Rhett Bomar kicked off team

I think this virtually guarantees that Adrian Peterson will be out of there and in the NFL as soon as possible (i.e. the 07 draft rather than staying for his senior year, barring injury of course).

If there is one player that can make up the difference for these two losses it would be Peterson in my opinion. He is the best college back I have seen since Ki-Jana Carter.

I agree, I would rather have him than Reggie Bush. He can get physical, and the only time I saw Bush get physical, he sat out a few plays to recover.

Anyway, yipee!!! :tease: Though its A&M's QB I'm worried about.

I dunno, are the Sooners making a highly moral decision, doing the "right
thing" and setting a lofty standard, or is this strictly a pragmatic move
being done to head off a worse fate to their program if the NCAA, other authorities, or the press uncovered this situation without the help of the Sooners ?

HILARIOUS!!! Great link.:thumbup

I hate to see it when any player has to go out this way. This will hurt the Sooners, but I am confident Stoops will keep them competitive.

It seems like either a lot of college students are making dumb moves this off-season or, dare I say it -- universities are becoming more strict in scrtunizing the off-field behaviors of their athletes. Taylor was unceremoniously dropped from UT after his run-ins with the law. Four 'Canes are missing the first game against FSU. These seem like bold and risky punishments for the team's production, but invaluable as showing the integrity of a program.

Dump the Big 12 for awhile, reorganize the old SWC to show the new generation of boosters how cheatin is supposed to be done.

Thompson will be the QB, no worries.

The D will hang 50 on the horns anyway.
Yeah, no worries.

Remind everybody again why Thompson began last season as the starting QB and ended up as the 3rd WR last year.

What does your offensive (and I mean offensive) line look like?

Looks alot like the 2000 O-line, A JuCo transfer QB going into camp competing with an unproven vet. The WR's are a strength. Not at all worried, its going to take Mack another 3 years to adapt his offense to a system that works with the talent.

On a side note, where did the UT player get the cash for 5 lbs of grass? It happens everywhere, only the car dealership and Bomar were too damn stoopid not to know that cash transactions are virtually untracable.

I'm disappointed that it happened, but more disappointed in how ignorant the jackasses who were involved set it up. Hell the Mike Price fiasco should teach people not to leave a paper trail

The person feeling the worst atm is Tommy Grady who after Bomar was signed saw the writing on the wall and transfered to Utah before last season. He finds himself now in a 3 way battle for the Utes starting position.

Looks like he'll keep working at the dealership now.

But seriously, the car dealer is the cheater that really screwed up. They paid him all that money and then didn't tell him not to report it.

What the hell are they doing letting him file his own taxes anyway? Didn't they learn anything from the Switzer years? I would expect if anyone would know how to cheat, it would be OU boosters.

The way I figure it if he was only working 5 hrs a week and claimed $18,000 in earnings from this job, that means he was making....roughly $70 an hour!!!

Here, I'll remind everybody for you...

Paul Thompson - 11 of 26 (42.3%), 109 yards, 0 TDs, 1 INT, 69.8 rating

Heck, the guy completed as many passes as he caught as a WR. I guess that accounts for something.

Yeah, no worries at all.

But you can't put all the blame on Thompson. They had some serious issues on the OL last year. But I'm sure they're bound to improve in that area after losing Chris Chester and Davin Joseph to the NFL and replacing them with a Sophmore or Freshman.

The 2000 OL consisted of:
4 Sr's
5 Jr's
3 So's
5 Fr's

The 2006 OL consists of:
1 Sr
1 Jr
4 So's
7 Fr's (5 of those are true Fr's)

Yeah, I'd say those look a lot alike.

Has it been proven the 5 lbs of grass is Taylor's? If it has been proven, how do you know he had to pay for it? Wouldn't it be a lot cheaper to grow 5 lbs of grass than buying it? He probably could've gotten advice from Lynn McGruder on how to grow it.

I'm not suprised at all that you're more disappointed they were caught instead of them actually committing the infraction.

KT :sarcasm: ? Knuckle dragers like me need a little hint. Ka-Jana was a great college back. KaJana's NFL carrer kinda carreened into oblivian.

Look the Jets probably be a head of us. Petterson comes out...he's a Jet.

Hugh: :perfect10: on the Picture. too funny.

You guys are a hoot. Dog gets a boo-boo, pour salt on the wound. Don't know what he paid for the five pounds. But I figgure it cost Ol' Romance about fifteen millon bucks. Must of been some really good sh%$t ?
