Preseason...Game 3...Arizona Cardinals!!!

Not forgotten, but the Saints are terrible on both sides of the ball. The Cardinals will take advantage of our terrible tackling skills and the poor play from our safetys. Thank god it's only preseason.
On that note, The Cardinals offense hasn't been able to move the ball this preseason. The Charges shut down their offense with a mediocre at best defense. You really need to look at the stats from every game before making your assertions.

It's game 3 of the Preseason.. We will see what we got.. For the first half anyway.

If any position or player is exposed, now is time so coaches can work to correct it. I am thinking fans will go :freakout::overreact:.

Your probably going to be terribly disappointed. This game has the potential to be a severe beat down.
Our offensive line is in complete disarray.
Pass Protection and the Run Game will suffer.
Oz and the rooks are still learning the playbook and route timing
The Defense has been average, at best.

This could get ugly!!

We are STILL going to win! Our D will force turnovers and punts all day unless our O turns it over near their own red. Our rooks have speed and elusiveness. They can still flat out outrun most DB's if they don't respect them and still have a good chance of doing so when they do. A ball thrown anywhere near in front of an open Fuller is a touchdown. He is that fast and good at tracking long balls. Miller is soaking up his position like a sponge and growing with each game. He is an amazing football player and certainly a better emergency QB option than say Lechler. Defense will be awesome. They show the ability to quickly fix critical mistakes, like tackling. WE ARE GOING TO WIN!

It's the preseason. I couldn't give a rat's ass if we win. I want our starters to look good and play well, and no one to get hurt. But I'm not even concerned if we stink the place up... because it's the preseason. This is the time to make mistakes so you know what to correct.

A little tidbit of inside info....

In the cardinals oline room while watching film of the Texans last game against the Saints, Clowney was the big focus.

- Must stay low when engaging him
- do not EVER want to leave him one on one with a TE if possible and would always like to have help on him in some form.

Not groundbreaking info, but in case anyone doubted it or didn't know...opposing teams do view him as an impact player when he's on the field.

What's the point in being a fan if you are not willing to drown yourself in Kool-Aid? Going into a game thinking that you might lose is literally the most awful / dumb thing for anyone calling themselves a fan to do IMO. Even when the odds are stacked, games are played for a reason.

So you've gone into every game thinking we can't possibly lose?

I don't ever think we will lose until we do lose, unless we are down like 30-40 points. I strongly believe anything can happen on any given game day. Players can get hurt, coaches can go full retard, turnovers can happen, ect. There is a reason why games are actually played instead of just giving a team the trophy immediately.

I was just going off of your use of the word 'might', and those literally awful, dumb fans who have the audacity to use it.

I was just thinking that Covington has been playing pretty well himself.

I didn't ask about anyone actually was just told that about Clowney.

But I'll ask specifically about Covington. For you ❤️

Edit: I asked. Said they mentioned him. Were more focused on Wilfork and Clowney, but Mostly Clowney.

It's called the power of positive thinking. Why be negative about your own team, especially before you even play the game? If you think you might lose, you are start off behind the people who don't. Debbie downers and negative nancys are pathetic IMHO. I absolutely abhor them personally.

What is all this about negative and downers stuff? I was only talking about being realistic, or is that pathetic too and you're afraid it might put a pox on your team? And start off behind other people how exactly?

Anyway, I'm as optimistic as any fan (save maybe Ellis, BoP, or now Jamtex), but if you wanna buy into the Tony Robbins school of fandom, fair enough bud, knock yourself out. Just think you could maybe chill on all the pathetics and awfuls and dumbs until you can show your power of positive pom pom gargling has actually gotten us anywhere beyond the Divisional round.

I have been a member of this board since 2002 and I've never seen a freaking pre-season game get this much hype. Come to think of it, I've never seen any hype for a preseason game. Talking about match-ups, game plans last weeks performance, they're going to win (like it matters?)

