I get your criticism of Watson - there is plenty you can be critical of, but isn't this a bit harsh? Throughout the league Watson is billed as a top5 QB right now - maybe that is way too high, but he should definetly be in the top 10. He has proven, that he has the desire to win and that he can come out big in big situations.
Now as every QB he needs help. And that is a problem here. BoB is making some questionable decisions both as a HC and a GM - and some of our most important and best players are pretty injury prone. So there is a good chance we won't be as good as we all hope - and if you are right about Watson he won't elevate us as much, as he would need to. But he is far from a desaster or lost cause, even for his loudest critics.
Getting a franchise QB ist the most difficult thing in football. The Texans never had one before Watson. Schaub came close, but he often disappeared in big situations. And with BoB at the helm, we trade away draft picks like crazy - and without picks you basically have no chance. Watson is our best and only hope at winning - and with that, the Texans are in a better positions than about 15-25 other teams.
