The 2005 Houston Texans..........

yaboycm

Waterboy
The 2005 Houston Texans are the worst team in this era of the NFL. Period.

Judging by the empty seats, the fans realize this and are tired of it. Will the owner realize it and make changes?

empty seats are partly Texans mostly and Astro's playoff game going on right now

I didn't go today. Glad I didn't. Waste of my time; 2 hours drive time and 3 hour sleep show. I will go when the franchise shows motivation. This crap is pathetic. It is a waste of money though. Oh well, at least I'm not donating money for $7 pizzas on this "franchise." And I use the term "franchise" very loosely.

I'd rather stay at home and watch how a real Houston franchise operates on TV than go watch a team live that for the most part has no motivation!

CAN WE PLEASE GET RID OF CARR??? HE IS SO TERRIBLE AND HAS VERY LITTLE FOOTBALL SMARTS

Carr: Go to the chalboard and write "Throw the ball away" 1000 times.

After that, I want you to write "Throw to the receiver's hands" 500 times. Not 5 feet over his head.

Field goals are for p-----s!

I am not sure what is going on with these guys but pathetic is the best place to start!
Another 2 minute drill of Monty Python caliber at the end of the 1st half...David running out of bounds and not throwing away the ball... 3 blitzes called that I saw...and still no turnovers...hmmm I am not going to say fire Capers (just suspend him for the next 12 games...), but a solution must be found

Its not just a coaching problem. Its a personnel problem. We dont have the players at the lines. Its not a carr problem. Boomer is an ***** he doesnt even have time to throw it away. We need to revamp the line. period. there is no QB in the draft that will help this team win... get some protection. and the D-ine get some penetration.

If we send this team away then houston does not deserve a football team period. Its called be a fan and believe in the fact people get apid millions of dollars to make decisions that you paying very little criticize on a weekly basis. Part of this is just fate we lost Boselli before he ever played and it destroyed the line and we have never recovered.

Do you even watch the games? Even when Carr has time he can't make the throw or go through his progressions corrrectly. The last minutes of the game don't count either when it doesn't matter and the defense is in some form of a precent defense.

The players are not motivated the entire game. It's not a coaching problem though.

Stop being optimistic to nothing and realize that changes need to be made!

If we had a good GM, these changes that need to take place now would have already occurred!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Yea i do and I look and unlike you I look at them REALISTICALLY! There is no change in the world that can stop this... if there was then the Tampa Bay Bucs, Seahawks, Bengals and Cardinals would have all been winning organizations in the 90's which none of them were till like 97 it just takes time. Any changes made will doom, this franchise to even more losing seasons. yea make changes so that 5 years from now we finally have an above .500 season brilliant.

Looking back really has any offensive linemen that has made an impact been readily available to us? Gallery in the draft, but the raiders have put him at RT which tells me he hasnt been that great. Besides the Pace teaser, no one really has been out there LJ shelton took the Browns offer. thats the only linemean prospects there has been.

It's called scouting and finding gems in late rounds.

Super Bowl teams like the Eagles and Patriots do this extremely well.

HH, I don't like to see what I'm reading here. Come on Texan fans, yes I called them the Texans and not the txeans, the Texans are in a slump right now but I don't see why y'all need to clean house. A few draft picks have gone awry, but if they draft a couple stud offensive linemen, protect David better, that alone could change the whole direction of the offense. The defense isn't that far away, but you fans CAN NOT quit. Joe Texan, Bull Pen Andy, Hookem Horns and all the rest of my friends down there, DON'T let this cancer continue. I look forward to y'all coming up to Nashville in December, winners or losers, it is all about the love of the game.

Keep y'all heads up, your team is STILL your team, don't even give them away.... L.A. that isn't even cool, that needs a dirty sock stuck in it.

Have you ever seen a USC game? Have you seen how much time Lienart has in the pocket to let the routes develop? Have you seen how bad our line is? Now put those two together and you will have a bust bigger than Ryan Lief.

Do you even watch football?? Your sarcastic comments arent funny, relevant and most of the time, they don't even make sense. First, you compare USC's talent level to Fresno State's and Blame Carr for going there, dispite leading Fresno State to one of their best season's ever. Now you are making a comment about Carson Palmer which has no relevance to anything.

You're kidding....right?

The fans who bought psl's and season tickets paid more than a "little".

You really believe this team is so sorry because Boselli never played for us? Amazing!

Most of the fans are disgusted with the people who do get paid millions of dollars to make decisions.

Houston deserves a football team. Houston does not deserve what we are getting in the Texan franchise. I was an Oiler fan from the very first game until the day they left. I saw some very sorry Oiler teams. Nothing I saw was as bad as what we are getting now.

Who is his coach? Does his coach allow him to use his arm? Do his 2 top 10 drafted tackles give him time to throw? Does his pro bowl calibre runningback take the heat off the passing game? Does Chad Johnson have some of the best hands in the league??? Does his defense force turnovers? Does his team get pressure on the QB? Answer all these questions for me.

Palmer also has two healthy knees. The two players do not compare.

Not to mention Palmer had Fargas as his RB and not the 2 best in the nation that Leinart has. Or we could take into consideration the WR and TE talent Leinart has over Palmer. Leinart will put out better NUMBERS than Palmer, but Palmer was the far better prospect.

So McNabb isnt good because he has T.O., LJ, Westbrook, Brown, Lewis?

Manning no good. He has Harrison, James, Wayne.

Montana, Warner, Favre, they were no good in their prime because they had good targets.

Could it be that the quaterback actually makes these other players better?

No way. Get outta here.

Alvin Harper did MANY good things with Tampa after Dallas. Aikman didn't make him good at all. Much like Leinart makes his targets better because he, unlike Carr, can actually hit his targets in the hands.

