Dude I know how to look these things up. As you can see I’m always posting the info I see. So to validate you point post the link. Stop being difficult
If you noticed, MLB/NBA ratings are way down. I expect the same fate for the NFL.
I don't know how to post links.
The first MLB game I turned on this year had BLM (black lives matter) on the mound. The owners are just killing the Golden Goose.
Would you still be a Fan if they started "Kneeling During the Anthem" again? That is one thing that turns me off. I think we will see it in football just as the NBA has already started it. Sports is supposed to be a diversion for us, but they are forcing me to turn off the TV.
I will just say that in the 8 years that I had season tickets, the national anthem at the games was never treated with a collective level of sanctity that we see today.
Speaking of the collective level of sanctity. It's funny because during the national anthem, I usually look at the flag, the color guard, the fans that are talking, the fans not taking off their caps, the fans eating during the anthem, the fans texting and I've even been distracted hoping Challenger, the bald eagle would make an appearance.
Rarely did I even pay attention to the players and coaches to see what they were doing during the national anthem. Go figure.
Earl I got out of the Marines in 2004 and I still take off my hat during the national anthem and put my drink down. Just like you I also look around and see those same things you mentioned. Some players talk while others are singing.
Thanks for your service. There's little doubt 4 things are going to happen.
1. Players are going to kneel
2. TV ratings are going to go down
3. The salary cap is going to go down.
4. Players will gripe about not making as much money.
5. Texans Talk members will still be watching pro football in spite of it all.
But not as much of it as they used too.
So you’re going to only watch a few games lol?
But not as much of it as they used too.
Texans have the perfect receiving trio for a deep passing game
Anybody else sick of hearing Texans PROPAGANDA.
By Mark Lane
The Houston Texans features three receivers in Will Fuller, Brandin Cooks, and Kenny Stills that can bring the deep passing game to life.
BULLSHIT Lucky if one stays healthy for the season.
BOB is a Genius as Coach, QB guru, time manager, offensive coordinator, ..... and GM BULLSHIT
Dave Johnson going to resurrect his career BULLSHIT
Tunsil great trade and great contract. BOB genius BULLSHIT
McNair great owner BULLSHIT
Nothing against any named individuals above personally. Just talking strictly from a football perspective.
I understand. And I don't blame anyone for choosing whatever they choose.
My own take is that I really enjoy football, so all this other stuff is just things to consider, but ultimately I know that I'll be watching. This has clearly been the longest.offseason.ever.
Football is the best sport on the planet in my book. And I really enjoy watching it as a fan (and always have as far back as I can remember).
The human mind needs the occasional entertainment diversion. So I've got heavy metal, video games, and football.
No but they had a 24 point lead and the momentum. Just proves the texans are a tier 3 to a 2.5 at best. Not in the KC range of tier 1. The win in KC earlier in the year was an acceptation to the rule, not their standard. Texans are just not that good, as per historical showings, they are on the higher end of Mediocrity at the best of times. They haven’t proven me wrong yet.Really?
Still doesn't top Buffalo.
The Oilers had the better team.
The Texans didn't have the better team.
I went to AFL games in Jeppesen Stadium and the Oilers. I don't recall this type of crap back then. I don't know why either. The only thing I remember is Blanda to Tolar for three yards.5. Texans Talk members will still be watching pro football in spite of it all.

I'll still watch the Texans .... who doesn't like to watch a train wreck .... but I won't pay for seats nor will I watch it live , I'll DVR it and fast forward thru the commercials and halftime.

What I won't watch is the rest of the NFL as much as I have in the past.
I won’t watch another game till this silliness is over.Agreed,
I've just found other things to fill the void.
I'm not saying I'm going to punish myself by not watching NFL football. But it's not as important to me as it used to be.
BTW, there are many fans on the fence that will be turned off by the kneeling. Obviously most fans on this MB aren't this way.
I’ll write this (and say it out loud) with the utmost of sincerity- the NFL bores me. I can’t explain why, when or how the apathy set in. I just have no desire to watch any other games than the Texans and even then it’s not with the same interest level it once was. I do know this- it has nothing at all to do with O’Brien.I don't doubt the ratings might take a hit. But I also would not be shocked if folks deprived of live entertainment for 6+ months tune in and ratings go up. Who knows. . .
It's still the NFL at the end of the day. Looking at other tv options on a Sunday night, and the NFL is still likely to be the 'go to' for guys like us. Difference for me is that I will turn off bad games where in the past I might sit through them. But I really don't know until I get to that bridge.
All of this protest BS is one of the reasons I haven't been here in a few months. I won't be watching the NFL, MLB, or NBA this year. Until they get back to just playing, and stop all of this protesting BS, I won't be watching. If you want to protest, go do it on your own time and your own dime. Stop interfering with my entertainment. You get paid to play sports, not for your opinion on some political ****. Play ball. Period.Would you still be a Fan if they started "Kneeling During the Anthem" again? That is one thing that turns me off. I think we will see it in football just as the NBA has already started it. The beautiful world we live in.
I will say this I’m enjoying the bleep out of baseball and playoffs basketball. And I can’t wait until the Texans first game against the Chiefs.

