How tall is Jones really

Carr Bombed

Hall of Fame
I've seen him listed as 6'1 all the way up to 6'4...........does anyone really know how tall the guy is really?

The homepage has him listed at 6'2, but he looks a little taller.

he's tall enough...
:specnatz:

now if he'd just put on a tad more muscle... the lad looks a wee bit thin for the NFL

His size is very good. The muscle mass will come, but he came from freaking Lane College. I'm sure they are a great school and all, but they are not even close to the Texans trainers who are paid to do make him bigger. Jacoby has a lot of stuff going for him, and his full size will come soon enough. Look back at tons of players who had size concerns coming into the league. People fill out on their own, and some professionals help too.

16 to 18 feet if u count his shoes , come on what kind of question is this lol

It was a simple question, not really that hard to understand. I have seen many contradicting reports, including one profile that was aired during the Cardinals game that had him listed at 6'4.

Maybe if you find the question so "silly" you should of just moved on to another thread.

He's obviously long and sinewy, but I dunno his exact height ? I'm more interested in what kind of speed he really has ? He certainly looks fast, just ask the Cards punt coverage defenders about that. And those long-striders tend to be even faster than they look.
I've heard he timed at something like 4.5 or 4.6 but I suspect that really understates his speed, or maybe he's just got a horrible start because he's long-legged. I'd really be most interested in his 100 & 200 meter times, but so far haven't located anything in that department ?

How many TDs do you expect him to score in one play? :user:

I wrote on another thread somewhere that it was just one TD return, but I didn't get to see the game. Later, I saw the play on the Texans' main site, and wow!!! I counted 6 defenders he juked, and a couple of them looked like their legs were going to break in various places from trying to change direction and keep up with his cuts. Still think he should be the #2 receiver , if he qualifies, but than man is one serious punt returner.

Our special teams are going to be really exciting this year. Assume we stay healthy, every return is going to have the potential for a touchdown. At the very least, we should get some great field position.

I think he's going to be good too, but there was some very nice blocking on that return. Bennett and Bray had good blocks to clear the area at the beginning of the return. Even though Bray's block was borderline "in the back". lol :)

Right now it just looks like a matter of time before he becomes #2, but surely there will be some bumps in the road and I'm certainly not trying to jinx him.
I was trying to think who he reminded me of the most, now I realize it's Randy Moss. He's not quite as tall as Moss but the build is very similar IMO.
We have seen his speed (though not quantified), but wonder if he's a
jumper like Moss ?

just check nfl.com

12 Jacoby Jones WR 23 6-4 210 R Lane (ESPIN)
12 Jones, Jacoby * WR 6-2 210 Lane College (TEXANS website)
Jacoby Jones WR 6-4 210 07-11-1984 0 Lane (USA)
Jones, Jacoby WR 6-4 210 7/11/84 R Lane (FOX)
12 Jones, Jacoby WR 6-2 210 07/11/1984 R Lane (CBS)

In my Athlon Sports magazine it list him at 6' 3" 210

So all and all it was not a stupid question. Hell I watched the game on Sat at a sportsbar and they had NFLN showing the game and the announcer was saying all game long he is 6' 2" and the stats would show him at 6' 4" .

So calling someone out for asking an honestion question, just because you feel like you have to comment on every single thread is even more ridiculous.
