Oh, if it weren't for the Flores stuff, I have no doubt McCown was a serious possibility. They're just not going to take that heat now of hiring a white coach with zero experience over a ton of minorities out there better qualified. Not that it should matter if that's who you want, but that's the world we live in and the Texans seem to be pretty spineless in it.
Couldn't care less what he did in college. College and pros are so different just with getting players that it isn't even apples and oranges. It's apples and sawdust.
But Lovie's last gig as an NFL HC he was 8-24. He had a few top 10 defenses in Chicago and won some games. Don't think he's ever had an offense worth much, and he'll have neither here. Don't have a real issue with hiring Lovie, other than for why they had to go there to begin with, and the fact that I'd rather have someone in the ranks and on the rise instead of someone nearer the end, who's simply a stop gap. I would have been fine with Gannon, O'Connell, Lombardi, maybe even DeMeco, though I think he could use a little more seasoning maybe, who knows? But McCown? No way in hell. Hines Ward? No thank you. That's what, 2/5ths, of the guys they interviewed? What the ****?? And now they're passing on all of them?
If they're going to hire Lovie now, they should have just done it last year instead of Culley and we wouldn't be going through this bullshit. But now, we'll be doing this **** again in a year or 2 most likely. Again, nobody in that building has 1 ******* clue what they're doing. They still have no plan, no vision, no direction.
