UT Vs TT

I see Texas still got a #1 vote in the Harris Poll. Not sure I disagree.

I'm looking forward to the computer rankings and BCS standings. I suspect UT is still a top 5 team even with the VERY poor choices by the coaches.

I saw one of the computer rankings and it had Texas at #3.

Bama was 1 & Tech was 2.

You must be right, they just announced the BCS on TV just and Alabama is #1, TT is #2, PSU is #3 and Texas is #4. The computers must of given UT a big boost.

Texas is not out of the national championship race by any stretch.

Kinda hard to drop UT below OU .... but TT would have to lose to both OU and OSU for UT to reach the Big 12 championship i believe.

Tech's new kicker, Donnie Carona, played on the same little league team as me twice. Just to let you know haha.

see that would be confusing
if this happened

UT beats Oklahoma
TT beats UT
IFOklahoma beats TT

who would go?
all teams would have one loss

and it is a triangle

Probably the greatest college game I will ever go to in my lifetime! I know some will get pissed for me saying it, but Tech really should've won by more. Whether it be the dropped TD catch after the safety, leaving points on the board by kicking field goals, or loosening up in the second half, I think Tech shouldn't of let it get that close. Then again, credit goes to Texas as well for continuing to play solid football and be relentless the entire game. The only thing that worries me is Texas might of lost at the right time with Texas Tech still having to play OSU and Oklahoma over the next 3 weeks. Texas finished their hellish 4 game stretch 3-1 against 4 top 11 teams. Tech's destiny is in their own hands, but there is zero margin for error.

The BCS rankings determine the tiebreaker

That's the 5th tie-breaker, but will likely come into play if its a three-way.

I expect TT to lose its next two games. The only way I see them in the Big 12 title game is if they win at Oklahoma and I doubt that's gonna happen.

Okie St beats Tech
OU beats Tech

That's all we need.

Whoever wins the Bedlam would finish in a tie with Texas & we would hold the head to head.

Texas needs to win out of course.

Texas would be ranked higher in the BCS & own the three-way tiebreaker in these scenarios.

I suggest everyone goes to this link and looks at the photo at the top of the page:

http://forums.hornfans.com/php/wwwt...3247&page=0&view=collapsed&sb=5&o=0&fpart=all

I've been trying to post it on this board but the file is too large & I don't have the ability to edit it on my computer.

If you are unable to view the link:

It is a photo from the game where Tech's left tackle is clearly hooking Orakpo & taking him down to the ground. Orakpo sprained his knee on the play and had to sit out the rest of the game. There was no call by the official of course.

In the background you can see Tech's right tackle reaching into Henry Melton's helmet to block him in the face. No call was made by the official.

The refs did not lose this game for Texas. Texas lost it. But there should definitely be some sort of penalty to the refs who called this game. They made bad calls all day for both sides.

Not sure if it has been posted

Divisional Tiebreakers: The following procedure will determine the representative from each division in the event of a tie:

If two teams are tied, the winner of the game between the two tied teams shall be the representative
If three or more teams are tied, steps 1 through 7 will be followed until a determination is made. If only two teams remain tied after any step, the winner of the game between the two tied teams shall be the representative.

The records of the three teams will be compared against each other
The records of the three teams will be compared within their division
The records of the three teams will be compared against the next highest placed teams in their division in order of fi nish (4, 5 and 6)
The records of the three teams will be compared against all common conference opponents;
The highest ranked team in the fi rst Bowl Championship Series Poll following the completion of Big 12 regular season conference play shall be the representative
The team with the best overall winning percentage [excluding exempted games] shall be the representative
The representative will be chosen by draw.

Computers are funny, particularly in the strength of schedule. Even if both win out, it is conceivable that UT could drop below OU in the BCS rankings. We're also assuming it comes to the BCS being the tie-breaker (I think it would).

I REALLY hope PSU screws up and loses. The Big 12 and SEC shouldn't be punished for being from superior conferences. At least for now, the computers seem to agree.

Watch the last play, Thomas made an awful play as well.

I can't imagine what Muschamp is going to do to Earl Thomas when they watch the film today.

The Gideon thing was bad, but it wasn't an effort thing. You can be mad that he can't catch a pop fly but at least he tried.

But Thomas.....I wouldn't even want to be in the room when they rewatch that last play. He completely gave up on the play and from my experience as a player, that is the #1 pet peeve of any coach.

After the play, you can even see Curtis Brown turn around to look at Thomas & raise his arms like, "where the **** were you?".

Texas got exposed, i'd been telling everyone that their defense wasn't as good as everyone thought. They're best defense is the fact that the offense is nearly unstoppable.

Tech did exactly what i'd been saying other teams needed to do..... stop giving McCoy & those wideouts all that underneath garbage that enabled him to complete 80% of his passes which would conseqently make him hold the ball a little longer than he wanted. At that point, it would become tougher to mount those 10-16 play 80-90 yard drives they'd been doing all year. Doing that combined with making the best of your home field advantage & having the athletes to match up with them would be good enough to beat them.

Florida on the other hand is a problem...those dudes are freakishly deep & fast on both sides. & we know meyer is a hell of a coach...