Game planning, such as it is, will be extremely limited and play calls vanilla. I don't give a flying fig if they win. To tell you how much PS games matter, the year the Colts won the SB they were 0-4 in the PS.

What I look for is health of the starters and primary backups first and foremost. Second, individual performances and especially how it relates to any position battles. Third, I like to take a look at the incoming rookies and FA newcomers and get a feel for how they are progressing.

Anything beyond that is fools gold. Not trying to rain on anyone's parade or anything, and hey I do appreciate the enthusiasm (I think) it's just a little...I dunno...over the top for me. Maybe I'm getting too old for this ****!

I think hype is understandable with new QB making megga bucks, new RB that some in media compare to a young Foster, seemingly replace our FA center and right OG with #2 that most would start game one and Allen whom majority see as upgrade. #1 pick looking very good and Strong coming back..well strong...

Offense was what everyone wanted improved and so it seems has been. If Brown is able to hold his own, we should be about where we were last year

Let me try to explain my enthusiasm. First, rooting for your favorite sports team is supposed to be fun. You are supposed to have fun. Thinking about what will work and how well it will work or a player will develop is a lot more enjoyable than dwelling on injuries, past failures, and the uncertainties of our O-Line and the future health of our superstar Watt. Rather than think about us losing, I much rather believe that we have every opportunity to win. I find it enjoyable envisioning Fuller flat out burning opposing DB's for wide open touchdowns. I salivate at the thought of Miller mashing his figurative spin button and twirling his way for YAC. I cannot wait for Miller to hit holes with confidence. Above all, I dream of a future where we have our first at-the-very-least-legitimate QB since pre-injury Schaub to play with all these new shiny skilled toys in addition to the catch monster that is Hopkins. Oh and Strong is going to be HUGE for us this year. Basically, after what felt like an eternity without football, I AM AMPED!

Furthering that, the year the Detroit Lions set (dropped) the bar for all-time bad, their schedule/record in the preseason ...

W NYG 13-10
W Cincy 27-10
W Clev 26-6
W Buff 14-6

... the preseason is just calisthenics for the real season.

Good morning Texans fans!
Tomorrow our Texans will take on the Cardinals. It should be a good game.
As long as Brock can make quick, good decisions at the line and the O-line can give him just enough time, we should see even more improvement. According to O'brien, he is more interested in seeing the players getting a grasp of the system and how they perform. He sees it as more evaluation of the players rather than a must win. Don't expect to see the starters in the second half. They will be on a snap count similar to the first 2 games. I'm OK with that. I'd rather see some improvement and for the starters to come out of the game healthy. Of course we'd all like to see the Texans win, but it's more important to be healthy and ready to play in that first regular season game at home against the Bears.

Your probably going to be terribly disappointed. This game has the potential to be a severe beat down.
Our offensive line is in complete disarray.
Pass Protection and the Run Game will suffer.
Oz and the rooks are still learning the playbook and route timing
The Defense has been average, at best.

What in the absolute hell are you talking about? The defense forced turnover after turnover and didn't allow a single touchdown against a pretty damn good team in the Saints! The defense better than "average at best!"

Damn, I cannot believe this. For some reason I guess out of habit, I thought that the game was today. I had my pork loin in the slow cooker and was getting my "Game Supper" ready to go. Then I grabbed the remote and looked at the guide, and saw that there was no game today. So I Googled Texans preseason Television schedule, and seen that the game was tomorrow. :smiliepalm:

Average...... I don't get where you are coming from. The D has looked pretty dang good to me so far this preseason.

How's the loin?

It is far far better to be a day early than a day late except at the day of your death.

Good morning Texans fans! Well after False Start's false start yesterday, I hope every one has their pork loins in the slow cooker, briskets in the smoker and ribs getting ready for the grill. lol
Let's all just have fun today and enjoy the game.

ROCK AND ROLL TEXANS!!!

Totally tooting my own horn here, but see... we going to be OK! It's also OK to think positively.:koolaid:
