(#5)Texas Longhorns at (#1)Oklahoma Sooners

Roughing the kicker to even out the roughing the passer, looked like a pick in the endzone

The ground can't cause a fumble.

But it can cause an incompletion.

He caught the ball but coughed it up when he hit the ground. That's not possession.

What a great game! What a great win, Texas was very impressive and there is not much in this old world better than beating the stinkin' sooners. How about that vaunted oklahoma D gettin' 45 points hung on 'em!

If LSU beats Florida today and Mizzou beats Ok. State, I wonder what the rankings will look like? My guess is:

1. Missouri
2. LSU
3. Texas
4. Alabama

I think it will be like this because the voters have a hard on for the SEC:

1. Alabama
2. Missouri
3. LSU
4. Texas

I would make it like this:

1. Texas
2. Alabama
3. Missouri
4. LSU

even if photoshopped, I don't care

yes.. I didn't think Texas would win but pre game lee corso said it was all OU .. and I love it

I thought Earl Thomas picked off that last play of the game.

The box score shows it as incomplete though.

I loved how Lee Corso basically said that UT would have to play their A+ game just to "keep it close." Corso, go ahead pucker up and kiss my

I'm not sure what you're seeing, but I don't see that.

I underestimated Loadholt. He is doing a pretty good job on Orakpo. I've only seen Orakpo in the backfield 4 or 5 times so far.

I think Loadholt is destined for the right side on the next level. I'm looking forward to the review up there to watch all these downs Orakpo took off. Ok the guy is going up an OT projected to go in the top forty or so next April...makes a difference. I saw a guy giving everything he had every snap.

I'm guilty too. On paper OU is clearly the better team in terms of athletes. My keys to the Texas Win...OU lost #8 Ryan Reynolds early in the second quarter. Once he was out of the game, Texas found their running game. Two knee operations... Reynolds will be a second day, roll the dice guy, low pick. That knee will scare everyone. But it is clear he is an outstanding sidelines to sidelines athlete.
* Saw early this morning that Reynolds is out for the season. Get you a whistle kid. There are worse things in life than being a coach.

Ulatoski is a great OL prospect...gave up zero sacks...to a great first step guy. And got on the second level and helped spring the big run in the third quarter. And that is twice the guy has executed a key block in this big game. * the block was @ the 4:40 mark of the forth quarter.

Only a stubborn fool would deny Colt McCoy is a very nice QB prospect. On paper UT shouldn't of even been close. McCoy just didn't keep the horns in the game....He dominated the game.

Finally, without Orakpo's constant pressure, this game isn't close. I'm going to be interested to count up all of these plays he took off. Looked to me he was not rotating with anyone.

No way Texas passes up a SEC team for the number one slot. No way.

Texas still has to get by Texas Tech, Oklahoma State & A& M. Then beat Missouri or OU in a rematch in the championship Game. They jump through all of those hoops and they aren't in the BCS game....It's all bull dung.

If you are talking Big 12 Championship game, which it seems like you are, Texas and OU are both in the South, only one of them can go to the championship game against the winner from the North, which will be Mizzou I am pretty sure.

I don't understand how UT cannot be #1 now in any scenario. They're #5, they beat the #1 team, case closed. Who cares who anyone else beats when the 'Horns are highly-ranked AND beat the #1 team?

LSU beating Florida and Auburn would be slightly more impressive, IMO, than Texas just having beat OU and no one else thus far.

The rankings won't mean much this week anyway though. If Texas beats Missouri next week, they will definitely be either #1 or #2.

And that is why they won't jump to #1. There is a grand prejudice against the big twelve on both coasts and in bristol Connecticut. No matter what Sodom on Town Lake does , it will never be good enough for some folks. From what I've seen so far, their ain't no QBs in the SEC this year. Not on the caliber of the big twelve anyway. Texas will have to win out to get there. Anyone of these QBs get hot they can beat anyone. Including LSU, Florida and Auburn.

Look the rankings are pretty lame and I'm no SEC homer but they play a tough tough D and it shows in the way Muschamp has turned UT's D around. Look until Big 12 plays D at that level all the way around then the Big 12 will always be second class next to the SEC.

no denying that if someone gets through the big 12 unscathed then they deserve a shot.. lots of tough teams

Nice win today by UT. I bet on UT this game and they showed that they are an all around great team.

Refs sucked...OMG.

