Thanks for your support!
Ok, so why does this hire deserve not one, not two, but three exclamation points?
He worked on the Denver Broncos staff from 2000-2002 when Gary Kubiak was the Broncos offensive coordinator.
I'm shocked, SHOCKED I tell you! :mariopalm:
lol, that's what I was thinking. I had to Google his name to see if I should be impressed.Ok, so why does this hire deserve not one, not two, but three exclamation points?
I got no problem with who he hires on the offensive side, it's just the defensive guys that were really called to question. :kubepalm:

No love for Karl Dorrell?

Former UCLA coach Karl Dorrell will be one of the candidates to replace Mike Sherman as the Houston Texans' offensive coordinator next season according to the Houston Chronicle.
When coach Gary Kubiak was offensive coordinator at Denver, Dorrell was the Broncos' receivers coach for three seasons (2000-02) before he left to become UCLA's head coach. Dorrell was fired by the Bruins earlier this month.
Kyle Shanahan, who has coached receivers and quarterbacks in his two seasons with the Texans, also is a candidate to replace Sherman, who was hired earlier this month as the new coach at Texas A&M.

That article is no longer available at the Chron. Dorrell is with the Dolphins now.
Shocked that he hasn't been with the Texans, yet. Didn't know there were any FOKs left that hadn't been hired/fired.I'm shocked, SHOCKED I tell you! :mariopalm:
Happens all the time with Coaches. You scale up and down that ladder....all nomad/gun-for-hire jobs. Dolphin gig ain't chopped liver. From HC of a major college program to a mere position coach ? This guy is definitely way overqualified and that's a real drop in money and status and responsiblilty.
The Texans have hired Karl Dorrell as their new quarterbacks coach to replace Greg Knapp, the Houston Chronicle reported Tuesday.
Dorrell, 48, was the receivers and quarterbacks coach for the Miami Dolphins this past season. He knows Texans coach Gary Kubiak from when they were both on the Denver Broncos' staff under Mike Shanahan -- Kubiak as offensive coordinator and Dorrell as receivers coach.
Dorrell left the NFL in 2003 to become head coach of the UCLA Bruins. He was 35-27 in five seasons before the Bruins fired him.
The Raiders hired Knapp to be their new offensive coordinator last week.
ahhh im late...delete or merge thanks

http://sports.yahoo.com/nfl/news;_ylt=AiaTtEnaR3dXyXCf1d9BfiBDubYF?slug=ap-texansmoveHOUSTON (AP)Karl Dorrell has joined the Houston Texans as quarterbacks coach.
A former head coach at UCLA, Dorrell spent the last four seasons with the Miami Dolphins as QB coach. From 2008-10, Dorrell served as Miamis wide receivers coach.
In his five years at UCLA he compiled a 35-27 record and led the Bruins to a bowl appearance each year. In 2005, Dorrell was the Pac-10 Conference co-Coach of the Year after leading UCLA to a 10-2 record, a No. 16 ranking and a Sun Bowl victory against Northwestern.
Dorrell also served as wide receivers coach with Denver from 2000-02, working with several current Houston coaches, including head coach Gary Kubiak.
Karl Dorrell has joined the Houston Texans coaching staff as quarterbacks coach, the team announced Friday. Dorrell brings 24 years of collegiate and professional coaching experience to the Texans, including the last four seasons with the Miami Dolphins.
In 2011, Dorrell oversaw a career season for Dolphins QB Matt Moore, who took over as the teams starter in Week 5. Moore set career highs with 210 completions on 347 attempts for 2,497 yards and 16 touchdowns. He ranked fourth among AFC passers with an 88.7 passer rating after taking over as the starter and tied or set single-game career highs for passer rating, touchdown passes and longest touchdown pass.
From 2008-10, Dorrell served as the Dolphins wide receivers coach. In 2010, Dolphins WRs Brandon Marshall and Davone Bess combined for 165 receptions, the fourth-highest total by a duo in the NFL. Bess totaled 209 receptions from 2008-10 under Dorrells guidance, the most by any Dolphins player in his first three years with the team.
Prior to coaching at UCLA, Dorrell was wide receivers coach with the Denver Broncos from 2000-02, serving with current Texans head coach Gary Kubiak, offensive coordinator Rick Dennison and tight ends coach Brian Pariani. WR Rod Smith posted a pair of 100-reception seasons, earned his first two Pro Bowl selections and eclipsed the 1,000-yard mark three times under Dorrell. In 2000, WR Ed McCaffrey posted 101 receptions for 1,317 yards and combined with Smith for 201 receptions, 2,919 receiving yards and 17 touchdowns.
Dorrell also worked with the Broncos staff during training camp in 1993 and 1999 as part of the NFLs Minority Coaching Fellowship program.
Well he did seem to make Matt Moore look like a real QB. Wonder what he can do with Yates?
