A former Baltimore Ravens cheerleader was indicted Monday on two counts of third-degree rape, four counts of unlawful sexual contact and three counts of providing alcohol to minors.

Molly Shattuck appeared for an arraignment Wednesday in a Delaware courthouse and was released on $84,000 secured bond.

Shattuck pleaded not guilty to the charges, her defense attorney Eugene Maurer said.

"Like anybody who would be charged with an offense of this nature, she's quite distraught and dealing with it the best she can," Maurer added. "Obviously, she's very upset about it."

On Sept. 26, a 15-year-old boy told police that Shattuck began an inappropriate relationship with him near Baltimore and that it culminated with sexual activity at a vacation rental home in Bethany Beach over Labor Day weekend, said Delaware State Police Sgt. Paul Shavack. Police executed a search warrant on Shattuck's Maryland home Oct. 1 and seized items. Shavack declined to specify what they were.

The indictment alleges Shattuck provided alcohol to three underage boys on Aug. 30 and Aug. 31 and had sexual contact with one of the boys near Aug. 31.

In Delaware, third-degree rape offenses apply when an older person has sex with an underage person. Shattuck is facing two to 25 years in prison for the Class B felony charge.

In a letter sent Wednesday to parents, the headmaster of the school the teen attends — the McDonogh School in Owings Mills, Maryland — wrote he became aware of "inappropriate behavior by a current parent" and a student on Sept. 24 and reported the allegations to police.

"While I was instructed by the police not to communicate with you until now because of the criminal investigation, I want you to know that the parent has been prohibited from entering McDonogh's campus and additional security measures have been in place to assure the safety of students since the incident was reported," Headmaster Charlie Britton wrote.

Shattuck became the NFL’s oldest cheerleader in history when the Ravens chose her to be on its quad. Shattuck also was a part-time coach for two years as well.

Shattuck is also separated from Mayo Shattuck, former CEO of Constellation Energy Nuclear Group, a Baltimore-based company. He is also the current chairman of Chicago-based Exelon Corp. Exelon, which has electric and gas utilities in Maryland, Illinois, and Pennsylvania, now owns Constellation.

If she really did this, she's going to let a lot of people down:

Former Baltimore Raven’s Cheerleader Molly Shattuck has decided to use her powers for good instead of evil. She’s a mom, she’s formerly the oldest member of the Ravens cheerleading squad at 38, she’s a rich socialite, she’s hot, she’s climbed Mt. Kilimanjaro and she’s active in public service. Basically, she is one of the greatest people on the planet that should make you take a hard look at your life and realize how little you have done with it. Well, she’s so amazing that she decided to show up on Fox’s television show Secret Millionaire to slum it for a week, find some needy people who deserve a break and then give them one.

In this case, Molly gave out checks of $20,000 each to two different people, a yard full of toys for a bunch of needy kids and a check for $100,000 for a lady who runs a food pantry but her own house is falling apart around her.

Saw another story with someone talking about how inspirational she was for other reasons....

Hope the kids aren't fibbing...

Something about that photo kinda raises a red flag for me, but I'm not sure exactly what it is...? Does that look like your usual family pic? Perhaps I'm off, here?

She was doing a swimsuit shoot for SI...

They took a snap of her and her kids, but didn't use the photo

Not surprising. Seems like women today think they have to sleep with much younger men to prove they are still attractive. They don't understand that all men are dogs, and that if that same hole were only found on rotting corpse zombies we would still hit it ...

Speak for yourself there...

My point was that young guys aren't sleeping with these women because the women are hot. It's because they are easy. Doubt that 15 year old really cared. Doubt the 22 year old at the bar cares much either. Sad what some women have become to feed their own ego.

Well that's great but I'm not a dog and if there was a rotten zombie vagina laying in front of us I'd let you have it. :fingergun:

Let's find out she is actually guilty before we stone her, kids do lie. Especially boys whose hormones have just begun to rage.

But you have to be a special kind of idiot to have sex with a minor. I mean at her age what diffrence does it make to have sex with an 18 yr old? I don't know why this is news becuase there is a very good chance this imbecile will get a mere slap on the wrist because she's a woman.

Yep, she should be thrown in prison just like any sex offender and be labeled as one. There are plenty of 18-21 year old males looking for a good time, so it's not like she didn't have choices.

They both have a reading on the red flag-o-meter for me. The one in the house, the kid with his arm around her waist. Looks like she's in the process of grabbing the hand and moving it north. Looked strange to me right off the bat.

