This might be a good thing in the long run

I know the Andre injury is a big hit to the team, but it might be a good thing in the long run. We'll get a chance to see who can rise up as a receiver.
Will it be Walter, Davis, Jones or Mathis? It's not that I'm happy about the Andre injury (it's going to hurt us). But maybe, just maybe, we will see another receiver leap out of the shadows. What do you guys think?

Colts quarterback Peyton Manning thought it was going to hurt in 2003 when Indianapolis played the New York Jets without his top target, Harrison. Instead, Manning threw for 401 yards in a 38-31 Colts victory. Wayne was in his first year as a full-time starter and had 141 yards receiving. Tight end Dallas Clark, then a rookie, had 100 yards, and Troy Walters added 88.

That's what Manning wants the Colts' defenders to keep in mind as they prepare for the Texans' lesser-known receivers.

"You certainly didn't expect it, but we ended up having a big passing day," Manning said. "Troy Walters stepped in; Reggie Wayne was really coming into his own at that point. So the old cliché is true - when one of your top receivers or top players goes down, there's an opportunity for somebody else to step up."
