The problem is that when you lose, you drop. Oklahoma did. Texas did. And Tech did. Tech just lost late.

Unfortunately for Tech it came down to Texas and Oklahoma. And unfortunately for Texas the voters dismissed their head to head win.

And fortunately, they reflected the fact that UT lost to a team that OU beat by 40 points. OU is the strongest team of team of the three. It all worked out.

This is laughable. Why even schedule the Texas OU matchup? Let's just compare how they fair against common opponents to gage whom is better since head to head is obviously meaningless to you.

Let's try this also in the NFL. The Giants came out flat today and just got beat by the Eagles, however the Eagles were blown out by the Ravens a couple of weeks ago. The Giants beat the Ravens earlier in the season however according to your logic the Ravens are stronger team because how they faired against a common opponent.

i agree with what Stoops said last night during the BCS show. 3 teams with the exact same overall record, exact same conference record, exact same division record, etc. yes Texas beat Oklahoma, but Texas also lost to Texas Tech, who Oklahoma beat. since everyone agreed on using the BCS as the 5th tie-breaker, this is where we stand. it's real easy just to say "forget Tech, this is really a 2-way tie." well, that's good and all, but the standings don't indicate that, and the bottom line is that the Sooners have had a more impressive season overall than Texas and Texas Tech, according to practically every factor that goes into determining who plays in the BCS Championship.

the Horns' gripe lies with Texas Tech for not only beating them, but also not losing to anyone else except those damn Sooners. oh well! enjoy the Fiesta Bowl

Longhorns quarterback Colt McCoy will stay for his senior season.

McCoy told the American-Statesman of his decision Monday.

“I’m not going anywhere,” McCoy said.

McCoy said he wants to play for a national championship, after falling one spot short of the title game this season.

“I’m coming back because we have a solid coaching staff,” he said. “And I’m coming back because I feel like I can develop the young receivers we have.”

McCoy said he will not “initiate” an evaluation with the NFL underclassmen committee. He said his coaches may ask for an evaluation for informational purposes, but he does not plan on asking them to do so.

McCoy is a redshirt junior. After this semester, he’ll have 12 hours remaining before he graduates. He said he’s planning on doing an internship this summer and will take a final course next fall, then graduate.

This is excellent news for all Horns fans. Now, if Shipley wins his petition for an extra year of eligibility (he should) then I would consider the Horns the favorite for next year.

I would guess that this eliminates Colt from all Heisman contention though. They will give the award to Bradford and hope he goes pro. They don't want another two-time winner.