Football for me has met the law of diminishing returns and there’s no going back. Talking about football though, that’s still interesting to me. Not interesting enough to argue about.

That’s an interesting way to look at it: position by position. I do still like watching linebackers diagnosing a play and meeting the running back somewhere within all that chaos.I get it. I used to be able to watch games that were boring, just because I loved watching the game. Now I get bored with those games and find something else to do.
That said, I still enjoy the game itself. It is one of the last true meritocratic things out there, where everyone on the field earned their spot through talent, determination, and a commitment to be better than other dudes that are often just as physically talented as them.
The game itself is amazing to me. It is often displaying the extremes of the human condition, sometimes even within one play.
You see the brutality of linemen slamming into each other, a collective couple of thousand pounds of muscle and strength just trying to overpower each other.
While that is happening, you see the grace and speed of receivers and d-backs shooting down the field, all the while battling each other for position and angle.
Then you see a QB, a lone man with the ball, out there like a field general, analyzing hundreds of constantly changing things in micro-seconds, trying to avoid being physically obliterated by the raging defenders with one single goal in mind: destroy him.
But, while that's going on, he's also trying to read defenders, contemplate tendencies, comprehend the assignments of every offensive player under his command, and then delicately try to launch the ball into an exact placement in anticipation of the arrival of a waiting receiver that's been fighting for position since the ball snapped.
We see the brutal pounding of guys slamming into each other, but also guys with delicate catches on fingertips while walking a tightrope of a sideline. We see men handed a ball behind an imaginary line of scrimmage and ordered to jump into the waiting pit of testosterone and aggressiveness that is the trenches. He's got to maintain control of this oddly shaped ball while the opposition tries to both take it away and bring him down with sheer force.
I could ramble on, but my point is there is literally no other sport like it. And I absolutely enjoy the heck out of watching it every year.
Good for you. I do feel bad for ya', though, because there is most likely no entertainment out there that will live up to your strict standards and litmus test.
Just a reminder, this forum is for those that still watch pro football and want to chat about it.
Folks are free to advocate their boycotts on a variety of other online platforms. Texans Talk is not one of them.

I actually really like the brand of football the Titans ran with last year. I think I enjoyed watching their matchup against Baltimore last season in the playoffs more than any game I’ve watched over the last several years. Minus the games the Texans dominated, of course.
I really want my football without distractions..that is what cheerleaders are for. Having said that many folks do not think it is politics they are focus ing on. Some folk didn't want their meals interrupted in white only restaurants. All of this protest BS is one of the reasons I haven't been here in a few months. Was it you that remarked that there is a place for political posts and this forum isn't it? Let's keep it to football here. Leave the political BS in the NSZ, where it belongs. I wonder if we would be where we are if the millions of dollars donated in just 2020 had been donated even five years ago? Would we be having riots if police had cleaned up their ranks before 2020?
What if we actually listened to each other and then did something rather than pat each other on back and say "see we talked about (it)."?
Discrimination is okay if I am not the one being discriminated. Anyway, play ball!
DocBar, IMO Nothing I said was political. In fact, I said those doing things don't see their actions as political. If you are going to compare anything, only use the MLB. NBA ratings would not apply as they are in a totally different situation. Their season was cut short, took a long layoff, then re-started with all the new changes, so some people could not be bothered to keep watching. NFL is starting fresh, and people are expecting the changes, so I do not think the 2 are comparable. If you noticed, MLB/NBA ratings are way down. I expect the same fate for the NFL.

There is NO PLACE for politics on this forum anymore - The NSZ got nuked.
Anyone who wants to talk politics can take it literally anywhere but here.
Clutchfans has a real nice place to talk politics where people call each other all manner of names ... It comes highly recommended for people who like arguing with disrespectful asshats.
Speak for yourself.Yep. There is a gray area when talking about the financial impact of modern events as it relates to profits, salary caps, etc. and the NFL. The impact itself (not the cause) is fair game for conversation, simply because it's part of the game. Salary cap management and player salaries are obviously things football fans talk about.
But, the political stuff. . .we're all adults, we know what's happening, so there is no need to rehash it here. Folks don't to go various political forums & comments sections to talk about football. So there is no reason to go to a football forum to argue and proselytize about politics.
Speak for yourself.
Insert weird snickering dog you guys like to post here....

I was actually just having a bit of fun. I don't post here nearly as much as I used to, so I don't remember you as being quite so serious.DocBar, IMO Nothing I said was political. In fact, I said those doing things don't see their actions as political. Vtech9 said stop political ....
I replied protesting against something is not political. Interesting that you and DB thinks it is. Both Vtech9 and I posted Weds but you chose to address only my post on Saturday. This is why some on here think some of you guys don't treat us all the same. You said nothing to him.
I don't think you were concerned or interested in what Vtech9 or I said. You just wanted to stick it to me. Well good for you.

Hopefully it will get there. It's been kind of a drag here pretty much all year.yeeeeah.... we're trying (hoping) to bring the fun back. Less hostility, more silliness. The world needs light-hearted stuff more than ever right now.
Thank you. That's Mutley You can post him by typing :Corrosion : without the space at the end!
