BIG TORO

TERADACTYL #23
I know the Colts game is the first game of the season and they are a division rival, but I know alot of us have friends that are cowboys fans and that you will argue over this game till it's over.

So I want to know whats more important to you that we beat our top division rival or that we beat the cowgirls for a win and bragging rights with our cowgirl buddy's.

Colts.

I dislike the Cowgirls as much as the next guy, but I just can't muster up enough giveadamn to care about that game like I care about division games. The South Oklahoma Cowgirls just aren't important enough to rank any higher than 7th on our schedule (6 division games).

As much as I want to beat the Cowboy's, if I could only pick one I have to go with the Colt's I really want this team to advance this year.

Easily the cowboys just so i can get a couple of my cow pattie friends to :zipit:... even if it is only for 48 minutes....& secondly so i can see the array of emotions (:dance2::panic::crying:) on their faces after the texans have :ouch:..........shout out to Houston Frog LoL......

If we actually beat the Colts week one, I'm so much less worried about the Cowboys it's not even funny. It's just really difficult to call a game against an NFC team as important as a divisional game against an opponent we beat as often as Richard Justice makes an intelligent remark about football.

It was close for me. I want the division, but I'm also bringing a cow girls fan with me to the game. I want to watch him cry. hehe

Colts... No question.

OK, so here's the deal. Important to ME? To me it's the Cowboys. I hate the Cowturds.

Now, more important for the Texans, it's the Colts, and it will always be the Colts.

I know the difference here, I'm just saying..........

I'll vote Colts and its not even remotely close.

I feel exactly the same way. The fact that the Colts have perennially kicked the Texans' asses (1-15 all time record) and are a division rival makes that game much more important to me than having bragging rights over the Cowboys fans I know.

I concur.

My main reasoning for leaning towards the Cowboys is that everyone I know is a Cowboy fan and it's time to shut them up if only for 60 minutes.

Easy no contest. Beating the Colts atleast once is almost a must
to having any chance to get into the playoffs.

I understand why everyone wants to beat the colts as far as what it would mean to the us in the division, but there are still 2 wild card berths to be had in the AFC if we don't beat them in our 1st game. If we beat the colts the 2nd time around & we sweep our other division opponents we are still in play for the division & the playoffs.

On the other hand, losing to the cowboys would mean not only another 6 year wait to be able to beat them again but also of hearing from these moronic cowboy fans about what the cow chips did to us the last time out....I'm willing to forgo 1 colts win to shut these dudes up for any length of time.

Definitely the Colts. We are 1-15 against them, and the only way we sniff playoffs is if we can overtake them.

But on the other hand, it sure would be nice to BTHO Cowgirls and their fans.

I think you are conviencing me! Maybe I should have Picked Cowboys. I definitely like hearing the reponses of those you chose cowoys, I think it's halarious.

4 year wait. Every team plays every other team at least once every 4 years.

No we'd all have a collective coronary with joker-like grins on our faces if that happened, especially after all the years of underachieving & flat out bad football....

I would probably cry tears of joy (literally) and I haven't done that ever because I'm a man.

I'll echo a lot of the thoughts on the board here...

Strategically - Colts - Division games count for more than out of conference.

Emotionally - Cowboys - The Texans only play these guys once every four years. Most Cowboy fans I've been around are arrogant obnoxious and need to get shut up. HoustonFrog, Starstruck and others that post here are NOT included in this mix of fans:tiphat:).

Where is the Colts smilie by the way?....:zipit:

Well, obviously we need to...but, then again, I really want...ummm...if I develop multiple personalities, can each one answer the question?
:goodbad:

Definitely the Colts. If you listen to Peyton's interviews, he NEVER
sleeps on ANY division rival, especially the Texans.

Let's face it. The Colts are in the Texans' heads. Last year, they
had their best chance of sweeping them. In game one, the
Texans scored over 20 unanswered points to lose. In game two,
the Texans score 17 unanswered to start the game, and ultimately
choke THAT game away, too.

If the Texans wanna get off the schnide, their balls are in
Indy. No way they take the next step in 2010, without
showing they belong on the same field with the Colts.

