2015 free agents

Yeah but didn't he just turn 50 or something?

He's 34, and Gore is 32. I am surprised by the Jackson release also. He still has the wheels and looked good coming back from an injury in the last pre season game. Sure they have McCoy, but he is currently injured.

Should the Texans take a look I wonder? One year rental?

Jackson would be decent on the cheap. However, he seems to get injured more often than not

He's only gotta last part of the season. Hell if he makes it to the halfway point he'll get some time off to get his legs fresh again for the playoffs (something I don't believe he's ever had the good fortune of enjoying). Having him to spell Foster late in the year would awesome (which is why it won't happen probably).

He'll go be a Patriot.

I would bring him in, but what do I know? He runs hard, but does appear to get injured a lot. Perhaps part of our RBBC he would be fine. I would be surprised if someone does not snap him up right away.

We want/need to bring in Matt Blanchard!

http://m.jsonline.com/sports/packer...ers-cut-by-packers-b99568222z1-323810601.html

Not that Rick Smith ever listens to me, or Bill O'Brian wants further complications in QB mix but Matt reminds me of a young Brett Farve. Strong arm, can deliver a deep pass off back leg, accurate in outs, touch across the middle, similar size with classic Farve mannerisms. Hundley has looked great in camp, don't see what they see in Tolzen so Blanchard was cut. Somebody will pick him up, don't delay :jogger:

Reports are that Montee Ball may be on the bubble in Denver. Seems like he would be someone to look at for a trade since RS is in the trading mood with Elway. What do you think?

Phil Taylor is interesting. I wonder what happened. Or what's wrong with him. Unless I'm missing something I think he'd be an upgrade over Nix

They drafted Shelton. Also have Bryant & Randy Starks. He was also due 5.477 million.

No he's awful. People fell for the hype because he was a 2nd round pick but he's now been beat out by Knowshon Moreno, C.J. Anderson, Ronnie Hillman, and Juwan Thompson. Two of those guys are second year players who weren't even drafted.

All I saw of him was before he was injured and he looked good to me. After that Moreno took over but Hillman has not been any better, which is why you see Anderson who seems to be a beast. Could he be worse than what we have now? Personally I want them to take a look at Fred Jackson, but have the Hawks signed him already?

Phil Taylor was pretty good in Cleveland when he was healthy, but he had some injury issues and never seemed to recover. It also may have been that he looked a lot better playing next to the bigass DT Rubin and a good pass rusher in Jabal Sheard. They drew a lot of attention.

Taylor hasn't been healthy in years and they just drafted a more talented replacement in the 1st round. At $5M+ a year he was expendable.

Taylor had injuries to both knees but I'm not sure how healthy he is now. I'd stick with what we have.

We should put a claim in for Raheem Mostert from Philly. He was cut.

Mostert, an undrafted rookie from Purdue who ran a 4.32 40 at the 2015 NFL Scouting Combine, led the entire NFL this preseason with 351 yards from scrimmage. He caught 14 passes for 194 yards and rushed 39 times for 157 yards.

But it's a numbers game at this point and the Eagles already have three top running backs in DeMarco Murray, Ryan Mathews and Darren Sproles.

Kenjon Barner, who also made a number of big plays this preseason and contributed on special teams with two punt return TDs, is another candidate for the fourth RB job should the Eagles keep that many.

Mostert is a prime candidate for the practice squad, but the Eagles will first need him to clear waivers, which figures to be difficult after such a dynamic preseason.

Either him or Ben Malena...

Love to see us take a look at turbin when healthy and why not bring in Josh freeman?

I'd say wait & see where we're at in five weeks.

& there you go with that Freeman thing again. Our bargain QB days should be behind us. If Hoyer doesn't play like a pro bowler, it's time we tried something different, like trading our whole draft if need be to get the best prospect in 2016.

Freeman has been cut by the last 3 teams that signed him and when he's actually played he's been awful. If the dude wasn't 6'6 he would have been out of the league years ago. Let someone else fall in love with his measureables and waste their time.

Yeh like I said in the another thread, when I seen the name freeman I immediately thought pictured Glennon in my head. Freeman sucks I know.

Turbin reverts to SEA IR if not claimed, which I wouldn't due to his recent high ankle sprain. He was the 106th pick in 2012 Draft.

Reported that SEA is shopping RB Christine Michael, the 62nd pick of 2013 draft.

The signing of 34 yr old Fred Jackson wasn't a good sign for their other RBs.

Matt Flynn @mflynn3

I've thought all along the Tebow "2-point offense" is a reasonable idea. Not sure if it justifies a roster spot, but with the rules changes and all ...

He made Denver's final 53. They may be looking to trade him, but he won't be a waiver wire option.
