Predictions for the Bills vs. Texans

Mr. White

Retired OLine Coach
It was nice owning JAX this season, but it's time to start talking about something else....and it just so happens the Texans play this weekend against Buffalo.

I hope I'm wrong, but I think Buffalo wins this one 17-13. It seems like they always look playoff-bound when they play us. They also kept it reeeeal close against the Colts. Hopefully they're gassed from last week and they'll overlook us.

Winning two in a row is another hurdle that we haven't jumped for 2 years.

Our O-line according to Spencer Tillman, and Sirius NFL Radio is stating that they get little push on runs and on pass situations the pocket is bad thus balls are batted down because the D Lineman dont have to work as hard when fighting the O lineman.

I see us playing up or down to our Competition so who knows what will happen here. Our Defense seems to grasp the game plan now, so I am going to pick the Texans 20 to 13

The bills have no offense. JP Losman is a streaky QB at best, McGahee is out, and one of their other WRs are out. We have the avantage here big time, and we better win this one.

I think Kubiak and Co has got this team BELIEVING in itself. After last Sunday's road win, against all odds and opinions, this team will be on FIRE.

I am 100% confident that the Texans will come home to Reliant as returning heros, and set the Bills aflame.

Texans 31

Bills 10

Thats is what keeping me thinking we can win. Its ours to loose.

But like them, we have a lot of injuries on the offensive side of the ball. Do we know if Carr is starting, or is the backup qb playing? Our line is bad to begin with, and now it has become more of a patch work.

The only thing that makes me say its a win is our D. They are a menace to be dealt with.

The only thing is our fans that come to the game have to make it home field advantage.

I say win that our defense and the fans in the stands wins it for us. Its ours to loose. Go Texans.

I think the last play of last game clearly sent a message to the players. Like Texas Asylum mentioned. Texans will be on FIRE.

GO TEXANS!!

Buffalo has a ton of talent on D but they are in the middle of the pack in every defensive statistic.

Good news tho.

Their offense is 31st in the league in total offense (241 per game), passing offense (139), & 3rd down conversions (28%).
They are 30th in the league in points (16).
29th in sacks allowed (30).
27th(t) in fumbles lost (8).

Bad news.

They have the best kickoff return average in the NFL (over 27 yds per return) & have the most punts placed inside the 20 (19).
7th in punting (45 yds per punt) & 3rd in net punting (42 yds per).
9th in sacks with 23.

With that said, I think this is our game.

Texans - 16
Bills - 13

The Bills have nothing on offence at this point and the Texans are playing great defense. Moulds should have a big game. Maybe I'm crazy but this might actually be an easy win. I say 20-10.

I think Gado and Lundy have monster games here. And our D just gets better, my guess
Texans 30
Bills 16

We SHOULD win this one. Buffalo’s offense doesn’t scare anyone. Their only TD against the Colts was on a fumble return.

Instead of Montezuma's Revenge, we get Jacksonville's Revenge. We have lost the game after beating the Jags every time, and usually in horrible fashion. That streak has to end this week.

2002
We won our 1st road game ever in Jacksonville 21-19 and were favored for the first time ever going into the game the next week against Cincinnati. It was the most embarrassing loss in franchise history as the lowly Bengals beat us 38-3.

2003
Beat Jacksonville on a 4th and inches play at the goalline as Carr made it in for a 24-20 win. We followed that by getting trottled in Tennessee 38-17.

2004
Beat Jacksonville at Home 20-6 to move to 4-3 then followed that up by losing in Denver 31-13.
Thumped Jacksonville on the road 21-0 to knock them out of the playoffs and improve our record to 7-8. Only to lose 22-14 to the Browns at home the following week to start the worst stretch in team history.

2006
Beat Jacksonville at Home 27-7 then lost to the lowly Titans on the road 28-22 in a game that wasn't as close as the score would indicate.

Give the ball to Gado 20 times and let him pound them, hit them deep with Johnson and underneath with Moulds and the Texans walk away with this one 24-13. Gado has over a 100 yards and a TD. Lundy has 5 catches for 60 yards and a TD

I agree....Let Gaddo pound it.......playing ball control is totally new territory for the Texans and I think they can be successfull by doing it.

I have no idea how this game is going to go. I haven't watched one Buffalo play, much less a game.

we also don't know who our starting QB will be.

a huge defensive struggle....Kris will hit 5 fg and become a hero

Texans 15

Bills 6

Oh, he will miss 2 as well :)

Texans defense playing very well I say we will cause some more turnovers and our offense will play well!! Texans 21
Bills 13

:fireball:

I think the defense will continue to get better and our offense will roll over Buffalo....

Houston - 24
Buffalo - 7

I am not a huge TJ fan, but I think that we will have a few things to worry about with our current core of DTs. MAddox seems to be playing nice, and Thomas Johnson to me has been undisciplined and wasn't effective early in the season, and I haven't seen enough of him recently to see if he has made progress of changes.

Dalton I think is a conditioning issue, but hopefully can plug the middle and take a couple of lineman up to plug the middle for A-Train.

Moulds definitely needs to be getting a few more touches with the increased emphasis on AJ in opponents scheming. Owen Daniels has benefitted nicely, but we need to exploit the defense with these three weapons... I'd like to get 60-75 yards from Moulds this week, and get AJ and Daniels their typical production.

I do have a good feeling that Gado and the running game can get things going. Winston at RT has me excited as he got pretty good push late in the game against J-ville. I can easily see a few two TE sets this week - with Bruener adding a little OL protection and Daniels running routes...

