Still not sure how I feel about the new tailgate policies. I see positives and negatives to both. However, one thing did change on Sunday that is definitely not positive. At 4'oclock our group began packing up. While we were packing, a cop on a golf cart came by and told us to turn down our music, pack up, and get out. So, we turned down the music and continued to pack up. Five minutes later another cop on a golf cart came by and told us we had 10 minutes to pack up and leave and to turn OFF our music while we did it. Within a few minutes after that, while we were collapsing our canopy, yet another cop on a golf cart came by and told us we needed to leave now.
This is easily the rudest we've ever been treated in 6 years of tailgating in the Platinum Lot. Not only was it obvious we were packing up and leaving (about 30 minutes earlier than normal), but it was the first time we've EVER been harassed about it. I understand the feeling on the part of the Texans to tighten the rules a bit, but this is ridiculous. We paid a tremendous amount of money, paid extra for the tailgating passes, followed all the rules, and were packing up an hour after the game like we were supposed to and were still harassed.
I must say, if this is a glimpse into the future, we will have to think long and hard about sinking so much time, energy and money into this organization. Apart from the product on the field, this is the first time I've had a bad taste in my mouth about a game day experience.