I couldn't tell if I was thinking that on my own or due to power of suggestion.

Don't forget about that suggestive banana that's halfway in the bowl.

I kid. I didn't read anything into the photo, but I get how someone might.

Because being indicted on two counts of third-degree rape, four counts of unlawful sexual contact and three counts of providing alcohol to minors, obviously means she did nothing wrong?

This is a court of public opinion. We get to try perps before the justice system.

And this skank is GUILTY.

I know this is a totally sexist double standard, but I just can't raise much give a **** about teenage boys getting laid unless there is an element of coercion.

Must spread negative rep. And I seldom do neg reps.

Sorry, but you're part of the problem here.

Sorry, but you're part of the problem here.

What exactly is the problem here? Do tell ...

Do you seriously think this women "raped" a 15 year old? He was hopping on that **** so fast he looked like Barry Sanders hitting the hole (all the pun in the world intended). Statutory rape if the person is a more than willing participant is a joke. Now, some could say it is different if the impressionable youth is female ... and it is. Sexist? Nope. Realistic. If an older man convinces a young girl to have sex underage and she gets pregnant then it leads to a life changing decision made by someone probably not mature enough to make it. If a 20 something teacher lets a 15 year old boy play in that mud-hole then he is probably simply the wiser for it. Do you really think 15 year old boys aren't already getting laid? Would you rather them impregnate a 14 year old girl or get a lesson from a horny older teacher? If it was my 15 year old, I would prefer the latter ...

pass a negative rep my way as well. i'd still be singing praises of the time in highschool when i nailed a "milf cheerleader", especially if she was awesome enough to bring beer. the double standard is alive and well.

Pretty much this. There is a double standard for the simple reason that men and women are wired differently. At 15 I knew what I was getting myself into. And I was trying to get myself into everything :whip:

I know some people want everything to be totally equal, but reality is its not. There's a reason men have been paying prostitutes for centuries.

If you haven't been wrongly accused, you'll never believe how little is required for an arrest. It takes little more for an indictment. Unfortunately, that IS sufficient in a trial by public opinion who always thinks the smoke was caused by the accused rather than others.

Your lack of concern for the welfare of the boys is certainly understandable considering your state of mind and world view.

But some of us disagree with it.

What if she decides she's "in love" with the boy and turns it into a romantic boyfriend/girlfriend thing? What if he decides he's "in love" with her? What if he continues to see her after you tell him not to? What if he decides he wants to marry her? What if he gets all Romeo and Juliet dramatic about it?

There are plenty of kids susceptible to overly dramatic reactions to relationships... who are emotionally powerless in the face of adult manipulations.

That's true.

Ex-Ravens cheerleader Molly Shattuck pleads guilty to rape

Baltimore socialite and former Ravens cheerleader Molly Shattuck pleaded guilty to statutory rape Tuesday, admitting in a few brief words to an affair with a 15-year-old boy — a plea that leaves her branded as a felon and a sex offender.

Shattuck, 48, the former wife of former Constellation Energy CEO Mayo A. Shattuck, was accused in November of having a relationship with one of her son's classmates, including performing oral sex on him in a rented vacation house in Bethany Beach.

She kept her head down as she entered the small courthouse and gripped the hands of two women as she bustled into the courtroom. Seated at a trial table with her attorney, Eugene Maurer, she jerked up from her seat when Judge E. Scott Bradley entered, and she showed no obvious emotion.

The judge leafed through the plea agreement before posing a series of questions. "Did you commit the offense you are pleading guilty to?" he asked.

"Yes," Shattuck said.

No statement of facts was read in support of the plea, and prosecutor John Donahue did not take part in the proceeding.

Shattuck, a self-styled fitness guru who was the oldest cheerleader in NFL history, could face up to 15 years in prison for the fourth-degree rape charge when she is sentenced at a hearing set for Aug. 21.

A number of other charges, including more serious third-degree rape counts, were dropped as part of the plea agreement.

Michael W. Modica, a former Delaware prosecutor, said the deal seemed typical. He said sentencing guidelines call for up to two years in prison, but noted that they are not binding on the judge.

"I don't think she was treated any differently because she was a woman," said Modica, who is now a defense attorney. "She's looking at a pretty serious potential sentence."

As part of the plea, Shattuck agreed to forgo any unsupervised contact with children, except her own, and to have DNA and HIV tests as well as a mental health evaluation that will include "sexual disorder counseling."

