Here is the real story on Gado...If you do the research you will find this to be true.
1. Knee Injury is a non-issue. AT ALL. He almost played the next week. Sherman held him out. This is FACT. He was 100 percent at all OTA's in GB.
2. Kubiak's system actually looked good to me at times, except lundy and dayne turn decent holes into three yard gains. As I watched the game, the whole time I knew if Gado got in there he would break one, and he did.
3. I followed this story last year and he is the real deal. He is not a cull from another team at all. The new coaches in Green Bay will be the staff between Sherman's Division Titles and the next gen of packers.
4. Ahman Green is a future hall of famer. Samkon was not "their" guy, so they had no loyalty to him.
5. Doesn't it speak volumes that Sherman discovered this guy, and then immediately acquired him? I bet in Sherman's second meeting with Kubiak he told Gary, "we gotta get this Gado kid..."
6. Gado had the most rushing yards vs the Steelers of any single running back last season in just his second NFL game ever.
7. Gado has the Rookie record in the GREEN BAY organization history for TD's and rushing yards in a game. That's green bay now, the epicenter of all things 4 yards and a cloud of dust...
Do a google search for Al Saunders and Samkon Gado, or Dick Vermiel and Samkon Gado, and see what these guys had to say about Gado even though they cut him.
KC had Holmes, Richardson, and Johnson. Johnson was the back up then and was on contract for 2 million. Hard to make that team for a running back free agent.
Vermiel called Gado at home when he was signed by the Packers to congratulate him.
Mark my words. three weeks from today, this town will be Samkon Gado Crazy in two weeks!!
