They are not being thrown away if they are using them to get the player they want.

And yes they really felt they had to move up three spots or any for that matter. Philly moved up one spot to draft the player they wanted. It’s not uncommon to do.

The player may have been their second/third rated option and saw the first/second option fly off and weren’t willing to sacrifice any more. And if the player is the first option and their is pressure that someone may take him before then pull the trigger and get the player.

Get what you and don’t settle for second best. Or you will be second best.

I think the point in spending the last few years acquiring all this draft capital is so they could go get the guys they want. They got rid of DW, they cleaned up the cap, they got their coach. This is the ideal time to go get the players who will be the foundation of your franchise.
