I’ve been using that simulator and I try not to take a player that seemingly looks out of place. I don’t think there’s any chance Aiden Hutchinson slips past the 4th pick.

I’ve seen on their main page where several Mock’s are shown and I’m blown away by how many analyst would have the Texans taking Matt Corral at #2. If that were to happen I’d be absolutely blown away…..in disgust. If Corral is that prized in their mind, then the Texans should get a far better return value on trading the pick…..defying even the Trade Point Chart.

Corral fits the Patriots way and Texans #1 need (if you don’t believe in Mills is QB).

Thing about simulator is above all else fun to do. Second they track and compile picks for each team, like YouTube does with likes, and player rankings change correspondingly. So it’s always dated until the next refresh. After which, in this example Aiden Hutchinson will move up the board, he just got a big bump from Ohio State/Michigan game.

Did you know you can go back to years past drafts and see at each time and place of draft prospects journey (preseason, regular season, Bowl game, Senior Bowl, Combine, Pro Day, leading up to everyone’s final mock, there is a list of players more likely to get drafted by each team per simulators?

Kinda gives new meaning, in this day and age of technology, to how fluid the draft process is. Then right afterwards start doing redrafts, lol 😂

Personally I would like to pass on a franchise QB until I have an OL to protect him. Some weapons and key positional cornerstones in place.

Trading down, picking up more value and more quality picks is my way of doing this. Didn’t know trading down from #2 what to expect or who but not passing on bpa regardless. Next pick, Tyler Linderbaum, is who everyone here should focus on. Best Center in the draft, in awhile. Gives, Mills a much improved chance or whoever next franchise QB is? Elite talent, like a younger version of Corey Linsley. Could make a case this is and has been Texans biggest need since Myers retired.

Took two more Offensive Linemen, OT Kinnard from Kentucky a natural RT fit, 345 lbs that can move in 3rd and later another OT who should kick inside or play swing Tyler Smith out of Tulsa. Heck he might develop into Tunsil replacement in couple of years when his contract expires or is traded?
Winfrey is a stud pass rushing DE/DT paired with Hutchinson, Greenwood and Blacklock make a standout DL. Didn’t forget need to address RB with premium talent RB which is what Breece Hall would add to this roster. Day one starter. Then solid corner, draft grade late first early second, Roger McCreary and USC Safety Isaiah Pola Mayo. I know crazy value but I just take what I receive.

love Johnston our punter, didn’t realize Caserio had signed him to a 3 year deal for 8 million. Two years left, so don’t see them dealing him, but if he did Matt Arazia is my favorite kicker in this whole draft who averages over 51 yards per punt. Just wanted to bring some awareness here of him. The other players should add depth both positionally and special teams. WR George Pikens is actually quite explosive with good length, wouldn’t surprise me if more productive than Nico Collins, just better at separating.

If a franchise QB existed, I would get and put him on bench...but ain't one. I am hoping that Lions think Corral or Pickett is theirs at 1. I hope Jags take OT also that Jets or NYG get DW after he expands teams he will accept after Miami decides to keep Tua tag.

More talking heads realizing Hutch best player. Here is to hoping that those other teams continue their bumbling decisions and we correct ours.

Horrified after that shellacking by Colts, Texans now in #3 spot. Obviously heavy OL and skill positions on offense WR/RB/QB.

Don’t agree with everything they say, it’s fairly generic and outsiders point of view, I know there are many, many posters here who can assimilate more accurate picture, but the bottom line is we can’t give up and throw in the towel.

The simulator offered Pickett to the Texans in the 2nd rd. Don’t think he lasts that long. But picking #3 Matt Corral should be in our discussions moving forward. He is most ready to start, head & shoulders above Mills.

3 rounds again but traded down once, from 3 to 14 with Denver Broncos (Andrew Booth, CB). Texans have so many needs that makes it a ton of sense. Besides swapping 1st’s and still landing a stud starter, added 2nd (48th) and two 3rds (73/88).

Did whole OL reset, added bell cow RB (Spiller) Outside Corner ( McDuffie) and edge rusher similar athletically to Kayvon Thibodeaux.

Tyler Allgeier is a sophomore and playing for BYU (Church obligations?) So if drafted could be year or two down the road. Nevertheless, you see he has great vision and uses his running lanes and takes good angles. Football security and hands check. Nice size will eventually get stronger. Not explosive, long strider who picks up speed and can maintain that speed but no 2nd gear.

Haven’t watched any BYU, but generally they play against lesser opponents with maybe a couple tough match-ups. Those games against high level competition are ones to seriously scout. Again, don’t know if he is draft eligible but certainly worth keeping an eye on and someone who definitely checks off the Character Box for Texans.