Someone mentioned that Cooko is a little dinged up so maybe we will get to see Daniels and Putzier on the field at the same time... one runs routes, one pass protects and pops out for a TE screen.

We will see some new wrinkles in the offense this week.

Forgot my prediction, I think we have Texans 24 - Bills 19

This weekend's game vs. Buffalo may be the Texans' breakout game. As long as Carr is back full strength, not only could the Texans win, but they might win convincingly.

The Texans have gotten a little better each week lately. The running game has picked up, the passing game is benefiting, and the defense is more solid. Kris Brown will be back in form too. It could be the right combination, and too much for Buffalo to handle.

Texans 31
Buffalo 10

I hate to be the voice of reason here but do you guys actually believe that we can put up 30 points on the Bills D?

My pick was Texans 16-13.

Any Given Sunday right? It's definetly the:homer: in me but I finally joined the board so i guess I wanted to make a splash!

Plus it's my PREDICTION what do you really care? I stated my reasons for it and certainly threw in some sarcesm if you read the whole thing.

So Texans:38 Bills:10 Lets keep this good feeling rolling boys!!!

That is all good brother.

I just dont want people on this board to be upset if it is another low scoring game.

The stats dont tell it cuz the Bills offense cant stay on the field, but their D is very good.

You really really have a thing for Gado ehh? Is he a relative or boyfriend (if you're a girl)?

Texans win 16 to 13 over the Bills in a game dominated by the two defenses. This assumes of course that Brown can make 3 FG's...for us which is a big "if" at this point sadly.

Go Texans...let's make it two in a row!!! :marionaner:

I picked the same score, 16-13.

But not cuz Brown will make 3 FGs.

We will score 2 TDs & he will make a FG but miss an extra point.

Wow...I had not thought of that way to get to 16. I hope you are right, but I'm not sure we can get two TD's off the Buff's defense. Our red zone conversion has not been that great this year so far but maybe the Moulds factor can get us an extra one.

There won't be a let down after a win this time. The team is excited to finally have another game at home.

Defense has another solid outing:
160 Yards Passing
75 Yards Rushing
4 Sacks (2 from Mario)
2 INT's

Offense has its best game of the season:
330 Yards Passing (100 for Moulds and Andre)
125 Yards Rushing
5 TD's (3 Passing, 2 Rushing)

Texans 38
Tatonkas 10

We owe the Bills for last year. This time it's on our turf. Payback time for JP and the Bills. Losman is not having a good year and now McGahee is out, so an aggressive gameplan might just do the trick. Hopefully Mario gives Losman a bad case of Plantin Turfitis and we send them back to NY with an L.

I think it's going to be a good game. Buffalo played with Indy all day and should have won that game. The Texans defense is on fire and our offense hasn't been as productive, so I expect a very low scoring game as the Bills are much the same.

My score:

Houston 10
Buffalo 6

If we get 450 offensive yds against the Bills I will look like this in my street.

:francis:

Then I will grab Mario & do this.

My pick was Texans 16-13.

With enough JP Losman, anything is possible. In the last two games he has had under 200 yards and 9 sacks COMBINED! With Willis McGahee out, they have practicaly no offense, just keep an eye on Lee Evans. Against the Colts they scored 16, but their only TD was a fumble return. I see us giving up 10 points or less and putting up between 21-27, depending on turnovers and Kris Brown geting his head out of his ass.

I fully expect us to stop the Bills offense.

I just dont know how much we can put up on the Bills D.

I dont think they have the corners to stop both AJ and Moulds, so I would like to see us really try to get the ball to the WR's and down the field. If we get off to a good start and put the ball in JP's hands, this could go very well for us.

We better be able to stop Buffalo's offense. Their own players described it as "awful" this week.

I just can't see Carr and Johnson vs. their D failing to outperform JP vs. our D. I don't know about the blow out predictions, but I would certainly hope that we can win by more than a score.

Anthony Thomas has run strong, putting up a 95 yard day and 1 TD versus Green bay, and 108 yards against Indy. The fans are actually liking him more, because he has a different, and better run style with our O-Line. He fights for the last yard and makes holes. He moves the chains. Don't think that because Willis is out, we have no rushing attack. We churn out more consistent runs now. McGahee is more of a threat back, but we never saw the threat.

For my prediction: JP comes back in to form after the coaching staff slowly loosens his leash. Evans has a big 100+ day with a TD, and Roscoe and Robert Royal are productive. A-Train gets around 70 yards with a TD. Losman has 2 Tds, no turnovers. (Here's hoping)

Despite the Bills D having a good season, with a bend-but-not-break Cover 2, the Texans go a little pass happy. AJ has 100 yards and a TD, and Daniels (50 yds) and Moulds (60yds) each have productive days. Lundy pounds one in short yardage, but the rushing attack falters. Carr throws up 1 INT.

Final score Bills 24 Texans 20

I hope it's an injury free game for both sides, as we have both been plagued with them. Feel free to visit us at Buffalobills.com, but please, we have enough negative things said about our team by our own fans.

JP has not totaled 200 yard with his last two games combined and the O-line has given up 9 sacks in that span. The Colts can't stop the run, so that should come as no surprise you were able to run on them. In recent weeks our D has been as close to dominating as us Texans have seen in a while, so I expect us to keep the Bills to 13 point or less, baring a bunch of turnovers. This is our game to lose, lets not blow it.
