Well unfortunately there are no real ball-hawk FS's in the draft that would be worth spending a 1st on that I can see. The CB's also don't really blow me away (Vontae? Davis is somebody I would like the Texans to shy away from). Being in the middle of the draft means that you can't really pick and choose what great players you'll have a chance at. Hopefully Smith can pull some magic and get us more players than 6 or 7 in the draft.
With the DL being taken, you also have to remember that it went Travis Johnson, then we changed regime's and defensive philosophies, Mario who is a stud, and then Okoye who looked underwhelming last year. TJ probably won't make a contract extension and we might not see what Okoye can really do until next year or possibly even the year after (remember, he's about as young as you can go draft wise). If the best player available at our pick is a DE or a DT, and we can't trade, then go ahead and pick em I say. They do fill a need.
