Welcome back to Houston Tank Dell

Agreed. The Texans met with Tank several times throughout the pre draft process. They did their homework on the player and thought he was a fit for this team.

It would be like if CJ said, “Draft Will Anderson” at 3. He’s a highly rated player that they have done their homework on. It doesn’t take a genius to come up with that idea.
Spot On

I really liked this pick. As a WR or KR/PR, Tank somewhat reminds me of Barry Sanders. He is just as impressive with his ability to escape tackles and make everyone miss with his almost basketball like jukes and cuts

Once Dell has a couple of seasons with the Texans/Personal Nutritionist(s)/Trainer(s) he’ll be looking a bit different at 187 lbs while maintaining or improving his current traits.

If he improves speed, I might suspect he is using Cushings trainer from way back. He just doesn't have the frame to carry over say mid 170's. Seeing I don't really think he played heavier than 150's. Seeing he is listed at 167, 175 is a real chance. Past 180 might be pushing it. I think he is alot like I was growing up. Eat more than my parents and overweight brother, and at 5' 11" I never got over 190 until my junior year. Then I somehow managed to get to 210 for football, but I felt like crap. I also know I lost some speed. Wasn't till I dropped to about 195 I felt right. I stay between 185 and 195 now. Not really by choice, I just workout 3 times a week and ride my bike about 4miles 2 days a week. However, I still eat 3000 to say 3500 (if I am pigging out) and the scale never really moves.

CJ Striud practiced, played, and threw to Chris Olave, Garrett Wilson, JSN, Marvin Harrison Jr., and Emeka Ebuka. If anyone knows a quality receiver when he sees one it's CJ Stroud. When Stroud endorsed Dell to Texans management it was a no-brainer to take him. Dell is going to be a nice weapon in this offense!

I think Stroud worked with Dell at the Combine as well. The Texans were already interested in him and probably wanted Stroud’s opinion.

I like the Dell pick.

I especially like that some posters need for midget porn got their wishes answered.

I agree with you and TD (I like the initials) is showing why he could be a major player at K/PR duties as well as WR

They could run a spread offense, keep the D in nickel or dime, and let Pierce and Singletary feast on 6-man boxes.
I've cooled a little on Metchie since posting back on May 1. He came back too soon or pushed his recovery too hard, resulting in a recovery setback. I've heard no reports other than they expect him back for TC. Hope this is not too soon.

I agree about the spread. I see Collins out wide on the left with Dell and Metchie in the left slot. On the right I see Schultz at TE. Out wide on the right is a question mark. We have two vets, Brown and Woods, and two rookies, Hutchinson and Wayne, competing for playing time. I'd really like to see Hutchinson or Wayne step to the front, or this could be a high priority in next year's draft.

And, of course, we need to see all of them stay healthy.

I'm really hoping that WR IS a high priority next year and the Texans are in position to draft Marvin Harrison Jr. Teaming back up with Stroud could be the making of a Burrow-Chase duo.

I rather we use him there sparingly to at least prepare him for the playoffs. Having him as a deadly PR/KR option could be a huge game changing trump card for us.
You're not seriously considering the playoffs this year is a given?

I must say, people post their thoughts on the Texans taking a local guy and most times I blow it off as homerism. So when I saw this thread pre-draft I rolled my eyes. But props to whomever saw this coming from this kid b/c he looks like he’s made to play on this level; #beast
