Those of you that have DVR'd the game, what happened to "head to head cottact" whenever Bernard Pollard hits v. Walter @ 11:46 pg the fourth quarter...SO, WHY was that not a penalty????

Then again 69 year olf Matt Turk shanks one"!!! So that's awesome!!!!

Let's look forward to next season!!! How cliche??? *rollying my eyes**

One thing I've noticed, and I could be wrong of course, but after watching all of the playoff games this year maybe the NFL told the refs to let them play this tournament.

After all the talk about the wussification of the NFL this year and now with the others watching (non-fans that only watch playoffs) they would want to turn of game back up a notch.

Just a theory I wouldn't put past the NFL.

It should have been but the refs were letting both defenses get away with a lot. I loved it. I wish they officiated every game like that. #GoodellsRuiningFootball

Mike Pereira said on Twitter that it should have been called. But i've seen alot of helmet to helmet contact in this playoff and it looks like they're just letting them play which i have no fault in.

Really? I was actually being somewhat facetious!!!

I'm ok with the no-call too... but they did call a bad one in the Packers/Giants game. Osi Umenyiora made a legal hit on Rodgers, in this event, Rodgers head snapped back and barely grazed Osi's helmet. They called helmet-helmet contact. It was 3rd down, Packers should've punted, but they got 15 yards and a 1st down instead, which led to a TD. Good thing it didn't matter in the end.

Just look at your handle to see why it was called. The NFL is weeping right now that GB didn't win. Granted they got a NY team, so they probably aren't weeping inconsolably.

That was one of the worst calls I've ever seen. Osi hit him with an arm to the midsection yet its a helmet to helmet? That's a big whiskey tango foxtrot call. The refs tried to help gb out with that call and the fumble that wasn't.

LOL.
When I saw the thread title, I thought you were asking about something that might happen in a Sasha Grey video...

Seems the refs where instructed this weekend to just let whatever happens happen. Except for the GB game. Boy did the bull**** penalties come out of the woodwork when GB was falling behind.

Bill Leavy is one of, if not the worst, official in the league. He is the one that jacked up the "fumble" call against TJ in the Falcons game.

Really!? I thought no flag was thrown? What I saw was leading with the crown. Rodgers ended up slamming the back of his head on the ground. It was after that tackle that I thought... hey, they're going to let them play! Which is exactly what I want.

You may be thinking of a different play. This one was in the 4th quarter around the 6 min mark.

When one team ends up with 0 penalties, and the other only a few (that would've been hard to ignore), it's pretty clear the refs were letting things go that they would call in other situations. Overall, I think the game was much better as a result.

As for helmet to helmet, it goes both ways. I saw a Cushing hit that was pretty clearly helmet-to-helmet, but wasn't called. That was a good thing - it was basically a good, normal tackle, but it happened that their helmets hit first. But, in previous games, I've seen helmet-to-helmet called for less.

I don't remember the play but the majority of the time helmet 2 helmet is called is when a QB or defenseless WR is involved. Like keyser said Cushing got away with one but the tackle was against a runner and he didn't leave his feet and spear him.

The missed call that irks me was when Boldin pushed Allen's head down in front of the ref that was spotting the ball. He definitely should have been called for a personal foul on that one.

I did like the fact that the refs kept the flags in their pockets and let them play.

Because his name is Bernard Pollard and not James Harrison and he plays for the Ravens and NOT the Steelers.
