"Mr. 12-7 Aggie fan"

Most college football teams take overwhelming pride in winning National Championships, Conference Championships, or Bowl Games. Not You? You've got 12-7...
"It's a 5 point win”

Armed with your first win over Texas in 7 years, you can't stop talking about how the tide is turning...
"One in a row"

Most people wait for more than one win in this millennium before proclaiming complete dominance, but not you. You are convinced by one ugly win, you can never again lose to your daddy....

"The nut squeezing makes me dizzy"

So crack open an ice cold can of koolaid, oh sultan of suckage. Because your recruiting classes continue to circle the drain, and you've got Fran for at least 2 more years...
"Mr. 12-7 Aggie faaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaan"

As if you needed any more rep.....I gave you some anyway.

Classic.

Rep to Mrs. KT for being able to laugh at herself.

you must spread rep...blah blah blah

great post KT, this should go directly to TexansLucky13's PM box.

there should be something about them beating a freshman QB named Colt.

funny, but I seem to recall all longhorn fans begin the talk of dynasty in Austin after their national championship.

that fizzled rather quickly.

Just a slight difference about talking dynasty after winning the national Championship then running one's mouth after beating UT 12-7. Wouldn't you agree?

I'm not willing to say the Ags will win the conference but I feel great about this upcoming season. Goodson, Lane and McGhee... I'll take my chances. There is the issue of coach Fran though.... Arrrrghh!!!

I don't know: at Miami, at Tech, at Nebraska, at Oklahoma, at Missouri, and with UT being only ranked team played at home I think the Aggies will be hard pressed to get to 8 wins.

No worries at Miami.
****** at Tech
No worries at Nebraska (sorry husker fans blame Diapher for the bad Karma)
Close upset at Oklahoma
at Missouri - tough game but a win (Say 16-9)
Texas - no worries (we got their number........... j/k)

Seriously though, you are right about the schedule for the Aggies. In fact Dave Campbells Texas Football mentioned something similar about not getting any favors there...

true the minute VY decided to go pro and colt, even though he did a great job, just wasn't in the cards..

I honestly haven't heard much about UT this season, hadn't kept up

Actually, what I'm hearing from most of the Ag fans is quite different: concern about whether Franchione can finally 'get it done' this year. Many still aren't sold on the guy and while there's optimism about the team this year it's still guarded. Why wouldn't it be?

And yes, they think they should beat Texas at CS this year. Why shouldn't they think that - home game and all? After a few relatively weaker opponents to begin they have a difficult road schedule ... at Miami, at OU, at Tech, at Nebraska, at Mizzou... OSU at home will be tough.

If they win the South this year, they will have to earn it. I don't think they will, but I think they will be very competitive...

Those maroon 12 7 inspection stickers expire in December so they will need to do something good by then to carry over into 08.

Their '08 recruit list doen't look too bad at the moment. Ranked 13th by rivals.

No they didn't. Anyone who knows anything about Longhorn football knows that you can't build a dynasty with a freshman QB and Greg Davis as the OC.

You might have heard one Longhorn fan talk about a dynasty, but to say that "all" of them were is pretty ignorant. Not to mention, college football (and pro football) dynasties are just rarities in general nowadays.

The National Championship is one of my all-time highlights as a football fan. Have fun with 12-7.

Well as long as you're going to start tossing out personal insults, stating that I heard just one horn fan speak of dynasty talk is equally, if not more ignorant.

All the horns have been up to this spring/summer is adding to the police blotter report. With the latest DUI charge, I think that makes an even 6 to have been arrested by the Austin P.D. since January.

To speak in terms of broad generalizations is ignorant. If you take that as a personal insult, then that's your problem.

Take a look at the below quote. I qualified my statement with the phrase might have. That makes it a non-generalization.

A&M maybe be keeping it's nose cleaner this year, but wasn't it a year or two ago when they too had similar string of arrests. All big time football programs have issues like this, not just UT.

Actually the Horns were also up to getting drafted in the NFL. How did the Ags fare in the draft?

difficult to debate the fine points of quotation and the english language with someone as internet savvy as yourself.

I'll leave you with a "have a nice day" Mr. Pleasant!

I will assume you already know the answer, hence your underlying sarcasm, but this year was an off year for the Aggies going into the NFL.

If you look at the bigger picture though, there are just as many, if not more, Aggies who have played in the NFL as the whorns.

To bad y'all fired teh coach who made that so, and replaced him with what...another 9 win a year coach. Smooth one there Ags, real smooth.

