Texans will beat Titans.

Nighthawk

Rookie
I'd prefer that David stunk up the joint just to be certain that last nail goes in his coffin around here, but I don't think it's going to happen. The Titans a flying too high, Vince has been too good for a couple of weeks. Time for a fallback. He'll toss a bunch of interceptions and not be able to get loose and pick up those half dozen extra first downs. And we'll win going away. Carr will live to play another day, another three weeks at least. Kubiac will pick up another potential starting QB in the offseason and Carr will have to work for his spot next year. My money says he'll win the position and then disappoint again, like this year. Then he'll be replaced. Way too late.

Well kubiak kinda had to give Carr a chance under new leadership in order to get the head coach job. but he will insure their is ample evidence that Carr is not the guy. then there is the issue of the contract extention. from a business standpoint Carr will remain a Texan for one more year regardless. I look to see Carr only starting half way thru the season next year unless something magical happens and Carr shows he is the guy without the support of the fans and the front office. he will have to make plays on his own, win games on his own. I'm not even sure he has that lattitude as far as calling plays at the line or audibles. I wish him the best.

Are we gonna replace him with Jesus Christ or his Father? It takes 11.

You're a true fan.

you suck man, who actually roots for their QB to "stink up" HIS OWN STADIUM??? carr is going to be our qb for the next few years, GET OVER IT!! granted, he hasnt been great at all this season, but with a horrible running game and bad pass protection, its hard for me to imagine anybody excelling with the texans... crap dude, i guess i dont understand how somebody who is obviously a fan (im making that assumption because you post on the team's offical website) can root for the most important piece of your team to fail... oh well, you should probably root for some other team,.. its alot easier that way.. buh-bye

I certainly do not want Roger Carr behind center. But then again we could probably pay him league minimum to hand the ball off and throw dump offs since Casserly and Ferens are gone.

From today's Chronicle...........

"When we go elsewhere, we have fans there," McNair said. "That's just part of the atmosphere. I say everybody should have fun with it. Hopefully our Texans fans are going to be fired up, and they'll create a home-field advantage for us. That's what we're hoping for."

If we don't force 1 false start against the Titans, we should realize we are to blame if we lose.

I agree with your take of how this will play out for this game and Carr's career here. McNair will ride him until he's gotten his money out of him. And we will ride him until he's gone. Great way to run a business.

He doesn't suck. He cares. People who suck continue to eat this plate of warmed over stuff.

I wouldn't count David out on this one. He has a way of pulling it out when necessary and things are on the line, matter of fact, the whole team does. And if it was EVER necessary, it is Sunday.

Just when you think he is through, he comes back. Tennessee to Giants and then Jacksonsville would be an example.

It will either be real good or real bad. I am betting on the "good" but it makes me really nervous.

By the way, why do the gamblers (whatever you call the guys that make the predictions) have us winning? Have they gone mad? LOL

This may be the most confident I have felt in predicting a win. We win this game 27-14. VY will have problems holding onto the ball and we will win the turnover game. I see the defense coming early and often and look forward to many 1x1 matchups with VY and the NFL's leading solo tackler, Demeco, in open space.

I like the way you roll Kaiser!

We were 2-14 last year and are an ugly 4-8 this year. Please define "when necessary" and "things on the line" for me. I don't think this team responds well at all on a consistent basis. They times they step up are few and far between.

i wish i could be so optimistic. VY has been impressive of late, our d-line hasn't been getting enough pressure on the qb (IMO) to effect VY's game. On the days that our Dline gets enough pressure, they stop the run like my boxers stop a fart.

We all know how carr's been playing lately, so i don't need to talk about that.

I'd like to see David pass for about 350 and two TD's...maybe run another in and have Houston dominate the game while Mario and DeMeco plant Radio into the turf.

I'd also like to see Pacman break a toe.

I would be happy with 200 yards 2 TDs no fumbles and no INT's,I also think Mathis breaks one this week( run for TD, not toe). And I think our D is going to be stout. If I had to guess I would say it will be close but we squeak out a 27-21 win.

Do you think our Defense will score that many points? Our offense hasn't shown any reason for us to think they'd score that much.

This is going to be a different game from the last one.
They have PacMan...we now have Mathis...
Faggins is back..Mario has a few more games under his belt and DeMeco will have a Probowl type day (when dosen't he?)

Texans 28 - Wanna Be Houston 17

Way to go Blu!!! Go Texans! Just think how good it is going to feel to see Mario sack Vince.......

What might feel even better is seeing the #1 spot on MNF's "JACKED UP"... DeMeco Ryans jacking up Vince.

"Welcome to the league rookie, because Vince Young, you got....."

JACKED UP!!

I really don't care how Carr does good or bad as long as he does not turn the ball over. He needs to learn to keep two hands on the ball until he is ready to throw. He has fumbled the ball 13 times and 3 times in 3 games. Just manage the game. Let our Def do the rest, all though our def is not the best they do better when they are not on a short field.

Speaking of short fields. Can we get a punter that can kick past the 50 yrd line.:brickwall

Good post Sarg.

If I am not mistaken, the titans are favored by -1.5 or something. Odds dont matter though. Titans will win....hands down. It will be an exciting game!!!!

Thats funny,my sentiments exactly.

I agree. All available hands on deck for this one. Win or lose, I do not want to hear any Texan fan with a voice intact on the way out of the stadium after this game. :redtowel:

Simple--"the most important piece" of my team has ALREADY failed, over and over and over again for 5 very long years, endless years, over and over again, time after time, opportunity after opportunity, and in doing so has ruined the team's chances for that long of being anything but a laughingstock.

