if KEYE is honest when they say they'll show the Texans whenever possible, or if they are just being d-ck's on porpose. Personally I suspect they're in no hurry to ever show Houston. Austin loves to hate Houston.

Last week's game was KEYE's last chance to show the Texans. Texans/Bears is a FOX game.

It still hasn't been made official yet... the affiliate choices should be out sometime today.

BTW, I was at awfulannouncing.com the other day and they showed a mistake in the graphics I thought was pretty funny. Did anyone that saw the broadcast catch this?
