Sexual Assault Suits Against Watson

Not commenting on DW here, but it's the same lawyer that parked a tank in the middle of River Oaks.

Buzzbee also representing the family of a boy who died during the cold/power outages in a suit against ERCOT. The suit seeks 100 million for the family

If something like this is true, doesn’t the nfl have some sort of language that won’t allow him to be traded while under investigation?
Just to be clear , this is apparently a civil suit , not a criminal one brought by the state.

This shouldn't affect the ability to trade him.

That said , from what I've heard , Caserio has no intentions of accommodating Watson's trade demand. Watson will play for the Texans or he won't play at all.

The signing of Taylor to an incentive laden contract was their backup plan should Watson hold out into the regular season (and consequently miss the entire year).

So this was when he was 15? Not saying these tweets are excusable
Yeah I get your point, the two tweets are at odds though.
“I never treat women with anything but the utmost respect”
*casually uses violent sexual imagery degrading women*

The juxtaposition isn’t that 15 year old Deshaun Watson lacked respect towards women, it’s that 25 year old Deshaun Watson is naive enough to make a catagorical statement denying something that is plain as day within his Twitter history.

The man is a great QB with a great contract. How do we get to this mess.

Trying to screw over some billionaires who made you the face of their franchise. Who paid you a historical NFL contract.

Without even reading this thread..........come on guys, really?
This kid didn't do what he is accused of doing. I am not happy with his demand to leave the team, but get real. He is a multi-millionaire and a target. What's more....is his demand to leave the team is setting a precedent in the NFL that team owners do not want and will not stand for, which is high value players dictating who they play for. The NFL does not want to become the NBA. If you are looking for a source for these "allegations" look no further than to the organization that has that kind of power. Damaging his trade value almost guarantees he stays in Houston and either plays/sits. This is most likely the NFL's doing.

This goes above and beyond the game and contracts at this point. This is a young man's life teetering on the brink of disaster. Innocent until proven guilty, lets not fan the flames of accusation without first seeing the burden of proof.

Thats the key part my friend, most are agreeing with what you are saying except the part about it being the Texans or NFL. Texans aren't some evil, corporation straight out of Hollywood and why would the NFL want to do something like this that so embarrassing them just to keep him in Houston? They already have enough issues with players doing this kind of think and it being splashed on the news, last thing they want is one of their new face of the league to be accused of it. I think sometime people forget behind the teams and league and everything else there are real men and women not movie villains.

Slow down there partner, first I'm pretty sure all of us said things at 15 that we would never say at 25 and even at 15 we usually had no real idea what we were saying we were just talking a big game. Posting stuff on twitter and youtube is stupid for this very reason because then it lasts forever but again lets be honest if those had been around when we were kids how many stupid things would we have recorded or tweeted that we can't live down now? Hell even on this forum how many times is a post somebody made years ago dragged up again and this is all in good fun with no lasting consequences. I'm not happy with Watson and from a business point of view I want him either to play for the Texans, let us get a king's ransom or his career be over but from a personal point of view I am in no way going to think that the words of a 15 year kid reflect the thoughts and attitude of a 25 year old man.

Hell for all we know that tweet is what taught him respect for women once his momma saw it and brought out the old, trusty wooden paddle. Its what mine would have done.

If they stick w/ the lawsuit, I wouldn't be surprised to see the NFL open an investigation of their own. If anything, I'd say this extends the timeline concerning completing a trade pending the completion of the lawsuit or NFL investigation. Really plays into the Texans hand if they're serious about trying to keep him here.
Sure does.
This makes his "righteous crusade" look like a child's tantrum.

I think that the odds of Watson playing for the Texans again just went WAY up. Like you said, his trade value will likely suffer. And if nothing else, the timeline of the trade gets taken out of the Texans hands. Even if his trade value doesn't legitimately suffer, it gives the team a bunch of leverage. They now just have to say, "you want to play again? it's going to have to be with us cuz you just screwed up your trade value son".
Do you think Texans can now "re-negotiate" his contract?

Vs him being extorted right? Gotcha

Can't stand the heat on your guy and why does it matter that I started this thread.

BTW, I will leave you with this, Busbee has a great track record of winning cases. He's very good at what he does. I would advise DW4 to be very careful about what he says and on social media.

Also I remember guys having to apologize for racist tweets they put on social media when they were young after they were drafted into MLB.

Are you suggesting a double standard?

Ooof! If this has any legs at all, that puts a MASSIVE hole in that squeaky clean image he was cultivating...think Kobe and his rape case before and after.....the only way this doesn’t flip on him is if the Texans org has something to do with this...

Still don’t want to trade him though...

Nothing to see here.

He was just looking for a happy ending.

Money grab even if he did what she claims.

Tend to agree.
I bet masseuses get these suggestions regularly and merely say they aren't that type of masseuse.
If he did nothing else but ask for a certain type of massage, then to choose a mark to sue because he is a wealthy, high profile person is gold digging.
There is a chance that Watson was under the impression the masseuse' occupation covered that type of thing.

Or it never happened. Maybe he asked for a massage on his ass because he just did butt day. There are no details other than he asked for an area to be massaged in which she was uncomfortable.

I recognize that as a rap lyric from 1 of lil Wayne’s songs...

Yeah thats the trouble with not citing your sources. Not everyone is going to catch something like that and then it just looks like you saying it. Even if they do catch it doesn't mean they will excuse it. Live by the tweet, die by the tweet.

not too long ago some masseuse was trying to say Peyton Manning sexually assaulted her at Tennessee, so these things happen with high profile nice guys from time to time. Of course we know that nothing really came of that...but...

& this is Complete speculation on my part and this has no bearing on his guilt or not, but I think DW4 knew about this potential suit WELL before this broke b/c it explains so much about this 180 he has made in wanting to be traded, why he hasn’t come out and spoken about why he wants to be traded or why he hasn’t really spoken at all.

With the current Cuomo situation, the atmosphere is explosive for sexual harassment charges. Might have something to do with the lawyer's timing. Has there been any indication of when the masseuse claims it happened?
