Now we get to sit back and see what we have in our new GM.
Don't forget Taylor's injury. 32 teams could have got him before Jags traded up in second. If Coach likes our starters shouldn't our picks and UDFAs be develop guys? If this season works, we could go BPA 2020 when we have four picks top 100.So Tytus May end up being the right tackle after all with this pick. If that’s so, why not Jawaan Taylor... Gaine could look like a genius or this could all end badly. Almost all of our picks are developmental. Lonnie is the most NFL ready, and even he has some technique issues to work out
If D, Howard and Scharp work out we might not have to for some time and Henderson could be decent if only as a backup but let's hopeI wish they'd go with huge upside tackles in every draft.
I think all 4 players will be contributing to this team this season. The only developmental part is reaching their considerable ceilings.
Disagree on Lonnie being most NFL ready of the picks. It’s Scharping. He started every game he played in college and he’s not gonna stop that streak now!
Well if he allows only one sack in 3 years here perhaps we can forgive his flaws? Look, the guy just got the job done on either side of the QB for three seasons; if he protects #4 I don't care what his base looks like. He's not just a pass blocker like Dillard and can play both RT & LT. Only Jonah and Little can do that and hopefully Howard. I'm saying Howard will be our Little but with more consistency. Scharp will be our Jonah technician. I posted somewhere I rated Scharp as good as Cody for right side even if both move to RG.

Look where Max is on this list

Scharping had pass protection PFF grades above 87.0 every season of his career.
Few people on the MB think he's better than a middling coach. But it doesn't look like he's going anywhere anytime soon. He seems to be a favorite of OB, but none of us really know the inside story of the inside story.I don't know much about Mike Devlin but I don't hear good things... is he on the HOT seat?
As I understand it, although there were numerous reports to it, he did not suffer a hamstring injury.......just experienced hamstring tightness. And this occurred after the Senior Bowl in preparation for the Combine.I had hard that Scharping was also a bit hurt in a leg at the SB, so he may not have been 100%, but battled anyway

When I was researching the above, I came across another interesting piece of Scharping's history. It seems that he suffered a fractured tibia as a sophomore in high school and doubted his future in football altogether, but he came back strong in his senior year. Nevertheless, he was ranked a 2 star recruit as this injury kept him from attracting elite schools.

We got Josh Allen coming... Are either one of these Tackles in Tytus Howard or Max Scharping going to be able to block Josh Allen? in the end...I felt we reached and should've traded out the 2nd pick in the 2nd round but hey! At least, we addressed a position of need and got Obrien his versatile guys on the Oline...
Scharping shut out Brian Burns in the FSU and I believe he had a good game against A.J. Epenesa from Iowa. Howard performed well against Auburn as well as against top level competition at the senior bowl.
I see and hear people harping on BOB’s love of versatility. Remember, we only dress 7 OL on game day. We better have guys that can function at other positions in case of injury. Our issue with the OL has been a pure lack of talent as well as some scheme issues. Hopefully both of these will be corrected this off season
IIRC, we didn't have more than 7 who could play. They brought guys onto roster and onto field with minimal practise. Our two guards, Kele and Fulton went out and we had Lamm...Lamm as a starter! And he earned his check by just getting to LOS. This new online going to be much better. And so will #4Scharping shut out Brian Burns in the FSU and I believe he had a good game against A.J. That will decrease the sacks Watson takes. Not the time it takes to get pressure on Watson. That's still on the o-line.Agreed. Not enough has been mentioned how Carl Smith will improve the OL play just by making DW4 more aware under pressure to not take sacks.

We still don't know who will be playing where. More options than last year. But are there good options?Davenport not playing should help that. Rankin playing where he should be playing will also help.

My line-up but not sure Howard beats healthy Henderson. Best if Henderson is so good, Howard can wait.LT Davenport
LG Scharping
C Fulton or Martin
RG Fulton or Rankin
RT Howard
IMHO, Fulton vs Martin at Center should be the REAL camp battle
Disagree. Best is if Howard is so good he beats out a healthy Henderson. My line-up but not sure Howard beats healthy Henderson. Best if Henderson is so good, Howard can wait.
I started to post that but think would be better rookie didn't have to start. Same for LG, i guess D, Rankin, Martin, Fulton and H would give rookies all important time. Also, let's not overlook the UDFA center from Rhodes.Disagree. Best is if Howard is so good he beats out a healthy Henderson.
