That's my belief as well.Quin would be moved to FS (not SS) if a CB is found in FA or draft. Nolan would be in the mix at SS if that occurs.

DE and ILB will be the strength of our defense as of right now. NT, OLB and Secondary are the question marks. I think the secondary can turn into a strength with Free agency and OLB will be improved in the draft.
Not a chance man. Sure the starters look good at those positions (ILB and DE) but we have no depth. The Texans need help across the board on the defensive side on the field.
Pretty sure if we were unable to add an OLB through the draft and FA, Cushing would be an OLB.
Can someone please explain to me why Cushing isn't the best fit for olb. When we first got wade I thought it was a match made in heaven with brian and wade.
Brian lacks elite athletism and doesn't have the arrary of pass rush moves needed. He's purely a bull rusher. I expect him to have a great season blitzing from the middle this year.

Thanx but you said he only has a bull rush. doesn't Mario pretty much only use his bull rush. It seems to work fine for him
I think Quinn will be the starting FS in the upcoming season...
If you get rid of both of your starting safeties, you had to have either thunk they sucked to high hell or that you had capable replacements on the roster...
Probably a combo of both...

Yes we need help, but that doesn't mean DE and ILB won't be our strength or that 2 CB pickups in free agency won't turn our secondary into something good.
I'd have to question the starters at ILB , who knows what Demeco Ryans will look like post injury and Cushing playing inside ? There are a lot of questionmarks at ILB.
DE looks good on paper , but how is MW going to make the transition to the 34 DE spot ? He's been knicked up the past two seasons , whens the last time he was 100% ?
Even in the 43 MW wasnt the disruptive force we expect him to be on an every down basis.
Right now , I dont know if I could say with a straight face that they have a strong position on the defensive side of the ball.
They could sign both Namdi & Taylor and that secondary could still be a disaster .... without some help at both S spots , and Im not sold on Quinn making that move.
With change there will always be question marks. Do the texans have question marks at ever position? Yes, they do. But they also have quality players at key positions as well.
No one know for sure how these players will adapt to the change. But one thing is certain. They can't be worse then last year. I choose to believe the best in our players and our coaching staff.
DL-I like mario and smith as DE
LB- I like ryans and cushing there as well, Big fan of barwin as well
Secondary- THink quinn makes an excellent FS.
One thing is certain - any time you think things cant get worse - you wake up and realize it could be worse.
I like MW and Smith as well .... Smith has already played the 34 end and done so at a high level.
LB - Ryans and Barwin are coming off of serious injury and a long layoff / rehab. As much as I like those guy's when healthy .... To assume those two will be back anywhere near 100% is just silly. Two seriously injured players along with Cushing are the strength of the team ? ..... Then we got more problems than we know.
Ok , so it turns out Quin makes a good FS - who ya got replacing him at CB ? Who ya got at SS ?
IMHO, we would be better served by keeping Quin at CB and signing FA's at CB and S. Let KJ play in the nickel and get his feet under him after a horrible rookie season. Throw the entire pocketbook at Asomougha. Whatever it costs, get him. Sign Sharper or one of the othe good FA S's and get on with it.There are questions at LB no doubt. But think of it this way. You'll have two 1st round picks and 2 2nd round picks in your starting LB. I think we'll be very pleasantly surprised by the LB unit.
I think a safety tandem of Quinn and troy nolen would be pretty good. Sign Johnathan Joseph and another veteran CB.

IF they are healthy .... and thats a big if.
Are you willing to gamble the entire season on the health of two guy's who had very severe injuries - If so , are you Rick Smith in disguise ?
Im not ....
IS this how our 3-4 would look like at the local YMCA today for starters
DE-A. SMITH
NT-Shaun cody
DE-Mario williams
OLB-Conar Barwin
ILB-Demco
ILB-Cushing/Sharpton/Diles/Adibi
OLB-Jamison/Anderson/Cushing
CB- Jackson
CB-Allen/GQ
FS-Troy Nolan
SS-GQ/Barber