So let me get this right, you don't think Leinart is any good because he has good players around him?

One last thing. WHAT HAS CARR WON?

That's right Leinart. You've got two chapionships and are probably going to get your third. It would suck to have someone like that leading your team.

Someone else comparing USC's talent level to Fresno State. You people are rocket scientists.

Mike Vick could get hurt anytime he takes off. You wouldn't want him.

Brett Favre was addicted to pain killers. He won a super bowl.

Don't give me that mess.

It's not like he's rolling around out there like a 40 year old Doug Flutie. He will be a top 5 pick. No one else seems to care about this because it isn't an issue.

Leinart is mobile anyway. Do you ever watch them. He gets out of the pocket, runs around, and actually throws it to a target.

Imagine having a quarterback who actually gets out of the pocket and THROWS the ball much like a quarterback should do, instead of run out of bounds.

Not comparing talent you Ainge. Leinart is a proven winner. What has Carr won? Did Fresno win their conference at least?

Leinart will be a decent qb. but put behind the Texans line, i can count maybe 3 people who would do better than carr, and leinart's not one of them

Holy ****, you must be joking. He has 33 yards on the year on 19 carries. However, he has a long of twenty, which was a 3rd and long when the entire LB and DB core dropped back and Matt had a 6 man wall to run with. Removing that play brings you to, 13 yards on 18 carries. Yes, he's mobile.

Forgot to mention, Look out for Jason White next year. He's a total sleeper in the NFL.

You didn't understand what I wrote which was the following, "Leinart is mobile anyway. Do you ever watch them? He gets out of the pocket, runs around, and actually throws it to a target."

There is no mention of Leinart taking off with the ball. He is able to, let's try undertanding this again, "get out of the pocket, run around, and actually throw it to a target."

Okay, you can advance to high school.

Answer this.

Do you not see Carr make bad throws, not make the right reads, run out of bounds when he should throw it away (A junior high kid can be taught this)?

If you can't see this then I am wasting my time trying to explain something to someone who will never understand what I am trying to prove.

In Carr's 4 years here, he hasn't made the progress he should. These examples have nothing to do with the line. They have to do with Carr not being the answer for the Houston Texans.

We need a new quaterback. Leinart is great, a winner, and should be a Houston Texan in April when the Texans have the 1st pick in the draft.

This time we can draft a REAL quarterback with the #1 pick in the draft.
Hopefully, our new GM will realize this. Certainly the current one won't want to admit he screwed up so he will stick with Carr Wreck.

Hi Titan Pop, nice to see you btw. My post was actually a knock on the Astros not the Texans. :) If Houston fans want to say good things about any of their franchises it should be the Rockets. The Astros tend to win some but NEVER win IT. Besides I hate baseball, so I like to get my jabs in when I can.

As far as the "cancer" goes, that is the organization's doing not the fans. I doubt anyone you know is going to stop being fans of the team. Maybe all of this fan outcry will prod Mr. McNair to get rid of the *****s in charge (mainly Casserly), and put some people in place that will get everyone excited about the team right now.

Exactly, he does this sometimes. Leinart does is consistently and doesn't get collapsed upon in the pocket.

Let's go Jason White!!! The funniest thing is, Matt Leinart is closer to Jason White(bum knee, questionable arm strength, very accurate, smart, played on great teams) than he is Johnny Unitas like you make him out to be. Like I said, watch out for Jason White next year. All those small school QBs like Roethlisberger, Leftwich, Pennington, Favre, McNair and Culpepper are garbage. I mean, what did they win in college?

HAHAHAHAHA

Actually these guys led their schools to some of the best season's in their school's history.

Marshall was a power house before Leftwich and Pennington showed up. Everybody was talking about Alkorn State before McNair got there. Winning it all helps. I.E. Chris Simms. Had the talent but can't win. Culpepper recruited by big schools in Florida but had issues.

With his sub- 60% completion percentage and 0 TDs in the ASU game? Oh what a difference a Reggie Bush would make.

I take it you had no idea who Carr and Fresno State were during Carr's senior season. A season which Fresno was 11-3 and was hovering around the Top 10 until Game 7.

In case you missed it.

(2001) Started and played in all 14 games and was perhaps the nation’s best quarterback … had one of the most outstanding statistical seasons for a quarterback ever … became just the sixth quarterback in NCAA history to throw for 4,000 yards and 40 touchdowns. He had 4,839 passing yards and 46 touchdowns, both tops in the nation … exploded in the Silicon Valley Football Classic, completing 35-of-56 passes for a career-high 531 yards and four touchdowns … threw for at least 300 yards in 11 of 14 games, including 10 of the last 11 … finished third in the nation in completions with 343 … received numerous postseason awards, including Football News Offensive Player of the Year, Johnny Unitas Award, Sammy Baugh Award, WAC Offensive Player of the Year and first-team All-WAC … finished fifth in the voting for the Heisman Trophy … set Fresno State single-season records for passing yardage and touchdown passes … is the program’s career completion percentage leader (.626) … had three 400-yard passing games, including a 432-yard, six-touchdown performance in two-and-a-half quarters in the regular season finale against Utah State … was USA Today National Player of the Week after his 340-yard, four-touchdown performance in a victory against Oregon State … had a heroic effort in a victory against Colorado State, leading FS on a length-of-the-field drive with 27 seconds left in the game, which resulted in a game-tying field goal as time expired. The Bulldogs defeated CSU 25-22 … has been tabbed by ESPN’s Mel Kiper as one of the top quarterbacks to be taken in the upcoming NFL Draft … completed passes to 12 different Bulldogs, including 10 for touchdowns.