I thought Texas' front 7 would demoralize Bradford but he still had a nice game. But he could not handle the pressure in the last 5 minutes.

I think Texas will be #1 or #2.

The Horns have a rough schedule , follow up a win against #1 OU with No. 3 Missouri , No. 17 Oklahoma State and No. 7 Texas Tech.

Its going to be difficult to run the table. Think I'll just enjoy this one for now.

Agreed. Now is the time to enjoy the Big W in Dallas. Tomorrow its time to start preparing for Mizzo. It will be at home. Mizzo is a very tough team but they are in the North. Even if UT loses the Mizzou game they still get to the Big XII if they run the rest of the table(home against Oklahoma St, @ Texas Tech, home against Baylor, @KU, and then at home vs A&M). Tough schedule: sure. But this is what good teams do, they face the tough opponents and win. Lets see it Horns!

I thought the OU Punter did a very good job of floping into the Texas guy....but I also believe the OU Guy who got the roughing call on Colt out of bounds was actually trying to hold McCoy up by the jersey to keep him from falling. It's true the roughing the kicker call was bad....my money says they got a call from the booth at half time. And the roughing the punter call was a make up call. I thought the officiating was fair if not accurate.

I will agree that LSU beating Florida in the swamp will be impressive, but Auburn is not impressive. Right now Auburn is up on Arkansas 7-3 in the 4th. A team that Alabama beat and Texas beat 52-10.

The idea that offenses suck in the SEC only because the defenses are so good is skewed. SEC offense suck because QB play or players not executing.

Texas deserves one of the top 2 spots after beating OU by 10 in a neutral site. Plus they have mizzou OKST and TTech to deal with, so its not like they will stay #1 or #2 unless they really deserve it.

Fair yes, accurate no. Both teams got horrible calls against them so it was fair. But both roughing passer calls was BS, and yes on the 2nd one he was trying to help Colt stay up, but that actually backfired on him. Heres a hint, when the guy goes out of bounds, STAY AWAY.

The punter is going to get nominated for best acting for that flop. Unreal that the ref's bought it.

If you're a UT fan you don't have to care about where they will rank this week or even the coming weeks. They have their destiny in their own hands. If they run the table the rest of the way they will be in the NC game and that is all that matters.

Just consider every week a playoff game with no room to slip up.

Great game!!!! It was outstanding to beat Oklahoma!

Colt showed that he could come back and answer over and over. The D under Muschamp showed that they could make some important stops. This team is playing with heart finally. Thank you Muschamp! Even though Greg Davis called a pretty good game finally.

Now it's time to hunt down Chase Daniels!

Hookem Horns!!!

Auburn just lost to Arkansas 25-22 at home. Texas beat Arkansas 52-10 at home. Beating Florida in Gainsville would certainly be impressive but beating Oklahoma in Dallas is a bigger accomplishment.

My rankings will be based on what happens in the LSU-FLorida, Oklahoma State-Missouri, and Penn State-Wisconsin.

How good is this Penn State team really? After everything Joe Pa is really one hell of a coach to have this program where it is atm. Talk about a rebound year and on the opposite side of the spectrum....UM lost to Toledo today.

Man I was hoping Mizzou would win tonight setting up an undefeated matchup next week since I will be at the game.

Oh well, Texas is at least #2 now however that doesn't really mean much at this stage of the season.

Get your Horns up! This was a team effort and there is alot to like about the way they are playng together and executing.

Mizzou, Ok State &B Tech are all next.

It means one thing : Win out and play for all the marbles.

I'd like to have seen Mizzou win today and set up another showdown game next week too ....

LSU got the snot kicked outa them .... that SEC schedule is brutal. Dont know if Bama can win out or not.(Who do they have left?)

They do not play FLA, but have to go to LSU.

They do not play FLA, but have to go to LSU.

I just looked up their schedule:

Mississippi
@Tennessee
Arkansas State
@LSU
Mississippi State
Auburn

I could see them losing to LSU .... The way Auburn has played lately I cant see them losing that one.

The Horns on the other hand have a real tough run begining with OU today.

Missouri
Oklahoma State
@Texas Tech
Baylor
@Kansas
Texas A&M

Mizzou maybe has a letdown after todays loss
OSU is a very physical team , I was impressed with them
TT in Lubbock with title hopes on the line
Kansas is no slouch

If they win out they will have earned a shot at the title.
