Don't throw out that Carr jersey – improve it

I just popped off a few lines of sequins, squeeked in a new line or two and I'm good for another year!
Hey, customizing a jersey is expensive so I'm glad to keep the same number.
After all, it's the MAN in the jersey that matters to me, not the number he's wearing!:texflag: See ya Saturday:fans:

Here's the Houston Chronicle's instructions on how to convert your jersey:

Personally, I would recommend spending a few extra dollars getting a T-shirt/monogram shop to do the iron on letters. Their press is hotter and the letters will stick better. It doesn't cost much.

I'm sorry, but that's some funny stuff right there! :tv:

I'm still a Carr fan...:gun:...but I also have a sense of humor as well.

Okay, I just took one of my Carr jersey's to the cleaners to have the name taken off. I'm all on to the new day of the Texans, but I have to say it didn't feel very good. Kind of like failure. LOL

But it looks real clean, it just doesn't have a name on it.

Can't wait till Saturday night.:fans:

I have a white jersey, so I just taped a piece of paper with "SCHAUB" printed on it in blue letters. Call me lazy. :)

I've been trying to figure out what to use for blue letters. My Battle Red jersey was easy with the white letters but I am not sure what kind of material is available to do blue letters.

Anyone got any suggestions?

I saw the instructions on how to change an authentic jersey at the Chron.com, but it says to change the name plate on replica jerseys. Anybody know where to get those?????

I want to change my Carr and Sharper Jerseys.

Ya I bought a Carr battle red jersey the year he left, only used it a few times. Would like to do something with it.

I'm debating (with myself, of course) if I should change my #37 battle red jersey from "DAVIS" to "KOOLAIDE". :D :texflag:

I've got a Number 30 Jersey with "GREEN" on the back (authentic) that I'd like to change into a Number 20 Jersey with "SLATON" on the back

Given the Texans high turnover, especially on the popular jerseys, I am considering the following:

http://cgi.ebay.com/Authentic-Lette...emQQptZUS_SM_Fan_Shop?_trksid=p3286.m20.l1116

This will allow me to update the 2 Carr's, Davis, Glenn, Green, Sharper for about $120 plus S&H. Hopefully I could get a discount on the S&H for buying in bulk. On one of the Carr jersey's, perhaps I will choose one kit for Schaub and one kit for Slaton. It felt a bit strange wearing the Carr battle red, but heck, I'm in a recession.

I'm with ya, I got a Carr, Sharper, and Glenn Jerseys to change over. Do you know if they sell just the names? I'm going to match the new players name with the old number.

You all might be interested in this site which basically sells nfl-quality letters/numbers/plates for custom do-it-yourself jersey building.

I'm all over that now and owe you one for the link. I've been looking for that twill material that they sell for a while. I have a red Carr-to-Schaub that I did about a year ago and the material I used for the letters looked great at first but it's wrinkled up and started to fray a bit. I bought another blue Carr for next to nothing on ebay and wanted to do that one (and redo the red one) but I have been waiting to find the right material.

They're getting an order from me tomorrow.

I'm thinking more along the lines of " Who's Next? " If our 3rd starting quarterback has to wear number 8 I'll personally donate $1,000 to buy him a season of new jerseys.

If you remember, my wife altered my pride and joy battle red jersey # 8 jersey. However, like our QB couldnt take the hit (or rinse cycle) and the letters are coming off.

Does anyone know where I can get an OD battle Red jersey xxl? not in San Antonio I can tell you that much.

Does anybody know how to get the lettering off of replica jerseys?

I've tried a hair dryer and tweezers to no avail.