Aggie fans are just totally clueless. they have all-male cheerleaders groomed like extras in a John Waters film, stupid douchebags carrying sabres on the field, traditions that kill students, and ignorant songs sung by the sheeple in the stands....yeah that is Aggie traditions alright.

oh and never winning anything of consequence. celebrating 5 point victories against a freshman QB-led UT squad like they just won the National Championship.....that is Aggie football alright. Maybe they can have a parade the next time they beat the next community college they schedule.

whatever, while Aggie fan is picking his teeth with hay, polishing his prize pig, and deciding whether to go out with the fat ugly chick from his Political Science class or the fat ugly chick that winked at him from behind a half-eaten bag of Lay's during Yell Practice, the Longhorn faithful will be laughing at your prehistoric institution and all of its 'traditions'. Aggie football is pathetic and the fans that actually buy into it are just as bad.

GO AGGIES!!

I'd rather be an Aggie than shooting that devil sign and practicing the occult by trying to "hex" people...

By the way, the talk about police blotters (on both sides) is pretty dumb. I will admit to Toombs and just this past season Cincinnati Bengal and former starting QB Reggie McNeal got in trouble... Point being, neither side wants to travel that road...

I think after the beating Cal gave them on National TV A&M should be laying low as possible and hoping McGee learns to throw a football next year.Fran is going to handicap that kid at 25 with the shots i've seen him take.

Of course my favorite A&M memory is the day after a game in Norman, Oklahoma I got to take a paper to my boss(an A&M grad) reading 77-0.I didn't have to say anything. I just smiled.

yeah like measuring your chances of winning by an outhouse falling is way better and my favorite...gig 'em.

Did you take your bitterness pills this morning? :shades:

There is so much anger and envy in that post, therapy with a licensed professional is probably the only thing that can save you from yourself.

Knowledge time:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Corna

The gesture carries many meanings, none of them satanical untill the 60's, which was after the tradition was started at UT.

Do really need to go down this road?

NO... GOD NO.. We talked about the Corna, Ronnie James Dio and all of that crap ad naseaum....

Geeeeez for people that pass their time making Aggie jokes some of y'all have NO FREAKIN' sense of humor - whatsoever!!!

Some of the best Aggie jokes that I ever heard were told to me by Aggies.

Usually once you guys start getting up there in age, then y'all develop an ability to laugh at yourselves.

Yes! You are correct sir!! As I have gotten older, my sense of humor has sky-rocketed and I am the first one to laugh at myself... Life's too freakin short, not to!!

Of course I know the answer and I think it is ridiculous. I am a Longhorn fan, but I am also a fan for strong Texas teams keeping Texas talent. A weak A&M from either their recruiting evaluations or delevolping players does not help Texas in that regard. A healthy A&M is good for UT in my opinion.

Like i said, I missed the tone of that post completely, but what did y'all expect from a Red Raider. I'm ultra defensive by nature (my defence of UT comes from my dad, who actually went there. I would have but I didn't think 6th St would help my academics...boy was Lubbock to wrong place to go to, to avoid the party atmosphere that is.)

No worries... I'm the first one to make fun of myself for going to A&M and UH, and being Irish... So hush and eat your tortilla... j/k

Something Jim Rome said/read on his radio show a while back.