Just noticed Dane Brugler did his end of College Football rankings per position Tyler Allgeier is draft eligible but has not declared his intentions as of yet. Ranked 14th overall. Breece Hall is ranked #3 overall, also yet to declare….fyi

After running multiple simulators, lol, it’s going to be all about positioning via trading down. Need multiple 2nd & 4th rd picks to go with pair in 3rd. Entertaining trade down offers, loading up with top 150 talent, fill gaps & possibly steal a blue chip such as Stingley?

love this one! Think this is the blueprint Texans need to right the ship 🚢

Allgeier caught my eye last year when I was watching a lot of Zach Wilson videos. This year he's kind of my Javonte Williams. With the second pick in RD 3 I would probably take him.

I would take him in the 4th Rd with the Rams pick.

I would take him in the 4th Rd with the Rams pick.

Believe Texian spot on with top of 3rd. Especially if Caserio doesn’t trade back, if he trades back that affords him a few extra slots, but as we’ve seen in past drafts, there are runs on positions, QB early last year, CB around 10 sprinkled in with more OT’s than expected in the first.

Tyler Aglleier falls into higher upside value category. Kinda depends how early Spiller and Kenneth Walker go, maybe Kyren Williams goes in 2nd also? But make no mistake these two Breece Hall and Aglleier have traits of bigger names, and once they start coming off the board the run begins.

I'm not looking to draft a RB until the 4th rd at the earliest and might pick another in the 6th. Guys I like just as much as Allgeier who should be available in the 4th rd or later Kennedy Brooks/Keontay Imgraham/Abram Smith and I like Allgeier alot.

I'm not looking to draft a RB until the 4th rd at the earliest and might pick another in the 6th.
I was also thinking of bringing in 2 RBs with different skill sets. A guy that can run between the tackles and a guy that can get outside as well as contribute as a receiver. It's hard to find a complete back, but RB by committee is very doable.

Most important thing is to identify starting QB then best supporting cast. Best Center in the draft, makes all the line calls. Howell is a level up from Mills but Mills will have a year up in NFL experience. Like top level competition. I’m done with retreads and clipboard holders. Next OT who can fill RT and then take over left side when Tunsil gone. Add road grader OG next him with #1 pick Center Linderbaum making calls, QB’s can flourish to balance the offense with two Tyler’s running and catching balls.

Texans loss still keeps them in #3 slot (traded down) but this weekend Texans square off against the Jags. I actually give Texans the edge, Culley over Urban Meyer. Once again re-built the O-Line, RT/OG/C so could take a QB with higher ceiling Malik Willis. Added Bell Cow RB1 Tyler Allegeier & Bell Cow RB2 Zach Charbonnet. Also the premier blocking TE in the draft Jake Ferguson. Added couple burners on the outside to target as well. After that primary defensive secondary pieces and one potential good edge rusher. Have at it boys and girls.

I'm more about the overall plan than the particulars. And I have zero problems trading down and acquiring picks. If the Texans come out of this draft with 14 players, that's a big win in my book.

Lots of offers to trade down if Texans hold onto #3 pick overall. Obviously I’m in favor of going that route otherwise I feel forced to reach, either for need or best fit for system/culture. No trade scenario-

Here's just a two rounder, all PFF offered in this form so selected both Texans and Chargers, took same positions in reverse order -

Not sure there is one hell of a lot of difference between the two - would love this for both teams

Texans #3 DE Kayvon Thibodeaux, Oregon
Chargers #22 OT Ikem Ekwono, North Carolina State
Texans #35 OT Trevor Penning, Iowa
Chargers #54 DE Mayji Sanders, Cincinnati

If draft board falls in line with value/grades both DE’s will be off the board. But if not, and Kayvon is still available yet Caserio passes, it would be so Texan thing (unless they receive multiple picks trade down).

This one fell into place nicely. Did not make or accept any trades, just let board fall to the Texans

3. Aidan Hutchinson EDGE Michigan
great motor, measureables, character and production.
37. Trent McDuffie CB Washington
elite recognition, twitchy, complete pckg.
68. Garrett Williams CB Syracuse

NFL size corner, very physical with ball skills.
79. Daniel Faalele OT Minnesota

6’9” tall 380 lbs of beef difficult to get around, impossible to run through or over and road grader in run game.
129. Rachaad White RB Arizona State

complete back w/reliable hands out of backfield, tough, won’t go down first contact, 2nd gear to house.
183. Ochaun Mathis EDGE TCU

Edge rusher with measureables similar to Kayvon, 6-5 257. Combine testing key to see how he stacks up against peers.
198. Xavier Henderson S Michigan State

If Reid leaves via free agency positional need elevates. Fits bill if he declares led Sparty in tackles 94 ten of those for loss.
250. Emeka Emezie WR North Carolina State

Thick, muscular frame, embraces the physical components of the position. Solid route-runner, blocker, runner, nice high catch point. Love his ball skills and how he attacks football like he belongs.

