Rashad Butler IR'd

HOU-TEX

Ah, Football!
Per McGobbler tweet, he's suffered a torn tricep

Texans placed OT Rashad Butler on IR. Brought up Andrew Gardner from P squad. Signed Cody Wallace 2 P sqd.

Butler, top reserve at both OT spots, suffered torn triceps. That's a blow to O line.

Now this is going to be a HUGE problem. We're going to need a swing ASAP.........and not a rookie. I'd be curious to know if this were a football injury..............or weight training injury.

This sucks.

Guys in the trenches get their legs rolled on all the time. I'm worried especially if its Duane that goes down

Yeah, this is how we lost Pitts. Nick Mangold is out a few weeks after getting rolled up on last week. It happens a lot during inside runs because the linemen are trying to block around the RB and they get into a confined spaces with 300 pound guys going to the ground.

Linemen, either side, are at the heart of the team. You gotta have 'em. Not good news, but survivable if they get someone in quickly enough.

Not good news.....

I am also expecting some type of "payback" this week for our offensive line hurting a Saints D-lineman during a chop-block in pre-season.

Rough. Hopefully Newton is ready. The options after Butler were slim, luckily we have 2 guys that are tough, solid OTs as starters.

Would there be a difference in recovery time or ability to get back to 100% if it was a football injury vs. weight traning injury?

No, there wouldn't be a difference in recovery time or ability..........just a difference of how I possibly might view the training staff's methods.

EDIT: The L.A. Times writes that the injury occurred during practice.

The L.A. Times story said that Andrew Gardner will take his place.

So everything's cool. We have Andrew freaking Gardner.

Well, obviously.

What part of Andrew freaking Gardner don't you people understand. Man's a beast. He's a beast and a half actually. They weren't holding him back on the practice squad to "develop" him. They put him there to keep him from injuring defensive ends and linebackers all around the league. He's on the practice squad for their safety.

The Texans were hoping they could teach him to use his abilities in a controlled manner kind of like Professor X training young X-Men.

**** just got real. Andrew freaking Gardner IS ON THE ROSTER!

please let all of that be true.

I feel a little embarrassed panicking about all this now. Whew!

He's not really on the practice squad. He's chained up in a cage three miles below Reliant.

And the chains just came off.

Here's one of the few pictures I could find of this monster.

Word is this was taken when he was nine years old. He was already 6'6" and 270 pounds.

At Georgia Tech Tashard Choice ran so well not because the line opened big holes for him but because he was afraid Andrew Gardner was going to eat him if he caught him. True story.

MB posters seem to be getting nervous about Ryans. I'm cautious but not too. I'm probably open to taking BPA in top 4 rounds but to address needs.

I can see WR, ILB, DT working itself out with roster guys. Not so with oline. I think what we have will not get much better & while starters don't miss much time, we are thin across the line.

Above is mine from exchange of emails concerning next draft.