Perhaps the most serious consequence of the plea, Modica said, is that she'll have to register as a sex offender. Shattuck's plea calls for her to register for 25 years on Delaware's list, and because she lives in Maryland, Delaware police will notify Maryland officials, who will consider whether she needs to register under Maryland law.

Modica called having to register a burden she'll carry for a long time and "almost worse than a jail sentence."

The affair began in May 2014, when Shattuck began a flirtation with the boy — a McDonogh School student — on the social networking site Instagram, according to an affidavit for a search warrant filed in Baltimore County District Court.

The Baltimore Sun does not name victims of sexual crimes.

As the relationship developed over the summer, Shattuck took the boy out of school to kiss him in the back seat of her Escalade, according to the documents. Then over Labor Day weekend, she brought him on vacation with her children to Bethany Beach and performed oral sex on him twice, investigators alleged.

Just months before, Shattuck had sat for a Baltimore Sun interview that showed her confidently working through her separation with her husband and forging a new, independent identity. But the sexual abuse allegations left Shattuck's carefully crafted image as a devoted mother and charity worker in tatters.

The Shattucks' divorce, which ended a 17-year marriage, was finalized days after a nine-count indictment against her was unsealed in November. Custody arrangements for their three children have not been publicized, but Modica said her ex-husband could use the rape conviction as ammunition in any dispute.

As she awaited trial, Shattuck was free on an $84,000 bond. Her guilty plea came the day before a hearing that was to be the last before the case headed to trial.

After the hearing, Shattuck stood motionless in the courtroom for a few moments, looking toward the benches where about a half-dozen reporters were grouped. She then wandered back to the trial table and stood there until one of her lawyers called to her and led her into the public gallery.

Shattuck signed some paperwork and Maurer took her into a private room to talk.

Outside, some onlookers waited on the pavement in front of the courthouse eager to see who the news cameras were waiting for.

Shattuck, surrounded by a group of women who had been with her all day, emerged from the building and crossed the street to a waiting SUV. She ignored the shouted questions of reporters, as did her lawyers. She got in on the driver's side and one of the women held a purse against the window, blocking the view inside until the vehicle drove off into traffic.

Trinity Goldsborough watched from inside the bail bonds office where she works, a phone pressed to her ear. She knew about the case.

"It is crazy," Goldsborough said. "Hopefully she got what she deserved."

Molly Shattuck, Ex-NFL Cheerleader, Sentenced to 48 Weekends in Jail for Rape

The ex-Baltimore Ravens cheerleader who pleaded guilty to having sex with an underage boy she met on social media was sentenced Friday to 48 weekends in jail.
Molly Shattuck, 48, appeared to sob as a Delaware judge ordered that she serve every other weekend in jail for two years. The judge also ordered that Shattuck pay the victim's family $10,650 and register as a sex offender, according to NBC affiliate WBAL.

"I will spend the rest of my life making this right," she said.

The family of the 15-year-old victim told the judge that Shattuck's actions have been "devastating" for their son, the station reported.

Can't help but wonder, if the victim had been female and suspect a male, if the sentence would have been so light.

No doubt. Weekends is nothing, it's jail not prison, and typically segregated with other weekenders.

...Shattuck's defense lawyers blamed her ex-husband leaving her for a younger woman as the reason she turned to the teen for her crime.

The victim's parents asked the judge for incarceration, saying the impact on their son has been "devastating" and called Shattuck a rapist.

It wouldn't have been. But sexist as it is, I don't get why this is devastating to the kid.

Me either. I realize everyone is different but 15 year old me would have been just fine getting "devastated" like that. Sounds like hyperbole and bullshit to me. Having trouble coping with it sure. "Devastated"? Seriously?

What if he wasn't ready for sex? Or his first encounter? Or he was gay?

Not every kid is emotionally mature enough to brush off being the object of an adult's sexual fantasy acted out on them.

ROFL, yep, when a woman gets in trouble, you can be damn sure it was a dirty evil man's fault.

Also, 48 weekends is a joke.

Also, she is a rapist.

Everyone KNOWS the answer to that. But few would actually say it for fear of offending the professional victims. Some victims are more EQUAL than others.

Getting paid 10 grand to sleep with a great looking woman. (Cheerleader)

Ahhhh the life, when I was 15 I know I would've been jealous.

Not everyone considers sexual activity to be harmless and frivolous entertainment. But I understand your confusion.

LOL, you declare "nothing good happens between 10 pm and 6 am" and I'm the one confused about sex.

He can sue in civil court where the purpose is compensation. (although he'd likely get laughed out of court by the jury)
