If we're going to do "Worst Player in Franchise History"

Hervoyel

BUENO!
Then I think that in order to be be fair we should also have a thread going for "Best Player in Franchise History" to keep things balanced.

Just like the worst player thread there are a lot of ways you could judge this one.

You could go with best value player for what we invested (I'm thinking that's either Chester Pitts (80 mostly quality starts on this team has to count for something) or Domanick Davis (3195 yards, 23 TD's, and a 4.1 yard average in 3 years isn't too shabby for an injury prone 4th round pick that was meant to play a lot of special teams)

You could just look at their entire career (here and elsewhere) and pick the player who was the best "player" to ever put on our uniform. In that case I'm thinking that Ahman Green became that guy the moment he signed with us. Granted everything he's done was somewhere else but he just might be the highest "quality" player we've ever seen take the field here.

If you were going to exclude accomplishments from other teams and go with only pure Texans players then it's either Andre Johnson or DeMeco Ryans IMO with AJ getting the nod due to years of service and Pro Bowls.

What do you guys think?

Well, people generally do seem to be better at focusing on the negative than the positive and nobody ever said the world was going to be fair. To each his own.

Has to be Andre Johnson. Demeco Ryans was phenomenal last year, but as a whole, AJ is the best player the Texans have had.

AJ offensively

defensively ....tough one, Ryans is becoming that just after one season..

Aaron glenn would be my other choice on defense.(hard to pick between him and Sharper)

Unfortunately, Campbell wouldn't fall under this franchise, just Houston legacy, but I will agree with you and say AJ has been the best player the Texans franchise has had to date.

well it'snot my fault if he heads next door rather than the Strodome.