We're finally -- FINALLY! -- at a point that seems close to the breaking point, the point at which the overwhelming evidence is FINALLY recognized by 75% of the fans, and maybe -- JUST MAYBE! -- the front office, and I want him to continue to screw up so we can be well and truly shut of him and START the long slow crawl toward the respectability we've never had.

Is that clear enough?

It's odd, but I feel the exact same way I did before the Jaguar games - that there is no chance that we will lose. Granted, the second Jag game was scary for a bit during the actual game.

Kind of funny, but the reverse was true in the Titans game. Had this nagging feeling something was going to happen before the game - and then thanks to our ability to move the ball at will on the Titans during the game itself, confidence was restored and it wasn't until the 59th minute that it actually seemed like we might LOSE.

Texans 22
Titans 14

We score a touchdown some how offense, defense, special teams one of them the rest will be field goals but Kris Brown misses the first three causing half the fans to pull out most of their hair before kicking the game out of reach. Oh and we do not punt all game, not because we are so deep on the Titans side of the field but because we can not afford Chad Stanley's 15 yard punts so we go for it on 4th down all game.:shades:

He also knows he screws up this game, hes definately out...So i really do think he's going to have a good game...Just my gut feeling.

I'm not optimistic about it at all. Let's not forget, (although I know it's very convenient to do so for many reasons) that the offensive line will be just like it was last week. Minus three starters.

Carr started off the season playing a lot better than he has the previous four seasons. (I know it's very convenient for some people to forget that, also) It was speculated by some, (coaches, pundits, fans, etc.) that if David was given some better protection, then he just might play a little better. Well guess what, (argue with me about this if your game) he did.

Then, as more games were played, the offensive line, due to injuries to (let's name them, shall we . . Charles Spencer, Zach Weigart, Mike Flannigan, Ephraim Saalam) started to . . .regress in performance. But for some reason, yet unexplained, David's performance is now beginning to regress, after playing a lot better earlier in the season. I'm shocked. Absolutely . . . shhhocked! I just absolutely have no earthly idea why that could be.

Cheer up, Nighthawk. You'll most likely have plenty of reason to smile on Sunday.

I understand what Nighthawk is saying. He is hoping for what's best for the Texans short term and long term: that we win the game, but Carr continues to downslide toward his eventual release. It is within reason to think that it is best for this team that we go our separate ways with Carr, and the sooner that is facilitated the better (from this perspective).

I never root for any Texans player to do bad, but I understand Nighthawk's pov even though I might not agree with it. I've got a buddy that is hoping for a Texans win but wants both QBs to suck, so it's probably more of a prevalent thought process among fans than you'd think.

Hey BLU love your outlook... but it looks like the 2 teams are heading in different directions. IMO VY is going to make Reliant his Rose Bowl every year he comes here. Its going to SUCK until he retires. (Wanna be houston) beat 2 teams back to back with winning records. Matter of fact they have won 3 in a row and lost by 1 to Baltimore could have been 4! I know Texans won last week but it was to the worst team in NFL and can't play like that and expect to beat a team with a winning record. VY and Romo prove that everything evolves around the QB. Since they have come in both teams are playing alot better! When a QB doesn't turn the ball over or bad play on 3rd down (vs. .500 plus teams)it pumps up the rest of the team. When you make TO's it brings the rest of the team down. I don't see Texans winning this week. Maybe Texans can prove me wrong.

Actually, he started the year with a few good stats..... QB rating(which don't account for fumbles) & completion percentage with no better protection than what he recieved in the past........ Philly 4 sacks....... Indy 4 sacks..... Miami 5 sacks...

Then against Dallas, where he was not sacked at all, barely even pressured, he threw the first INT (which wasn'this fault) then the second (which was entirely his fault).

Then on the first possession of the Titans game, he throws into quadrouple coverage...

If that's better than the previous four seasons, I'm so glad I've got this short term memory condition.

I'm shocked that you think his protection was better earlier in the year..... protection wise, with the exception of Spencer/Salaam, every backup player is an upgrade in pass protection. Weary is better than McKinney... Winston is Better than Wiegart....... & Hogdon is better than Flanagan(okay, maybe not better, but he ain't worse).

I'm also shocked, that those earlier games, he played better against a healthy Philly & Indy Defense, but we can't seem to pass on a weathered Buffalo, NYJ, and Oakland(I'll give him a little slack here, but 34 yards?? c'mon) with the same poor protection.
Cheer up, Nighthawk. You'll most likely have plenty of reason to smile on Sunday.

Look, I'll make a prediction.... for the next three weeks, we're going to see a failry confident Carr.... he's going to be decisive with the ball.... he's going to be decisive taking off with the ball... he's going to be decisive about making plays.... he's going to have three typical good Carr weeks.....

But come Dec 31, he's going to nut up against the Browns.....

As great as the Texans looked in their game against the Raiders, I believe the Titans can pull this one off. Granted our offense isn't as potent as the Raiders, but if we can hold Carr to another negative yard game I think we can have a shot at winning.

I don't know whether this is sarcasm or ignorance.

:spy: Saracsm obviously.

Looking back at the previous couple weeks of play. Texans played in the fecal bowl with the Raiders, Lost to the Bills and Jets, but barely pulled off a win against the Dolphins...

In the same time the Titans beat the Colts in a comeback, beat the Giants in a comeback, Beat the Eagles and barely lost by a comeback to the Ravens (1 pt loss). The Titans are undeniably the hotter team right now.
