Winning culture missing
Instead, his shoes made him a center of attention, and then to have the Texans do nothing more than fine him a token amount of money, to basically tell him it was no big deal, opens the discussion to larger issues about the franchise.
It's that uncertain intangible thing the Texans have never had. It's not about berating people. It's about developing a culture of winning and accepting nothing less. The Texans never have played like it was the most important thing in the world.
That mentality can come from the coaches or the players or from the owner. But it has to come from somewhere. Right now, the Texans don't have it.
