Does anybody think we can beat the Titans next week?

nut

They are a heckuva lot better than the Jets. I think they are going to beat the crap out of us. Shaub played like he was still injured (from running out of bounds in that NFLX game). TN will be coming after him, especially since they won't be worried about our running game. If we start 0-2, it will feel like "uh-oh, here we go again". Oh that's right, it already feels like that again.

Because I don't think the Texans are anywhere near as bad as they looked today, I think they have a chance.

But they better get their act together in a hurry

If we play like we did v. Jets and they play like they did v Pittsburgh...

... no frickin' way.

Schaub's passes were weak because he couldn't push off with the ankle. That was not his offensive line. That is the same thing they defended Carr with.

schaub played like all of the other qbs that didnt have no line to protect him.

This.

Seriously, he never had any time to make reads and complete throws. He got rattled from the very beginning. The play calling and the O-line is to blame. Play calling was terrible...and when it was not...it was predictable.

and if the line can get to collins, no, not hurries, sacks....we may have a chance.

but i seriously doubt it.

we need to win against jacksonville and oakland.
and i doubt we'll win against jacksonville too.

I think it will be a tough game , I think the Texans will bounce back and esp the offense will try to prove this game was a fluke.

If I didn't think that, then hell I (or we all ) might as well quit watching the next 15 games and wait for the draft

No. Of course not. That's entirely out of the question. We'd actually have to take a team to Nashville that cared. I didn't see one today and nothing makes me believe that they'll find a heart in 7 days.

No way. If a rookie QB and a rookie HC did this to the Texans, what do we expect Kerry Collins and Jeff Fisher to do?

no we dont even come close to beating the titans... the closest the game will be is 0-0 before kick off and after that prepare for the worst

Pretty much summed up what I was going to post. If the Titans D looked like they did against Pitt, we might be looking at scoring our first offensive touchdown in week 3.

This next will will definitely test the mettle of this team.

I think we'll run 'em over. We're a sparkling 2-0 on the road thus far this year. 0-3 at home. I think I cursed the Texans by buying season tickets for the first time.

Ugh.

Go Texans!

Depends on who plays. i think this game shows how important walter and wilson are to this team. do we have a chance, yeah. will we, probably not. Our Defense should keep us in the game though, atleast for three quarters.

you want me to believe that walter and wilson's absence made the difference today? OMG..

If the coaches devise the same type of offensive game they did today then HELL NO, no chance. If they get REAL and realize they need to pass early and often, then mix in the run later, maybe. Our defense may be able to hold the Titans to a reasonable points, but if the offense plays scared and TRADITIONAL like they did today then no we will get BEAT. Sometimes I think the Texans say/play classic ball because maybe they don't want to take a chance or they just aren't able to visualize a way to win or they are unrealistic in viewing the team they have. C'mon coaches today you were boring, unimaginative, and YOUR OFFENSIVE GAME PLAN GAVE US NO CHANCE TO WIN. If Shab is so hurt that he can't throw the ball downfield or he is so flustered because of the pressure that he can't think, then put someone else in. Give our BEST PLAYER ON OFFENSE AJ a chance. Defense was Ok today, so there is some hope, but the Offense was pitiful. VENTING

No. but they coulda helped. i mean come on we were playing furguson a safety at cb. through the first half our D was impressive, atleast run D. if our offense woulda let the D take a break, it woulda been way closer. doesnt matter who we play, if our D is out there all day their gunna get burned. and just put yourself in rex ryans shoes. the gameplan was keep the pass attack in check. you gameplanned for dre and walter and when walter isnt out there, you can double triple team dre. (they woulda let davis beat em)

Sure they can.

The Meatballs are definitely the favorites in this matchup, but 1 terrible game doesn't mean the Texans are a bunch of chumps.

If the defense stuffs the run like they did for most of this game, and the offense remembers they're one of the best in the league, they can go in there and take this one. The tacks are a good team, but definitely not dominate. Especially without Fat Albert.

