I moved away from Houston a few years ago, but I still closely follow all the hometown teams - especially the Texans. I'm not gonna wade into all the talk about the draft (even though I'm happy with our draft) because that's been covered elsewhere in detail.

What I would like to ask is how anyone in Houston can take anything that comes out of John McClains mouth/pen with more than a grain of salt?

Aside from the fact that he continually refers to Gary Kubiak as "Jerry Kyoobiak", I want to ask one question:

Is John McClain the most ignorant person on the planet?

Answers on a post card please...

Nah.. McClain is intelligent.. he is also very well connected in the NFL and does get some good scoops sometimes.

The only things McClain lacks are:

- A Backbone
- Loyalty to his hometown team
- The ability to abandon the team that abandoned him

yeah, I won't diss McClain, either...but, he is Bud's best friends, so all of his takes are through colombia blue glasses.

I think there is more self-interest in his takes than anything, because controversial opinions = higher ratings (we all love to hate someone like him). And Young with the Titans is a great story from a Houston beat writer's perspective.

He is one of my favorite NFL writers, but he was the Oilers beat writer for a long time, but I think his loyalties followed Dud to TENNhead land. He is allowed his opinion and it is not like he is alone in his opinion. I think the further we get from the draft and the more we realize what the team is trying to do the better most of us will feel. The Vince lovers will remain Vince lovers and we will have to put up with them bandwagon jumping the Titans. I hate to think how low they must feel to now have support Dud Adams.
