Lets see what the consensus is for our MNF Ravens game.

EDIT: Should be predict the outcome. Please adjust Mods.

I'm writing this as I watch the Ravens D just absolutely swarm the field and make awesome defensive stops in the second half of their game against the Steelers. The game's being played a few miles up the road from me. It makes me realize how much good football I've missed on local TV while scrounging for ways to watch my "hometown" (I haven't lived in Houston since before the Texans were founded) team these past couple of years.

For some reason that makes no sense at all, I actually think the Texans will manage to keep this close. They'll get a few extra days of rest, start the game slow, make The Adjustment at halftime, battle back, then go on and gag another one away on national TV.

The Ravens are rock solid against losing teams. They're 14-1 against teams with losing records during the Harbaugh era. We really should try that sometime.

If the Steelers defeat the Ravens, I believe the Texans can too

I dont agree with that. Did you see the TOUGH plays that Ben Roe made? Breaking out of sacks, arm tackles, scrambling when needed. Plus their D kept them in it. If the Steelers had to score 30 it aint happening. But when you keep the Ravens to 10 points anything is achievable. The Texans D will not keep the Ravens to 10 points. And the Ravens D probably wont allow the Texans to break 17.

I predict:

PAIN!!!

How long does it take a wr to run from one end of the field to another unincumbered?

well take that number divide 45 by it and multiply the result by 7 u have the ravens score....

then see how long it takes arian foster to get from the 16 to the endzone with 11 men trying to keep him from getting there

take that number divide 15 by it ...multiply the result by 7
that will be our score.
I guess you could add 14 to our score because we got schaub and dre

I voted Ravens by a lot, but now I'm thinking Ravens by a little:

Ravens 30
Texans 26

Texans have a 26-23 lead with just 3 seconds left in regulation. The Ravens have the ball at the Texans 40, setting up for a 57 yard kick to send the game into the overtime. Just before the snap, Kubes calls a timeout to ice the kicker.

Flacco uses the extra time to speak with John Harbaugh and reminds him that he is playing the Texans defense. After some thought, Harbaugh agrees that they are in fact playing the Texans defense. Flacco and the Raven offense then trot back onto the field where Flacco takes a snap and chucks the ball into the endzone. The ball is then deflected off Kareem Jackson's facemask into the waiting hands of T.J. Houshmandzadeh for the Baltimore victory. :logo:

I have a feeling its gonna be another one of those games where they (offense) play good but as usual the defense (lol) will choke it away. :choke:

Let's see. The Ravens just lost a crushing game in a hard nosed, hard hitting game where they basically gave it away. They are still fighting for a playoff place/bye. They have Suggs and Haloti Ngata and a host of other bad asses. The Texans have a QB that is jittery when pressured and gets happy feet (not an indictment on Schaub overall, just the truth). The Ravens offense just played a top defense but have been good the last 5 weeks or so with Flacco, Ray Rice and Boldin and Housh and Mason. Tough WRs. So a team with a chip, hard nosed and aggressive. Ravens 24, Texans 10.

Texans will get embarassed on National TV. Boldin, Housh and Mason against our defense? Pffft! Thrown in a little Rice. Pffft!

Has a team ever had 3 players with over 100 yards receiving? I think we might see history here.
:choke:

Ravens lead until the 3rd quarter where the Texans go ahead by 3 points. The Texans' lead holds until the last 2 minutes of the 4th quarter where the Ravens have the ball and it is 3rd and 29. Flacco hits some person for a touchdown. The Texans get the ball back but are unable to get a first down. Ravens go into victory formation and the game is over.

Ravens - 35
Texans - 31

I choose Option E:

Texans get blown out in the first half. Schaub throws for under 100 yards.

Texans make amazing comeback and take lead in early fourth quarter.

Ravens win the game late in heartbreaking fashion. I am leaning towards Schaub fumbling the victory formation handoff.

Its battle Red bag day at home with the light on Bright usually when we have MNF games with something on the line we Find some way to lose in the 4th Qtr

But once agian im a homer for something different

i think WE kick teh Ravens ASS !!!!!!!!!!!!!! :texflag:

Ravens 42
Texans 27

I see no possible way the Texans make a game of this. Yeah, sure, IF the defense shows up. You know what, it doesn't show up unless you're playing a D1-AA rookie on team that's opened up a big can of quit. That ain't the Ravens.

Then again, Joe Flacco is my fantasy QB and I'm fighting for my life to make the playoffs, so I could easily see a 3 or 4 INT game for Joe Flack. That's usually how my luck runs.

The more I think about it, the more I lean blowout Ravens. The Ravens
have a better defense than the Cowboys, and a more physical
defense than the Giants. The Texans will not come back on them
simply because Flacco does not make the mistakes Mark Sanchez
does. Ed Reed and Ray Lewis are gonna beat the **** outta Schaub,
once Kubiak panics and abandons the run.

I think the score looks something like 35-10 Ravens(touchdown for the
Texans against the Ravens Prevent Defense to end the game.)

Texans get smoked in the first 1/2 21-3. Texans come back in the 3rd qtr, make it 17-21, 4th qtr get blown out 35-20. Final.

Ravens - 30
Texans - 17

This looks about right to me. I think it'll basically be the same outcome as the Eagles game.

We'll get a decent ball game for a couple of quarters, but they'll end up running away with it.

It won't be an embarrassment, but it won't be a win, either.

Dunno about that. They absolutely throttled us in 08. Their team has gotten better since then, ours has remained the same. The only difference will be Schaub at QB rather than Rosypalms. I'm expecting a blowout

We may have a chance against the Ravens, but it all comes down to who can overpower the other in the trenches. This isn't the same Ravens D in years past but they're still capable of hitting you where it hurts.

My keys to the game:

1.) Run the ball and wear out the opposing defensive line.

2.) Contain Kelly Gregg and Haloti Ngata, I sure as hell don't want to see Myers get bitchslapped again.

3.) Score early and don't let down, go for big gains and not dumb 2 or 3 yard plays.

4.) Get to the QB and hit him.

Blowout. If our D can stop them on any possession, it will be a blessing each time. and I've seen NOTHING that says the Texans have it firing in a way that they can cover the 16 ppg average Baltimore is giving up all season.

38-10

I will personally be responsible for three Baltimore false starts and two wasted timeouts. So, factoring me in as a variable, I think this game could swing to Houston. I'll predict Texans 27 Ravens 24.

What? You are crazy! Steve Slaton is a LOCK for 2 kick return touchdowns, and with Schaubs dual threat ground game, he will pass for 2 and rush for 2. Also I predict that Amobi Okoye gets a trifecta, sack, strip, recovery for TD.

Guess you missed the Jets game where the Texans put 27 pts on a D giving up 17 ppg.

This is a pretty bleak thread. If the defense can fight and claw their way to a mediocre performance, I'll say the Texans win 24-20. If the defense plays as we can reasonably expect them too, I'll say 38-24 Ravens.

I'll correct myself on the traditional statent...

The Ravens are 4-7 all-time on Monday night, having a five-game losing streak since December of 2005.

I may be willing to change my prediction at this point...

:koolaid: :koolaid: :koolaid:

Will the Texans defense ever score points - either safeties or interception returns for TD in the last 4 games?
