Ok...I'm getting sick and tired of everyone thinking we need to start a new qb. It is fricking ridiculous. Here is what I got from the game:
1) Our D played damn good football. How many times did we stop them from getting a touchdown and hold them to a field goal? The D was put in a ****py position having to bail out a horrible offense. Look...if I am correct, we didn't give up a rush over 10 yards till late in the second quarter, or the beginning of the third. Don't know for sure. Lossman threw the ball, like twice all game towards D'Rob, and he was on Moulds for the most part when playing man D. Did they give up 22 points, yes...but how man times did the Buff O get the ball within our 50, or other great field position?
2) Palmer needs to be fired, Capers needs to be moved just to D-Coordinator, and we need to bring in a offensive head coach, somebody with a little bit of ba**s, flare, and creativity.
3. What were the main complaints this off-season; did not address the o-line, need a 2nd WR to compliment AJ? Yeah...I belive those were it, along with other things, but I believe those were the main ones.
AJ said it best when other people missed assignments. Hell, even my wife, who isn't a huge fan of football was asking me why Gaffney was running a sprint instead of trying to catch the ball that hit him in the shoulder. Damn ball would have been in his bread-basket.
4) The o-line cost us the game by not protecting Carr. Carr was sacked how many times from his strong side, not his blind side. Talk about missed assignments. Look, Buff D was outstanding, but there is no reason why we shouldn't have moved the ball a little bit easier than what we did. Carr had barely half a second to make a decision I'd say, at least 75% of the time he dropped back. An absolute embarressment. I wouldn't have minded giving up a first round pick for this years draft and next years draft for Pace...it would been worth it and would have made the game a little more interesting.
I'm still troubled by that there are people out their that think we need to start a different QB. When, reaslistically, has Carr been given the chance to succeed when he knew he had decent protection? None of you can answer that because he has NEVER HAD DECENT PROTECTION. He's been on the run since his first snap against Dallas in '02. Man, if I'm Carr, and I make it through this season, I'm going up to McNair and telling him if he doesn't shake things up with the o-line, I don't play till they do.
