3rd Quarter

I don't know what they're doing at halftime, but they need to try something different.

The Texans have now been outscored in the 3rd quarter 48-0.
Time of possession in the 3rd quarter - Opponents 57:45, Texans 32:15.
3rd quarter yardage - Opponents 639 total yards (106 per game), Texans 246 total yards (41 per game).

Even in the game yesterday, Jacksonville had the ball for over 12 minutes in the 3rd quarter. Luckily only 7 points came of it, but the Texans still layed a 3rd quarter goose egg. 136 yards for the Jags in the 3rd to the Texans 15.

yep, Kubiak brought this concern up several times during various post-game interviews. I feel confident when our head coach sees and identifies a problem, because it will [eventually] be fixed.

Capersball is the culprit, IMHO. Anytime the Texans obtained a lead in the first four seasons, they automatically went to 'play not to lose' mode. That mentality cannot be overcome immediately, but instead must be slowly changed by instilling a never-say-quit attitude from the coaches on down.

People dog Carr for his 4th qtr. performance against Indy ("garbage time" and all that nonsense), but the reality is that Kubiak told him to go out there and play like his life depended on it. Leadership is inspiration, and when you see your QB out there playing his butt off during a 30-3 4th qtr., it inspires the rest of the team to do the same.

They just have to do that consistently for every game, for every quarter.