I know Stan!! I think Khari needs to make us one for each of our division rivals, esp a real cut throat one for the meatballs!!:cutthroat: Fix this one:kitten:for the kitty's, and doctor this one :deadhorse up a bit for the hags!! It's doable!!:)

If the question were:

1) Beat the Cowboys, win the division (which is possible)
2) Beat the Colts, lose the division (which is possible as well)

I would still say beat the Colts. They've beat us 15 out of 16 times in our history, and we can't have that if we are to be respected in this league.

It hurts that if we lose to the Cowboys, it will be another 4 years before we play them again (they beat us 4 years ago, so that would be 8 years total of not beating them).

But I'll take that, before I take another whupp'n by the Colts. It doesn't matter if we lost by 3 or lost by 7, 15 out of 16 is a whupp'n.

The win that cements a playoff berth. But I think both the Colts and the Cowboys are important wins. Division games are something the Texans can't seem to find a way to win, so a win against a rival and division opponent is huge. And the cowboys would be a statement (well also the Colts, for sure) to the NFL that this team is different and can beat premier competition (and another rival). At this point the Colts and the Cowboys are considered the top teams based on preseason rankings, beating them BOTH would be huge for confidence. I guess if you pick one, you have to go with the division win, but I'd like to see them win both.

The freaking Bengals found a way to sweep both the Steelers
and Ravens to TAKE their Division Championship. I'm sick and tired
of Texans fans RESIGNING themselves to accept getting pwned by the Colts.

It's time this team and its fans DEMAND respect from its rivals by
actually WINNING THE GAMES. Am I harsh? Nah. Just "sickodisshit."

:roast: The Colts!

I despise the Cowboys with a passion, but beating the Colts needs to start happening on a regular basis. They are in our division, and those games mean a lot! :fans:

See, that's the thing, about the only respect we get from any of our division foes comes from the colts, which is why i don't have that same disdain towards them that i have for cowboy, titan or jags fans. We've had colts fans come to our board very respectful & say that we've got lots of talent &/or "we're close" & even some colts players have said that. There's just no blatant disrespect of us as a team like we get from obnoxious titan, jag or cowboy fans.

Do i want us to beat the colts? yes, but i realize that that's a well oiled machine over there as long as #18 is under center. Honestly, spliting with those dudes would satisfy me.

What are you talking about?

The poll is 35-6 beat the Colts.

Hopefully, this thread will be in memory all season. I don't wanna
hear anymore "Aww shucks. Let another get away. How disappointing."

Losing to the Colts is unacceptable in 2010. Blowing a team out in the
first half, and ultimately losing the game should stir anger, not "Darn.
We'll get 'em next time."

Let me calm down. Game one is still too many weeks away. The
more I talk, the more I think about how the Jets rolled us when
our spirits were high last year.

....must....not....get.....ANGRY:pissed::pissed:

OK.

So... let's say we lose to the Colts. What do you want to hear? Do you want everyone to start chanting that we need to dismantle our team and give up football? Do you want there to be a huge grassroots movement to fire Kubiak? Do you want the entire MB to go dead as everyone gives up?

The only responsible thing TO say is "We'll get 'em next time." Mathematically, we can lose every game in our division and still win our division. The team has to keep fighting and we should keep fighting right along side them. At least, that's the way I see it.

They are only nice to us because we aren't perceived as a threat. If we could ever start consistently beating them you will see how they really feel. I would love a team that we were 15-1 (or whatever) against too.

I understand your mathematical resignation to going 0-2 annually
against the Colts. I even understand your what you're saying about
getting swept against all THREE divisional rivals. All those teams,
including the Colts, would have to go 9-7. The Texans would have
to SWEEP the NFC East, AFC West, AND beat the Ravens and Jets.
Possible, but HIGHLY unlikely.

My frustration is the fact we've been dealing with "theoretical", "hypothetical"
"anecdotal" notions of this team growing up and becoming a REAL
NFL contender for YEARS. I'll continue to watch every game, and I'll be the first
to admit they embarrassed my ass at work after the Week One debacle last year.

Being an admitted Texans fan has been HARD. When will we be able
to talk up this team without getting outright HUMILIATED? Will
it be 2010? One can only hope.