Is it possible......sure....

will they.......really really really really doubt it

will i watch......i'll have my daughter next weekend....we normally watch the Texans together. It's really funny too because she's only 3 but she likes watching the Texans with me (i know it sounds crazy but she does, she likes it whenever we get to go to a game at reliant too) and she'll even make comments to me when we watch together and i show that i'm upset about the perfomance on the field, she'll ask "why are the Texans broke daddy?" We'll high five if we score, etc.. Anyway, I think her and I just having a day out may be better than watching the ass pounding that is more than likely to happen next week. Not worth the effort for turning on the tv based on what I saw today.

its still warm enough for barton springs

As soon as I watched that game the Titans had against the Steelers, my prediction was that we would lose. And the closer we got to the Jets game I thought we would lose.

It's a real long-shot, but it would certainly be the one thing and the only thing that could get the Texans and Kubiak off of the hot-seat right now.

Well the good news is that the Titans don't blitz. This team cannot handle a blitz
Um, go watch some old Fisher game film....they will blitz guys who aren't big Ben. Once he sees this game film you can bet he will blitz everyone except VY.

If we get Reeves back, we have a chance. Our rookies in the secondary
were blowing coverages all day. It's hard to blitz, when the secondary
lets men run free all day long. That Mcain screwup was unforgivable.
Why was he playing ZONE on a ZERO BLITZ!!??

We don't have a snow ball's chance in hayull. It is going to be a massacre the likes of which haven't been seen since Wounded Knee.

I say no but thats what I would say before today as well. We have never come close to winning there so nothing we did today changed my thinking.

So the offense will score their most points all season? Like, hopefully 3?

Yep, it's almost time to start waiting for the draft. Just like the last 7 Septembers.

I think we can take them. Not at Football, but maybe table tennis. Homerun derby perhaps. But not football. Hell our coac is already sharpening the sword he will fall on after the game next week.

I'd take playing the Titans over the Jets any day....we understand what Tennessee wants to do, we looked absolutely clueless about what the Jets show

"Does anybody think we can beat the Titans next week"

people some people think we can win

But what "I" think is no we are going to Lose next wk has well if i had to put money on it

0-2 here we come

schaub played like all of the other qbs that didnt have no line to protect him.

Our OL was pushed around last year when we beat the Titans; but Schaub kept battling through it. So to answer the question, yes we can win. But I can't see beating a dominant defense twice in a row unless the OL vastly improves.

Just glad I didn't spend any of my hard earned money to make that trip, which I started to do. We will get creamed! Fisher will have his team prepared, something Kubiac does NOT know how to do.

Look they sucked today, no doubt, and criticism is warranted, but don't be so hateful. There are some around here that sound like Philly fans.

I know I'll get some neative reps sent my way, but I will say that the fans performed as shitty as the team today. It sounds silly but we can't even fill the staidum with more than 10 people wearing white. You think in Pittsburgh they were flipping blue, and green, and orange, or they get quite when the going gets rough. They're loud when they need to be and get in the game.

As a fan we can't get the players to do what they need to do, but at least get in the game, I think that fingers can be pointed back at ourselves. A new Head Coach, a new QB, a new GM, a new Center, won't make better fans, only better fair weather fans.

For a short sentence there is certainly a lot to think about built into it...
1) the reason we can do well against the Tacks is that we have played them before and know what they do.
2) the reason we got slaughtered by the Jets and others is that we are unfamiliar with what they do.
3) should we ever accidentally stumble into the play-offs, does this mean we are sure to go out first round because we will have no clue what to do?
These are just my thoughts when I read this and it kind of scares me about how true this could be.

As much as I want Gary Kubiak to be the hometown kid who did good, it's not going to happen.

The Texans have ZERO chance of beating the Titans in Tennessee next weekend.

Sorry. Just ain't going to happen.
