I hear you, but remember when we'd see a good game from our offense one week, then didn't see anything like that for weeks on end?I think moving forward we could see a team that resembles yesterday's

I'd love to believe the dysfunction has left this organization, I'm just not there yet.
If Chase misses the game and there's a chance this could happen I could see the Texans pulling off an upset.
I'm a bit surprised @ArmyBengal hasn't come in this week yet, but it's early. I bet his son is loving the way Stroud is doing.Welcome, man.
Always good to see fans from other teams, and we've actually had several Bengal fans hang out here before.
Thanks for the info and your perspective. This is my first post, and as a Bengals fan I come in peace. You guys have been so exciting to watch this year. Congrats on the beginnings of a no doubt big time turnaround.
As to Chase nothing has been announced officially as to if he will play this Sunday. He is not one to play if he is not 100%. He was ruled out for 3 games last season and intentionally sat out a 4th one to ensure he was ready to go.
We also play the Ravens on Thursday for the top spot in the AFCN. That quick turn around along with Chase's reluctance to play injured likely means he will not suit up vs the Texans.
No Chase is definitely a plus for you guys. I will say however that he only had 4 catches this past week and the 4 games he missed last year we went 3-1. In those 4 games Burrow threw for over 1,000 yds with 8 TDs. We obviously had some guys step up, primarily Tee Higgins.
Assuming Chase cannot go, we will obviously lean on Tee again, as well as Tyler Boyd. We have a rookie that has shown some promise in Iosivas, a tall late round pick who has 2 TDs. Irwin is a steady, good hands vet that Burrow trusts. We also have another rookie coming off IR this week Charlie Jones who was beginning to show signs prior to breaking his thumb. He had a couple of catches and a punt return TD.
Before the win vs the Bills we had by far the absolute worst TE room in the league. Everyone wanted a trade at the deadline for a new TE. No idea what happened Sunday night but we had 3 TEs (one a practiced squad player) catch over 100 yards and 2 TDs. Much of that is likely Burrow getting back to full health.
The vast majority of our fans know and root for CJ due to his college days. We need the win to make up for our pathetically horrid start and I hope both teams come away from the game injury free. Thanks for allowing me to read and post here.
I have very fond memories memories of me gleefully seeing the Houston Oilers make the IN THE HUNT list back in the late 80’s/early 90’s. The Texans just popped back on that list today on Inside the NFL just now! We are IN THE HUNT, y’all!!!
P.S. don’t whiz on my cheerios or I’ll have to Stroud you! I’m gonna enjoy every second of this ride.

I’m sticking to my original prediction of 7-8 wins this season. Not making the playoffs won’t disappoint me as the team (as it currently stands) looks miles ahead of what they trotted out there the past three seasons. I’m more excited for the draft and how much better our team will be once we replace the JAGS with good players.
If (BIG If) we make the playoffs I will be proud but not expecting to make it past the wildcard game due to our front seven. I don't see them holding up to those offenses that actually have a good run game. Especially those with a dual threat QB.
I miss that NFL.My dad, an avid Bengals fan, would roll his eyes as my favorite player was Earl Campbell even with the Bengals being my team. Those tear away jerseys and violent runs were incredibly awesome.
IF we lose 5 out of the next 9 I'm not going to be happy about that & will want to see major changes. Not coaching/GM kind of major changes. But real change. Another track.I’m sticking to my original prediction of 7-8 wins this season. Not making the playoffs won’t disappoint me as the team (as it currently stands) looks miles ahead of what they trotted out there the past three seasons.
I was genuinely hoping that every single post in this thread was just going to be Jim Mora gifs and videos. We can't have a Texans' playoff thread without Jim Mora.

beating the Bengals & Browns would help as they're common opponents.
This is the kitties remaining schedule.

I'm right there with ya but I think they may drop 2.
We neee to sweep the Jags and win the division.
That schedule just got a bit easier with no Burrow (probably) and no WD40. Still good defenses they have to play though.
5-6 wins would give the 5-4 Texans 10-11 wins.Putting aside our game with the Jags I still see 5-6 wins for them which puts them at 11-12 wins.
This is what I expect. The wins start Sunday.5-6 wins would give the 5-4 Texans 10-11 wins.
By them I meant the Jags5-6 wins would give the 5-4 Texans 10-11 wins.
This season is already a success, playoffs or not
Jim Mora is an absolute legend for that. Still kickin‘ at 88. As soon as I saw the thread title I said that in my head as I’m sure every avid football fan does.I was genuinely hoping that every single post in this thread was just going to be Jim Mora gifs and videos.

I'm glad Stroud's doing well, but Brady, come on, is he going to be winning SBs in his 40's? DoubtfulI read somewhere that Tom Brady never played a snap in his career when he was mathematically eliminated from the playoffs. We may have that kind of quarterback .
There’s no Tyreek Hill, Travis Kelce, Christian McCaffree, or Chip Kelly gimmicky offense here.
CJ is shredding defenses with a common offense and cast offs from other teams that signed with a team most expected to have a top 5 draft pick next year.
I originally thought CJ’s floor was good Schaub but, it may be bad Brady.

I'm just hoping they can put talent around Stroud like the talent you listed, so Stroud can maximize his talent.
There is no doubt about it. They are way ahead of even my most optimistic scheduleThis season is already a success, playoffs or not

I've got them winning at least 4 more games. I see the Denver game as a trap game though. The rest of the schedule is in no way a walk through the park....as some may have alluded to.
WK12 H JAGUARS / Last 5: 4-1 / Road: 4-0 / A Really Tough Game
WK13 H BRONCOS / Last 5: 4-1 / Road: 2-2 / Suddenly, A Really Tough Game
WK14 A Jets / Last 5: 2-3 / Home: 2-3 / Texans Should Be Favored
WK15 A Titans / Last 5: 1-4 / Home: 3-1 / A 50-50 Game
WK16 H BROWNS / Last 5: 4-1 / Road: 2-2 / A Really Tough Game
WK17 H TITANS (See Above) / A 50-50 Game
WK18 A Colts / Last 5: 2-3 / Home: 1-4 / Texans Should Be Favored
I've got Texans with:
2- Games they should win.
2- Games are toss ups.
3- Pretty tough teams to beat. Broncos are not the roll over they were earlier in the season. Browns have an amazing defense and they've been winning games for the team. Jags are a different team on the road.
My big questions: Can the defense get healthy enough for a good push down the stretch? Will Slowick keep his first half offense operational for an entire game?
I still expect 10 wins. Before the season started, how many of us expected to be having this conversation?![]()
That game is not a trap game especially since the Broncos are playing so much better here lately. They have won 4 in a row. In that span they beat the Chiefs 24-9.I've got them winning at least 4 more games. I see the Denver game as a trap game though.
I still expect 10 wins.