“They won't shut up. They have to go on about spirit, and old army, and red ass, and how bonfire represents the burning sensation they have in their urine to beat UT, and blah blah blah. Shut up. You start to get the feeling the entire school was built to spite UT. Forget the fact that when the Texas Legislature back in the 1870's passed legislation to start a state university they also decided to have a subsidiary branch of the main school (The University of Texas) that would teach agriculture and mechanics. Aggies love to say their school is older, from where they get that I don't know ... the fact is, the State intended A&M to be a branch of UT. They are like the afterbirth from the original creation. Like Danny Devito in Twins. So they apparently have this complex, so much so, that they must devote their entire school to trying to prove to UT that they are just as good. All the while, nobody at UT denies that A&M is a good school, yet they won't shut up. So they write a fight song ... about ... Texas, and how they want to beat them. They have a Fish Camp for freshman where they tell them how bad Texas is and how good A&M and all its traditions are.
It is the world's largest known case of penis envy, and it is manifested in everything A&M does. The people at A&M ... now we all have friends who went to A&M or are at A&M. There are some nice people there. However ... there is the Corp., East Texas' answer to dreams of ROTC kids everywhere. For every boy scout who never learned to stop playing with his GI Joe Toys, there is the Corp. Now, forget the fact that A&M will actually let people with sub-par grades enroll if they agree to join the Corp. Forget the fact that the Corps looked like a Gestapo hate rally while beating down students on Kyle Field in 1995. Forget the fact that along with the numerous hazing charges that have been filed against them, and swept under the rug over the years, they just this past month have had one Corps member bring charges against another Corps member who apparently had been propositioning others for a little actual sodomy. Not only could I go on with more instances of idiocracy by these Khaki-clad-shaven-headed-dorks, I am sure each of you have your own stories.
The point is: We all respect West Point, Annapolis, The Air Force Academy; however, nobody respects the Corp. I imagine they are kind of the laughing stock of the military world. Just because you dress like the Army, and try and act like the Army, does not make you the Army. People at A&M don't even respect these clowns. It is not cool to shave your head and dress up. Halloween is only supposed to be one day of the year. If you want to carry guns and beat up civilians, move to Israel. It is even less cool to slobber on somebody's daughter on national television and call it a tradition. Dry humping 18 year old girls in the stands at football games is not cool. Not only is it not cool, it should be against the law. I know that in College Station, students are just prone to mount each other on the campus lawn, or in the middle of class, or anytime anything good happens you can just grab the girl sitting next to you and start sucking on her face. But everywhere else in the world, it is looked down upon. Especially if you are doing it on my TV. That is why we have moved the game from Thanksgiving. Because people across the nation were gagging on their turkey when in the middle of watching a football game, some boy scout is tongue thrashing some overweight co-ed during somebody's Thanksgiving dinner. We do not need to see burly women engaged in a suckfest every time your woeful offense manages to put points on the board. Some of these girls are in desperate need of a trip to the Clinique counter. Screw that, forget make-up, it is too late for that, just give them a veil.
"t.u." is not funny. It is NOT insulting. It is dumb. Just imagine if folks from Texas kept talking about M&A and giggling. That would not be funny. In fact, it would be retarded. That's why UT fans don't do it. Please learn. You want to lose the image of country bumpkins, of a people fond of sheep, of people that aren't stupid? Then quit building things that fall down. Quit chasing cheerleaders around with swords on national TV. Quit whooping in church. Quit whooping period. Quit putting up scoreboards for the enjoyment of dead mammals. Quit spending your Friday nights practicing how to yell. Quit telling rape jokes to reporters when you're running for Governor. When you are filling out season ticket renewals, and the form asks for your phone #, H & W, quit putting 258-3999, Height 6'3", Weight 185. Just, collectively, stop making asses of yourselves.
Go to East Texas, tour every small town, and ask every red neck with a 5th grade education why they cheer for A&M and wear maroon. That is your fan base. This is why you are perceived by the educated masses as stupid. Nobody cares if you think your band is better. They might be louder, they might march in neat little zig zags, but they have no musical ability. The point is, nobody cares who wins halftime. Quit getting geeked up about marching bands. I find it hard to believe you stood through your high school band's entire halftime performance. And why? Cause nobody cared then and nobody cares now. Plus, you can hear them fine sitting down even if you do care. Why is it cool all of a sudden now that you're in college? Men should never let out high pitched whooping sounds. Perhaps the only justifiable situation in which this can be tolerated is perhaps during an anal probe. Oh wait ... I understand now.
Dogs are not ladies. They don't look or smell like ladies. Dogs eat their own feces and should be treated accordingly.
Finally, College Station is an arm-pit of a town. Quit pretending that it is a great college town. It is a town and there is a college there. That should be the end of this comparison. If you feel that life doesn't get any better than the Dixie Chicken, and enjoy being stuck in a never ending Dukes of Hazard episode, then move there. More importantly, don't move to Austin ... they are trying to create an educated, technological, and open minded population base. Austin is, and will continue to be, the birthplace and final resting place of all that is cool.
As my friend Stephen Johnson once said: "If the world were ever to get an enema, College Station is where you would connect the hose.". If you go to school at A&M, please don't be an Aggie.
God Bless the Great State of Texas."

I'm a Longhorn fan, and I encourage all Ags to celebrate that victory loud and proud...
As a Texans fan, I certainly know what it's like to revel in a victory over a hated rival...

We Texans fans certainly drove 19-10 into the ground... you could say that victory over the cowgirls was the only really meaningful victory we've had... there are some similarities between that victory and 12-7... one significant difference, however, is that the Horns don't have to wait four years to put right the world...

As an Ag, I have to agree with A.J. on this one, as long as Francis is our leader, we're doomed to the bottom of the barrel. Haven't cared for the guy since day one. His recruiting lacks, he's quick to lay blame on his coaching staff instead of his own doorstep, and walking away and leaving Alabama in the mess he did are all things that keep me from ever wanting this guy as our head coach. Of course, crowing about a victory over Texas? Always, and forever, things in that department will never change, sorry my Teasip'in Texans fans, but at least we have one thing in common <grin>