The Texans would own the 2nd day of the draft, with 9 picks. Just not sure how 6 rookie offensive linemen would work on a roster.

keep the best on the roster, and develop the others on the practice squad.
Practice squaders can be picked off by other clubs. Not a good use of draft resources. 3 draft picks allotted to the O-line would be significant. 4 would be maximum density.

Well, we potentially need 8-10 new OLinemen, so....if they can't beat out what's already on the roster, is it a big loss if someone else signs them off of our practice squad? Other teams know how bad our Oline is, so would they really want to take someone off our practice squad if he couldn't beat out what was here? I'm also assuming Tunsil gets traded.

I agree with you about the 3 vs 4 density.

However the OL is so bad I wouldn't have a problem with 4 and keeping 4 including a couple of high picks.

Say you keep Tunsil/Howard/Heck/Britt Then draft Neal/Kinnard and a couple of developmental guys like Center Kramer and a talented but not developed guy like Chasen Hines late, you could do alot worse than having depth on the OL.

However the OL is so bad I wouldn't have a problem with 4 and keeping 4 including a couple of high picks.
4 out of the 9 O-linemen you carry, I'm OK with. Right now, the Texans have 9 picks in this draft. So if they're going to allocate 4 picks to the O-line, Caserio needs to trade for more picks.

I did another Mock that didn’t include the trade of Watson or Tunsil. I did a trade down with the Panthers who are going to be absolutely desperate for a QB1 if Watson isn’t on the market.

Panthers Get:
RD1-03-003

Texans Get:
RD1-06-006
RD4-04-106
RD5-06-147
2023 RD2

DRAFT
RD1-06-006: SS Kyle Hamilton (Notre Dame). **CAR**

RD2-04-036: LG Zion Johnson (Boston College)

RD3-04-068: RB Breece Hall (Iowa State)
RD3-16-080: LB Chad Muma (Wyoming)

RD4-04-106: OL Nick Broeker (Ole Miss) **CAR / Texans Get Their Pick Back**
RD4-30-132: RB Tyler Allgeier (BYU)

RD5-06-147: DE Ochaun Mathis (TCU) **CAR**

RD6-04-183: TE Jelani Woods (Virginia)
RD6-20-199: WR Danny Gray (SMU)
RD6-31-211: OC Nick Ford (Utah)

RD7-27-245: FS Markquez Bell (Florida A&M)

7 picks towards the offense and 4 towards the defense. A better offense could certainly help the defense in many ways.

I think Nick Ford would be a perfect fit behind Britt for 2022. Ford is road grader who may need a season of development. Danny Gray is flyer who may pop a 4.3-40 which could give his stock a substantial bump. Jelani Woods is a 6-7 TE who can do his job. He declared for the draft…not sure how his Pro Day may affect his stock.

Ochaun Mathis could be a surprise as he has the size and speed to handle the DE position. Markquez Bell is a tall long armed Safety who has decent speed. Would be a solid pick if he develops while helping out on ST’s.

I didn't say that I would draft 4 OL.

The strength of this draft is on the defensive side of the ball. I hope they draft many defensive players. The only offensive player in play for me at 1-3 is Neal. If they dont get him then I'm hoping for a trade down or pick Hamilton or Thibodeaux at 1-3. The 2nd/3rd rds have upgrades in the draft at the OL positions. IMHO

Well, we potentially need 8-10 new OLinemen, so....if they can't beat out what's already on the roster, is it a big loss if someone else signs them off of our practice squad?
How many O-linemen do you think teams carry on the roster?

In last year's draft, the high for the number of O-linemen selected by a team was 3 (Cincinnati & Green Bay). The draft before (2020), the high was again 3 (Green Bay, Miami, and New England). 2019? Guess what? 3 by Minnesota.

So the Texans could double the high number of O-linemen selected by a team in the 3 previous drafts?. Let me put it this way: If the over/under # is 6, I'm taking the under.

That’s some fairly successful teams listed….except the Vikings.

I agree with this except I want no part of Thibodeaux at 1-3 and prefer Hamilton greatly over Neal and would prefer to only trade down a few spots hoping to still get Hamilton

lol...it was more that I really didn't know much about any of the players, so I just took OL, and figured I was bound to get a few good ones in there.
