Liberty White

Received a message that the Texans will be wearing all white.

No, it is not the color of surrender. The Texans had planned to wear liberty white for the Ike-d out game.

The all white unis are kind of funny because the linemen don't look particularly svelte in them.

In any event, they are encouraging the fans to wear white. Just got the word on this last night, so I'm not sure that anyone will be paying attention. But there you have it.

Which means, of course, that everyone will continue to show up in battle red. :victory:

This game has always been Liberty White, the original date and now this date. My wife and I were supposed to go to this game on the original date. I searched all over for a white Mario jersey but didn't find a decent deal. We both ended up buying brand new white Texans shirts to sport at the game.....but never got to go because Ike had other plans. And we can't make this one.

Personally, I don't like the ALL white uni's. Boring to look at. JMO!

We seem to be too "old-school" for this new ADD-obsessed NFL and all these costume...errrr....uniform changes (6 unis for 8 home games) and all the retro-uni sales (the "Titans of New York"???!).

I liked it when we used to turn on the tv on any given Sunday and you instantly knew what teams were playing and who was the home team. Now, I turn on the Steelers and see yellow...errr..."gold" helmets, the Jets playing as the Titans, baby blue Chargers, some college/arena league hybrid uni for the Eagles...heck, next season we even get to see the 'Oilers' return. :dontknowa

Hey just relaxe, have a cold Budweiser beer (TM) and have a fun gameday experience. Don't get all caught up in that tradition and winning junk. Just enjoy the carefully crafted, never obnoxious, always family friendly environment.

I like them all, but I couldn't care less if they keep doing it or stick with just one....and I wouldn't care much which one either. Just win some freaking games already. :foottap:

Everyone's uniform always looks better when they win.

I know DB. BUT, I guess it's called "marketing" and everyone wants a piece of the pie. I've found myself having to check out logos on helmets rather than going by the color the team is wearing.

I wasn't going to say anything until the LOGO thing came up. . .no changes on the logo please it's too, well. . .PAINFUL!:logo: (attached to left breastish area)

When my children are watching the games with me they say "Why are they wearing their homes jersey's away or their away jersey's at home?" I tell them it is a long story that I still haven't figured out!!!

It's very simple really. Blue jerseys are their home jersey, however, once a year they decide to dedicate one home game towards their 'colors'. Therefore 6 home games will be blue, one home game "liberty white and one game "Battle Red". They will also dedicate a potential second Battle Red jersey day, because the NFL allows up to two "alternative uni" home games. So, it breaks down like this: The Texans will wear Blue, unless its "Liberty White" day or "Battle Red" day or a second "Battle Red" day. Got it??:tiphat:

*before anyone takes this post seriously and tries to correct it, I was being facetious*

You forgot about Steel Blue Sunday for all blue - oh! and Go Tejano day when the helmets are replaced with sombreros. Arreiba!

I think there should be 3 battle red games a year...Jax, Tenn & Indy. Go white, blue, pink or whatever for the other games.
