Brian Cushing and my Thoughts thus far.

I am soo glad this guy has Proven too all the ones who doubted him who said "Workout warrior who lacks the instincts or passion to be a NFL Linebacker",i dont really feel like looking up the stat sheet but this guy is AMAZING,only a rookie and its already clear Cushing,Demeco, and Mario are the leaders of our front 7.

i think nfl.com had a clip of pollard psyching cushing up during the colts game. not pertinent to the thread, but a fun video.

Th you for the thread Mr USC-Man. Now let's hope Stanford kicks your teams azz in the Coliseum this weekend. Go Cards !

Is that you Cushing?

Ha, seems like it, huh? He joined this April (draft) and has a name gymrat. I presume he's at least a buddy. Or just a stalker. jk

On a serious note, I think Cush has been a huge difference for our D and only expect him to get better. However, I'm not going to get into all these worthless mid-season accolades the media's handing out. Stay healthy and do it all season then I'll jump on the yay Cushing bandwagon.

The amazing thing about Cushing is that he seems to be better as an NFL player than he was as a college player.

He was above average at USC. With the Texans he's been excellent.

I'm not a "USC-Man",im a Texas Fan, and im Just glad we had faith in this guy to pick him. I dont think people realize how a few First Rounders can change a Franchise for the Next 20 years, dont you guys wanna win a couple super bowls? Were 2-3 Playmakers from being the Next Steelers/Colts/Patriots.

We need a Hard Hitting Safety, its funny you call me a "USC" guy bc im going to mention a player whose also from USC,and his name is Taylor Mays,i swear to god,if he falls into our Lap in Next years Draft, and we dont pounce on him,i Will lose all Interest in this Franchise and go back to being a Hardcore Vikings Fan.

See Ya!

Good Luck with Fave and Cheater Allen!

Id love to get Mays, but I don't think we need a "hard hitting" safety as much as we need a coverage safety. Pollard has been great at laying the wood, but we don't have a ballhawking, centerfielder out there right now

That being said,i think Mays is a ball hawk, but everyone knows him for laying the wood, but i really dont think he'll be available between 14-18th picks,as thats where i see us picking next draft. Thats why "if" he does fall to us,and it is Most Certainly a BIG IF,we better realize what we have in front of us,plus i'd think it'd be cool if mays and cushing reunited.

We're on the "get a good FS by 2020" plan. We have to draft like 9 1st round DTs first.

This tean picks 22nd or higher in the next draft. :tiphat:

I also was underwhelmed with what I saw on tape of his college career, but I only saw a couple games and maybe that wasn't a representative sample of this guys talent ? I know I recently learned he was voted tne MVDefensive player in the Rose Bowl game he played in during his sophomore year at USC, and that right there is a testimony not only to his talent but his versatility - he played not SAM but as a standup rush DE in that bowl game and got 2.5 sacks.

Good plan. Slaton was a franchise back about this time last year.

If your following Cushing on Twitter he said a day or so ago that he was going out to USC to practice. Today he posted this: "Hanging out with my college LB'cker coach Ken Norton Jr. He's helping me fine tune my LB'cker play in the NFL playing for the Texans."

Speaking of Stanford, A. Luck may be coming out about the time the Texans are looking to groom Schaub's replacement. Wouldn't that be a great homecoming! If he keeps going the way he is now he'll be in the Heisman talk next year. Awesome game against #8 Oregon! :throwball:
