I'm tired of seeing the same old mocks, so i've decided to change my opinion for a bit and see what happens if i play around with some picks. it's been a slow day so i've decided to post which players i would most like to see in a Texan uni.
Now i have been seeing a lot of mocks recently that have winston falling to the bottem of the first/top second. This will not happen.
after reviewing film of top LT's and Pitts, i have come to the conclusion for today that i would rather trade down to about spot 8-10 and draft Winston. I would startwinston off at RT for a year, and then put him at LT.
Winston has proven to be a better run blocking T than Furgeson and has held his own to him in pass blocking against better comp.
I have also seen MANY mocks that have Ahmad Brooks slipping out of the first. I feel this is unlikely, but i would like to see us pick him up in the second if he is there.
Assuming we get another second from the trade down, i would also like to see us persue one of the top 3 safty's. Idealy, huff falls, but i would be happy with either of the top three.
In the third im going to assume we have three picks now: our own, NO's pick, and the pick from the trade down. The first place i look now is Elvis Dumervile for pass rush. Next, i look for some run stopping DT's. The first one that sticks out this late would be Orin Harris. With our third third round pick, i look for a big, run blocking OG. I find that in Taitusi Lutui from USC.
In this senerio, in the fourth we only have our own fourth round pick. We attempt to address our TE problem by taking David Thomasfrom UT.
Recap:
1. Winston
2. Brooks
2. Huff
3. Dumervile
3. Harris
3. Lutui
4. Thomas
thats a lot of picks, and a lot of players who fill holes. What do you think?
