He's basically an intern... some making it bigger than what it is
Then they should have named him a defensive QC assistant.
Naming him asst S/C coach, the Texans are either thumbing their poses at the NFL & it's policies, or they're as clueless as we think.
I'm praying for the former.

Plus even if it is strictly S/C Cush knows a lot about nutrition and working out to maintain strength through out the season and through out injuries. Listen to him on Arians podcast, he is very passionate about it
Word around the campfire is that he started juicing as soon as he stepped foot on the USC campus, and continued all the way through his NFL tenure.. he just happened to get caught a couple times.
Steroids not only give you the physical capabilities necessary to compete but also the mental attitude one needs to dominate the gridiron.
Personally.. I'd rather see everyone juiced to the gils (if they want to) and put on some truly miraculous games and feats of physical prowess.
Therefore.. who cares what he did and while it may be humorous given his new position.. you have to believe he probably knows what he's doing in the gym.. so, kudos.
That would lead to a Bodybuilding Competition type of move:
NFL: Athletes are all-natural.
XNFL: Extreme competition where the athletes are "max juiced". Less rules would be needed since the game could surely be extended due to penalties and ejections.
This is the worst suggestion ever. If you look at cycling, you had to be drugged off your face to even get on the tour in the 90s and 00s. It becomes a choice about whether to compete in the sport or not if PEDs are "optional".Word around the campfire is that he started juicing as soon as he stepped foot on the USC campus, and continued all the way through his NFL tenure.. he just happened to get caught a couple times.

Davenport responds to Cushing's training methods .
Cheater. Will forever be known as a cheater.
I hope all the players don't end up on maternity leave.
There is one sure fire way for that not to happen, just saying.
U mean use a condom?
linkAccording to Burke, many of the modafinil studies carried out in healthy participants found that the medication could boost energy, and participants reported less fatigue and better reaction time. A similar effect in people with dementia might help to improve social function and, by extension, brain health.
Anybody got any idea what happened to Cushing after the Caserio coup ?
His wiki page still lists the strength coach position but he's nowhere to be found on the Texans website.
Seems so long ago we raged over drafting Cushing or Clay Matthew. How important was it really? What defines important anymore are but silly fantasy games.

I remember wanting RS to draft Cushing and trade back into the 1st for Matthews. What could've been.
Yep, Fantasy Football is killing the sport slowly.
What sucks is the players that made this sport great got played squat and the players of today ride their coattails to become instant millionaires. While the older players can’t walk or pay their medical bills.
The Earl Campbell era guys were well paid for that time.
But not paid the generational wealth guys are paid today.
Pretty dang good for "union" guys, huh ?Under the current CBA, the NFL minimum will be a tad over a million by 2029.

In 1981, the average NFL salary was 90K.
Average N.F.L. Salary Is $90,102, Survey Says (Published 1982)

That's the equivalence of $272K today.
Today, the average NFL salary is nearly $2M.
That's more than 7 times than the Earl's era, inflation included.
